I'm 44 yr old now but watching this reminds me of the happiest time of my life skating everyday building ramps no worrys at all happy fucking days love public domain and the soundtrack is top
50/50 to helipop out on the picnic table, kickflip to 5-0 stall on the bench, kickflip to 50/50 revert out on the picnic table, Barbee was LIGHT YEARS ahead of the others when this came out. I remember watching this every day during summer break, getting geeked up, and then making feeble attempts to do the same thing. Barbee was one of the best to ever do it.
1998 and 12 years old. This was my main inspiration. 2021 and 47 years old. This is still my main inspiration and one of the reasons I started skating again. It is of course not possible to be as fluid as Ray Barbee. But it’s fun trying!
Dude.. Im soo with you on this... Public domain brings back so many memories of my skating days, I must have rewound the Ray barbie clip a thousand times, and i used to go out and re create that exact section, absolute classic. I still have this video on vhs and my last skateboard is in the cupboard. Im 35 and now a musician but never really wanted to stop skating.. did it cuz everyone else did.. if someone ask me to go skating with them tomorrow i wouldn't think twice about it. Good ol days!
@jdebott Natas was a skater for Santa Cruz iirc, myself and my bro had a group of mates at the age of 11, watched this vid and got super psyched and hit the streets. Fucken awesome days. I Miss them /cry xD
wow !!! nothin to say about that !! One of the best skate music ever !! I decide to skate because of this video in the past ! I had it in my walkman cd when i was when i used to skate when i was young !! it make me happy and a bit sad because life change and we all grow up ;) for me that is SKATEBOARDING ! the real feeling of skateboard ! if you feel what i mean !! 5 friends in the street any time in the day or night, crazy to do anything with his skateboard ! Wow thats fucking cool ! we really
😢😢😥😮💨 I was amped as fuck to rock out to this track and old footage, until I saw #SkateMasterTate!!! Rest In Peace Ese!!! Solamente #Chincon!!!🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿💯✌🏿
I think other boards around the same time had noses similar but were more ramp oriented Underhill cross etc..., Mullens' design was more street so yes and no i think is the answer.

Watching in 2024! Ray Barbee is so smooth!
Him a Frankie Hill are why I skated ..why I skated today.
@@ItsMe-vg4vj The smoothness of Ray Barbee and the balls of steel of Frankie Hill.

It was my daily influence over 30 years ago...damn!!
The band is "McRad"
The song is "Weakness"
You can also search for Chuck Treece. Also the song at the end is McShred by McRad/Treece.
Thanks for posting that! I have always wondered what song this was!! Classic video.
Ray Barbee is the reason i came here
The best years.
It’s amazing all of us in the comments were so similarly moved by this part when we were kids. Shared experience we never knew we had until now.
I didn’t skate in this era but I always love watching videos from that time
Ray Barbee smooth as fuck
Watching and Remembering in 2020

Natas was ultimately the best back in the day but Ray, Ray was the smoothest..

My weakness by McRad, the second song it is indeed McShredd

Ray Barbee's so ill
After watching this part of Public Domain I usually had to skate so bad that I couldn't finish the rest.
3:13 Didn't know Elvis was a skateboarder too!
I think other boards around the same time had noses similar but were more ramp oriented Underhill cross etc..., Mullens' design was more street so yes and no i think is the answer.
Would watch this then head out. Before it was actually cool to be a skater
So then....I guess you weren't cool
My cousin just showed me this, it’s sick
My cousin passed from cancer about 2 months ago :/ this will remind me of him always.
