This is SHTF and prepper dream setup. Instead of buying Battery systems like goal zero. this setup with 4 x 9ah or 4 x 12ah will give the same power output and yet be useful for normal cordless operation of dewalt tools... getting my 3rd one for my shed.
@Luis Y: four 9ah batteries will give you 720Wh TOTAL .... A ~720W load is 1 hour four 12ah batteries will give you 960Wh TOTAL .... A ~960W load is 1 hour
I’m an electrician, I love it when comes to job sites with now power...one thing I would like is some type of cover where the batteries clip in, just in case you drop something on the teeth!
Hey Vince! I've had this about a year now and it's come in handy several times. Works great with my DS carrier and charges my four 9 AH flexvolt quickly. However, the other morning we had our power go out while it was -36. I brought this in the bathroom where my teenage girls were getting ready for school and plugged in one of my 1500 watt 120 heaters. It worked great for approximately 2 minutes and then the heater went out. Even the power indicator light wasn't on. So I plugged in my 2nd heater (identical the the 1st) and it did the very same thing. Tried to reset the heaters and they still didn't work. So it appears the power station fried the heaters in some way. So just a warning about these power stations when it comes to running a heater with them. Other then that, I sure love mine.
that red cover on the flex volt battery allows it to be transported by plane since you can only take 100wh max onto a plane, it splits the batteries into smaller groups
Home depot' discount at $299 I bought 3 of them 1 year half just so I rack alot of battery I love this system I used it when I do panel. change. Love this used all the time so got total of 3 flex volts 60 volts a 9 - 4 amp hour
Love it very cool guys! I’ve been considering getting one as a generator for a power outage. I’ve seen videos of people using this to power their full size fridge for up to 14 hours! That’s all I would need in a power outage, and I don’t want a noisy generator. Plus, it charges 4 batteries at once. Very cool indeed.
So will Milwaukee make something like this in m18 packout I know there doing the mx fuel version but I’m crossing my fingers hoping they’ll do a m18 version
Hay is this still worth the money or should I wait to see if they do a m18 version sense that’s what I’m on or go for the ego or wait for the mxfuel one
There have been more than a few videos that compare the Flexvolt 6.0 Ah battery to the 20V 6.0 Ah battery, and the 20V 6.0 Ah out performs the Flexvolt 6.0 Ah in every way, when used in a 20V tool. Of course the Flexvolt can be used in Flexvolt tools, where the 20V cannot.
Vince on lithium ion batteries you need to run a few charge cycles through them before they start operating nominally. I know they probably don't say that, but it really makes a difference.
VCG, can you do a test with this by using some adapters and Milwaukee batteries to see if it'll run/charge? I have all Milwaukee, but they don't make a power station like this!
You could also put extra batteries in the Dewalt ToughSystem case if you were going to use one with the power station like Vince did towards the end of the video. I've seen people fill one of those boxes entirely of 20V Dewalt batteries. The yellow organizer cups fit the 20V Dewalt Batteries perfectly, not sure how well the Flexvolt batteries fit though. Also with that Power Station you cannot use it as a charger and run something off it simultaneously.
For a future video idea, you could make like an ultimate Power Station kit like have a ToughSystem Box with extension cords power strips extra batteries, etc... have the power station on top of it so you can carry it around and have everything you need.
Been thinking about this powerstation for a while. I have to research the modified sinewave though. The saws I would run on it are Mafells, with the CUprex motors. They have some fancy electronics I wouldn't want to mess up.
Nice vid - appreciate your info - but would like to see more use with corded power tools under real or full loads - I'm a metalworker - going through wood is nothing like going through steel or alloys. Put that 'power station' to the test with a 10-15 amp grinder and cut some plate, bars, grind welds down - then plug it to a 15 amp chop saw with a 12" disk and cut some steel U-channels & rectangular tubes - if it can handle those loads in real fab shops then it's something for metalworkers.
If anyone watching this video in Canada is wanting to buy one of these. Some home depots have em on clearance right now for $277. Power station only no batteries.
Carlos de la Cruz I was on a job that went from a Kitchen remodel to basically remodeling this entire house. By the end of the job and 10’s of RACKS later I became really good friends with the owner. One day working she had her 6 grandkids over. All between the ages of 3-10. Really funny kids. I lean over to a group of them and say “Hey kids! Do you know what an inheritance is?” They all shake their heads no. I say “Good! Because after this job your grandma doesn’t have one to give you anyway!” I’m here all week people.
Carlos de la Cruz it’s not a joke. I actually said it. I also nicknamed her “Sugar Mama” because she was cutting me such large checks every month. She loves me. Hahaha
There is a HUGE misconception about this power station. People assume you take the total Ah rating of the batteries and x that by 120V to get a whipping power capacity .. NO it does not work that way. Your setup is as follows. (20V x 6ah = 120Wh) + (20V x 4ah = 80Wh @ 3 batteries = 240Wh total), so now you have a TOTAL capacity of 360Wh between all 4 batteries. If you TRY to pull 1800W from this unit it, you MAY get it for 12 minutes if your lucky ... 360Wh divided by 1800W = .2Wh x 60 min = ~12 minutes of run time. Here is the kicker, since you have three 4ah batteries and one 6ah battery, the second the 4ah batteries die off, the unit shuts down even if the 6ah still has life because the unit pulls power from the batteries at the same time... When one battery fails or faults out, it shuts down, as the three 4ah batteries die equally, the 6ah still has more juice but it does not matter... This is why you should NOT use different size Ah batteries in there, all 4 SHOULD be equal value to get the most out of all 4 batteries. SO this current setup, you WONT get 12 minutes if runtime at 1800W ... That 6ah battery will only get 4ah of usage from the power station because the other three 4 ah will die off at the same time and once those die, the 6ah should still have ~2ah of life left. But at that point it does not matter because the unit shuts down once ONE battery gives out. I put in four 9ah batteries and plugged in a 150W incandescent light bulb and got just over 4 hrs of run time ... Do the math, its there. The other issue is the MODIFIED sine wave output.... But this was designed to run power tools NOT appliances or fancy electronics ..
VCG Construction Craigs list I met a guy named Dan who has a table at a flea market in Columbus Delaware I think. If you type in skid Row in the search engine on craigslist all his stuff is linked to that. But some of his prices aren’t that great. I think he couldn’t sell it so he lowered the price. I wanted one since you posted the video on it.
Get an inverter and a few car batteries, thats better. The DCW1800 is not THAT good. Gives power for a little more than two hours . Some calculated that a fridge could run for a whole night on it or they calculated a day of watching TV etc. This power station gives up very fast if low energy consuming things are connected. Even if you just forget to switch the power station off the batteries will be drained within 2 hours .
MY BRADDAH,DAMM IT WORK,put in store#1234,GOT IT FOR $125 NOT FREAKINGJOKING,I live in hawaii but my brother lives in vancouver washington had it ship to their store and he will pick it up for.NUTZ JUST SIMPLY MIND BLOWING,MAHALOS BIG TIME BROTHER!!!!

That place doesn’t exist. I’m from. AC NJ.

Yea it does the best of both worlds!!
I can't wait to get one I need to see the battery life with x4 12ah. Should be good enough for camp sites.

Can you replace the flex volt battery for the new stack batteries?

Wow Greg thanks for the heads up, sorry to hear that!
that red cover on the flex volt battery allows it to be transported by plane since you can only take 100wh max onto a plane, it splits the batteries into smaller groups
Cool thanks for the heads up!!
HOW does it split the batteries.... Its piece of plastic ..
Home depot' discount at $299 I bought 3 of them 1 year half just so I rack alot of battery I love this system I used it when I do panel. change. Love this used all the time so got total of 3 flex volts 60 volts a 9 - 4 amp hour

Kevin Smith check out the video WorkshopAddict made on it.
I think we should test it, what do you think?
VCG Construction I agree!!!
So will Milwaukee make something like this in m18 packout I know there doing the mx fuel version but I’m crossing my fingers hoping they’ll do a m18 version
Can I use as just a generator with 4 flexvolt 9 mAh batteries(only need it for electric air compressor at times or to run my fan in enclosed trailer
Hay is this still worth the money or should I wait to see if they do a m18 version sense that’s what I’m on or go for the ego or wait for the mxfuel one
I have this with some large 12ah batteries. I ran my extra beer fridge in the garage a few hours while power went out.
Vince I believe you are right is a difference on the sound off the tool wen you swapped the batteries
i want one... just trying to decide if it is worth putting the money out on one or not

A battery powered extension cord now that’s a thought
that thing looks awesome...something you need on the jobsite....great review 👍
Thanks King, I’m liking the powerstation more every day!!
Been thinking about this powerstation for a while. I have to research the modified sinewave though. The saws I would run on it are Mafells, with the CUprex motors. They have some fancy electronics I wouldn't want to mess up.
Vince, can you tell me if this will charge 12v batteries?
It does not
Vince I still like the dewalt portable power station and you got a really good deal on it
I wish Milwaukee would come out with battery powered inverter props to Dewalt on that and, a cordless compressor would be nice to.
I’d welcome those additions!!
The compressor!
I’m sure Milwaukee will eventually copy Dewalt like they always do
None of the Home Depot stores around here have them.
Check acme tool!
I wish they sold this power station in Australia

Vince now you need the dewalt tough system radio
Richard Garner I have the radio!!!! You should be jealous.
renaissanceman devils always get the better radio's and tools
Pretty cool wish Milwaukee would make one of these
Yea we were thinking the same thing!
They will. Milwaukee copies everything DeWalt does. #justsaying.
I wish worx would make one
Wow that is a beast!! Oh and the son’s name is Steve Aoki
That's a monster charger bro. Truly awesome
I really like the fact it’s a parallel charger!!
I guess you can stick all Flexvolt 90watt batteries to power even higher demand tools like a compressor and Blowdryer??
If anyone watching this video in Canada is wanting to buy one of these. Some home depots have em on clearance right now for $277. Power station only no batteries.
Awesome thanks for sharing Mike!!
I'm tempted to pick up this kit! Vince, you're eating through my kids college fund. Lol

Vince I see what is in the box it is a 60v batterie and a box
Nice one and cool!
Thanks Kenneth!
This machine is great when it doesn't get stuck when using 90mm Merbau timber and is having 30mm sliced off.
Nice video Boss man 👍
Thanks Junior!!
I have one I power with four 9Ah batteries. It's a powerhouse!
Good lord that’s gotta be awesome, what do you power with it?

Whst are we taking here? enough power for a Washing Machine
@@K24-Zink 🤦🏿♂️doubt that
Vince I picked the dewalt power stations with no batteries brand new in the box for $150
That’s an awesome deal cuz, where did you pick it up at that price?
VCG Construction Craigs list I met a guy named Dan who has a table at a flea market in Columbus Delaware I think. If you type in skid Row in the search engine on craigslist all his stuff is linked to that. But some of his prices aren’t that great. I think he couldn’t sell it so he lowered the price. Make sure you type all in one word. Skidrow
I met that dude that owns skid row at the Columbus flea market with renaissance man!!
VCG Construction wow what a small world 🌎 did he have anything good?
Or even a battery power powered coffee thermos
Nice!
Will you ever do a dewalt giveaway?
Sure, why not! We usually do some type of gift card, but we can do a DeWalt giveaway in the future!!
Get an inverter and a few car batteries, thats better.
