  • The Persian Empire was one of the most mysterious civilizations in the ancient world. Persia became an empire under the Cyrus the Great, who created a policy of religious and cultural tolerance that became the hallmark of Persian rule. Engineering feats include an innovative system of water management; a cross-continent paved roadway stretching 1500 miles; a canal linking the Nile to the Red Sea; and the creation of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Mausoleum of Maussollos.
The most advanced technologie and the biggest Empire of all time: P E R S I A

Some historical clarification here: 1) Yes, the persian empire was the biggest at the time, even larger than Rome, but the Mongol empire was much larger, mainly because it included most of Asia.
    2) There were in fact 300 spartans, but the battle was seen as a minor speed bump to the persians and in fact was intended to buy the athenians time.
    3) The Persians DID NOT invent reading and writing, they used cunieform, a form of writing that had exsisted since ancient mesopotamia.

Daniel 11: 2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
He had to fight against greeks because it was prophesied...

Is it just me or are there a lot of factual errors in this film? He said that the distance from Marathon to Sparta was 140 miles. First of all the runner went from Marathon to ATHENS not Sparta and a marathon is 26+ miles. And anyway how could ANYone run 140 miles in 2 days???

Is that Peter Weller? Oh, by the way, the Persian Empire became cursed when the corrupted and evil Zoroastrian high priest (the Persian "Pope", and the first of its kind, apparently) decided to MURDER Mani, a REINCARNATION of ZOROASTER HIMSELF!

There were clearly "blacks" in Egypt, there are Egyptian paintings pointing towards four races that occupied Egypt which were Libyans, Nubians, Assyrians, and ordinary "Brown" Egyptians. Correct me if I am wrong but several of Egypt's pharaohs were black, there was one infamous Nubian king that made himself Pharoah when Egypt was going through one of it's dynastic struggles and was being invaded by foreigners. To deny there were NO blacks in Egypt is blind euro centrism.

@eshaghirani because even though he paid for their labor, i'm sure he didn't pay the same rate he would have paid the aristocracy. For all intensive purposes they were slaves. They couldn't participate in government, they were not allowed to be educated, they were not citizen of the persian empire. Even the documentary you are quoting said they were slaves. If the "king" decided as a slave you were to work the feilds or build his palace, you had no choice but to do so, whether or not he paid

Mongol Empire left much more pain and destruction than what it built. Mongols rolled back Persian and Chinese developments at least a century. Mongol conquest has caust the most death ever, even more than WW2. As much as 17percent of entire human population parished under the Mongols. Mongols are not worthy of being put together with the other REAL empires in this show.

nope there were Egyptians in Egypt. Africa is a massive continent, much larger than the US. the distance from Cairo to Cape Town, South Africa is twice the distance from Boston to Mexico City. there's more genetic diversity in Africa than in North America
thinking blacks were in Egypt makes about as much sense as thinking Eskimos built the Mayan pyramids. Cleoptra was of Greek descent
this is why America fails. blacks and Jews hear "hear Egypt is in Africa" and think that Egyptians were black.

@Dariush248 Not only that, in the movie 300, American Hollywood (the re-writers of history) had a black guy to approach the Spartan king. LOL...
Next you'll see Genghis Khan as a black guy. Pathetic!
