I took my DCB1800 on a three day fishing trip thinking it would charge/run a bunch of stuff for me. I was running 4 fully charged 6.0 amp hour flex volts and it plugged a crock pot in it on high. I can't say I know exactly how long it ran because we left the ice house to scout around with our pullover shacks, but we came back like three hours later and it was dead. If it ran a fridge in this video for 14 hours, I wouldn't think that running a crock pot for 6 hours would be out of the question. I guess I never knew how much electricity a crock pot drew. The timer has a battery, after watching your video about the DeWalt power station I will buy one this Friday to use it to plug in my truck engine block, a few other if my friends are also looking into it, thanks.
Yes, it is only going to last as long as the smallest battery you run. As soon as one battery dies, the system shuts down. So it pulls the same power from each battery. If one is a compact battery, it wont last long.

Just stumbled upon the Milwaukee Mxfuel carry on power supply ($2000👀) n was like damn dewalt y'all let me down...only to realize dewalt already had this power station out for yrs with the same inverter system that i c the Milwaukee demo guy seem sooo proud of, smh. What's even better is bare tool is @ $482.50 and i already have 2 flexvold batteries 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 "me so happy"
I totally thought this dewalt portable charger had some type of built in battery for 500 dollars. Thanks this is the best review one it. Personally for the cost of the batteries and this device you could buy a Honda 2k generator
What is the power input requirement on this? I would like to be able to use this in conjunction with an inverter mounted in my vehicle and then on a solar power system. I am putting together components for a new modular power system like the one I did on the trailer a few years ago but trying to make it more modular portable. I ned to figure what size inverter these require and whether or not the charger will be okay with modified sine wave instead of pure sine wave. One of these units would mean in theory, that I don't need to run as many lead acid batteries in the power system in order to make it useful to run high amperage power tools.
WorkshopAddict charging power. My idea is to use this with the 9AH flexvolt batteries as the take-out power system in my service truck and then also recharge it off the off grid power system. So I just need to know if this can run its recharge capability off modified sine wave type power without overheating. That's one of the problems you can run into while charging devices like laptop power converters off a modified sine wave inverter. If I fry the Dewalt power station or the batteries it is recharging, that would suck, but I will likely try and get the extended warranty with it.
WorkshopAddict Eh, nobody seems to really know, I am probably just going to have to buy one and test it all out. I have one of the older 18v battery charger worklight combos that I did this with on a smaller scale but it was a much lower investment for testing and I never used it long term. The idea of plug and play solar generator components is pretty attractive, like plugging one of these straight into a Goal zero style setup. A lot of power gets lost on the DC/AC/DC/AC conversion process, but the give back is that it offers scaleable plug and play power systems that don't take an engineering degree to design and implement.
Hey love and really appreciate your videos! Would I be able to run the Dewalt DWPW2100 electric pressure washer on this without damaging the unit's electric motor? I ask because someone made this comment to me about it not having a true sin wave. PS. Nice ride that SS must be!

Thankyou for posting. Would there be any advantage to using Dewalt's *6ah FLEXVOLT* vs the *6ah-20v max?* I'm going to get 4 matching batteries but I'm not sure the Flexvolts are worth the extra $$$ vs the regular ones of the same ah
Stringfellow Hawke The Flexvolt batteries are 3p and the 6.0 Ah 20 volt are 2p, so you get more cells with the Flexvolt and it would give longer runtime with the extra cells.
Fantastic review! I was disappointed it only ran the workshop vac for 17minutes when a new dyson v11 with go 60minutes on torque drive. I need some answers to compare to. I just recently got mine and yeah it runs tools but in you experience does it fully power the tool the same way a wall outlet would. in my experience it under powers my 4gallon 5hp shopvac. it also struggled to power my stationary bandsaw.
Will this run the dewalt 6gal pancake air compressor all I can find is 10amps watts unknown
Question: can u this system with Car Hauler that needs power to it ?
I can power a car hauler, but will turn off after 20 minutes if it has no draw.
@@WorkshopAddict so if I draw no power from the unit it turns off and if I run power from it for an event it will stay on ? planing on buying more batteries trying to stay away from loud generators
@@NelioJViana Yes, if you draw power often, it will stay running. If it sits for 20 minutes without use, it will turn off.
Can you passthrough power???
IS THIS A GOOD OPTION FOR A DIY ELECTRIC BICYCLE?
It is an interesting option. It would run a small motor for a very long time. What do you plan to use as a motor?
tom higgins
You're much better off using electric scooter batteries available online. The Dewalt batteries are very expensive per Ah and most motors are designed for 24v-48v DC not 120v AC like this puts out.
Need to 5000 BTU Air conditioner,How long will it run? takes 550/hr (almost 4 hr)think that's right,Thanks
Would do 4 hours with four 9 Ah batteries.
@@WorkshopAddict thanks
What about a portable AC unit? To run in my pop up trailer. How long would it run a 10,000 btu
Very impressive review being able to weld with it impressive
Thanks for the review, very informative and interesting. Thank you for sharing and your time
So the biggest question I have if I bought 2 n used one as a power source to supply power to the other that is charging would battery bank A die before battery bank 2 is fully charged....🤔
What is the biggest battery that will fit on it?
Does this run festool ts55 plunge saw?
Yes, it will without issue.
@@WorkshopAddict that's what I thought but my ts55 doesnt work while plugged into power station ..
It should
Just stumbled upon the Milwaukee Mxfuel carry on power supply ($2000👀) n was like damn dewalt y'all let me down...only to realize dewalt already had this power station out for yrs with the same inverter system that i c the Milwaukee demo guy seem sooo proud of, smh. What's even better is bare tool is @ $482.50 and i already have 2 flexvold batteries 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 "me so happy"
Is it true that Milwaukee baterys are interchangable with dewalt?
Dose this unit have USB outlet?
It does not.
Is it support 220 volt?
I totally thought this dewalt portable charger had some type of built in battery for 500 dollars.
Thanks this is the best review one it. Personally for the cost of the batteries and this device you could buy a Honda 2k generator
can you run a 30gal husky compresor gear lubed one....its rated 15amp....and if so how long.. I like how you applied real condition use test....
john w the question I have is how many watts does it take while running?
What is the power input requirement on this? I would like to be able to use this in conjunction with an inverter mounted in my vehicle and then on a solar power system. I am putting together components for a new modular power system like the one I did on the trailer a few years ago but trying to make it more modular portable. I ned to figure what size inverter these require and whether or not the charger will be okay with modified sine wave instead of pure sine wave. One of these units would mean in theory, that I don't need to run as many lead acid batteries in the power system in order to make it useful to run high amperage power tools.
Power input as in charging power or Dewalt battery power?
WorkshopAddict charging power. My idea is to use this with the 9AH flexvolt batteries as the take-out power system in my service truck and then also recharge it off the off grid power system. So I just need to know if this can run its recharge capability off modified sine wave type power without overheating. That's one of the problems you can run into while charging devices like laptop power converters off a modified sine wave inverter. If I fry the Dewalt power station or the batteries it is recharging, that would suck, but I will likely try and get the extended warranty with it.
Great question. I focused so much on what it can do, I never did any research on how you could charge it.
Yes, that PW would be fine on a modified sine wave
@@WorkshopAddict Thank You!
So I have auto detailing business and I need a power source but I don’t want a generator, I mostly run a shop vacuum, extractor and polishers so this unit is not going to work aah, ?.
do they still make these things?
Yes they do. Hard to find currently with the current situation.
kind of off topic when I was at homedepot this morning picking up some supplies for a solar powered device the tool guy showed me this and was telling me a lot of guys love this charger and power station for off grid camping trips im on the fence about getting this. It looks very well made and easy to use. any suggestions?
Thankyou for posting. Would there be any advantage to using Dewalt's *6ah FLEXVOLT* vs the *6ah-20v max?* I'm going to get 4 matching batteries but I'm not sure the Flexvolts are worth the extra $$$ vs the regular ones of the same ah
Stringfellow Hawke The Flexvolt batteries are 3p and the 6.0 Ah 20 volt are 2p, so you get more cells with the Flexvolt and it would give longer runtime with the extra cells.
Has somebody tested it with like a fan to sleep, like how much time could you get using a fan if the power went out..?
That's interesting I sleep with a fan too I have the power station I'll do a test and see for you.
Fantastic review! I was disappointed it only ran the workshop vac for 17minutes when a new dyson v11 with go 60minutes on torque drive. However running a fridge freezer for that long is impressive and i would probably use one to run a Festool mitre saw which still sadly aren’t cordless yet 🙄 so i guess that would be similar to your 66+ cuts. 👌🏼
Gotta remember they used the smaller capacity batteries for the vac
can it charge a 60v electric bike
Like a Suron X? Yes, it will, but remember you lose about 20% of the batteries watt hours used in the conversion to AC. So you will need to use larger batteries. 8.0 Ah 20 volts or 9Ah Flexvolts
How many price. And duty hours
Anyone know if this would work with Milwaukee batteries with a battery adapter?
So I'm assuming this will run a DeWalt 20gal compressor with 4 9AH batteries?
It should, no issue, as long as it is 15 amp.
I have used it with a Jackhammer. I am a plumber it's very handy..and it charge all 4 at the same time
Could you do a review on this product for me, I sell lamps at a flea market, (indoor) that I dont have an accessible outlet. I currently have about 30 lamps, that I would like to power simultaneously, I am wondering what my run time would be if I used this as a power source. I each lamp would have a 60w led buld which uses 8w.
Will they make thie with an eu plug?
Always great videos
thank you so much for the review, one question about how much weld time could you get?(like tubing, angles etc) thank you!!
I wonder how long it will runs a space heater?
I ran a space heater with one I had 1 20v max 6 AH battery, 2 flexvolt 6 AH batteries, and 1 9 AH flexvolt battery it only ran for 18 minutes straight before my non flexvolt battery gave out I let sit for awhile and my 9 AH battery said it still had 2 and a half bars left and my 2 6 AH flexvolt batteries said they had 2 bars left so I think if I had all 9 AH batteries it would run for much longer I wasn't that impressed with it but in all fareness it was a pretty big space heater and was kind of asking a lot of the power station.
If we use 4 x 60V battery, is not become 240Volt ???
That is not how this unit works. It uses the batteries in the 20-volt mode.
So this wuld be like runtime of 8 20v baterys depending of the amps for each batery
Can you charge this on solar? If so, this thing is going overlanding and boating with me and back up power on standby at home!
Not at this point.
Hello can someone please tell me if the batteries 20v max 15amps exist? Happens sell only the power station without batteries and the batteries sold separately are not 20v- 15 amps, so l do not know if it works with other DeWalt batteries with fewer amps. l appreciate if you can help me
