    This helps a lot! I’ve always had troubles with spins because I’m currently self taught and all of your videos have helped me since it actually explains the process of getting there

    I loved seeing how the back scratch spin wasn't perfect for you, but after a few tries, you improved it! I'm adult 4 and can do a beginning 2-foot spin, so forward one-foot spins are in my sights a bit after we get back on the ice.

      I am glad you enjoyed it! It just shows that all of us need practice, but with practice, you skills will improve. 😁

    I upgraded my spinner! Thank you so much for your review video. I got the one you recommended and I love it! It's great even if for no other reason than I don't have to have a smooth hard surface and I don't have to worry about the spinner running away from me. The room where I have the most room has an area rug so using the other spinner I have wasn't happening.
    I know I don't know you but I love you so much. I love how your eyes sparkle when you teach. I can tell this is a work of love for you. You are so much fun to watch and I love learning from you. :-)

    I find any spin on this spinner is really hard.. But I Just got it today.. Then I found your videos. I just wanted it to help with a quicker twitch and for jump rotation. Hope I get the hang of it lol

      Hey, I hope my videos have helped. Any off ice spins using a spinner are pretty tough, just try and get a few rotations.

    I hope your ankle is 100% and even stronger than ever now 🙂Please can you do the same type of video for back camel spins? I saw the normal camel spin but want to see how I could start on a spinner doing a back camel.

    I just had ankle surgery frm fracture 4months ago it's still feeling stiff
    I'm wondering you can do some advice and tips for what you did for stretching/exercises before going back to ice skate?

    Loving these videos, thank you, is it weird I’m right handed but if I was going to spin on one leg I would spin on my right leg (clockwise) 💙⛸

      Not at all, there are norms, but always exceptions to the norm. just consistently practice the same direction and you will be fine.

    You are so good! Do you teach adult beginners ice skating ? How much do you charge per hour or per 30 minutes?

    Hi Julia, have you got any advice for me to help me to stop sticking my skating hip out once I get into the spin.....is it just a case of building up my core muscles? I’m not sure how to lift my free hip, as when I did that, it threw me to much onto my outside edge??

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  3 роки тому

      Your core is so incredibly important for keeping your body upright and in control during any rotation, spins or jumps. So it could be a core issue. Without seeing your spins its hard to be able to pinpoint the exact problem. Sorry. 😕

    I really think spinner is useless. I can do backward scratch spin on a spinner, but not on ice. The feeling is different.
    I can also do front scratch spin both on ice & spinner & the feeling is so different, I think it’s not worth it even learning on a
    spinner.
