DeWalt truly are making the world a better place.
It's refreshing for a video maker to tell us that they're being sponsored in big clear letters at the very beginning of the video, thank you.
Because he said it clearly, with a huge DeWalt emblem in the middle of the screen, in the first 3 seconds of the video. He didn't mutter it at the end or put a tiny transparent emblem in the bottom right corner.
If you (Wranglerstar) have been blessed with the opportunity to use and review and to plug these products, I say more power to you! I am a very young man, and I have dipped into the name brand tools a little... I'm here to say that every time I use a Dewalt, it puts a smile on my face with the ergonomics to the features... they are top tier... and to see you approving their product seals the deal as me being a "Dewalt man"... Don't have shame for plugging a product. Enjoy it! God bless.
Lol I've owned my 12" dewalt compound miter saw for about 4 years now and I literally just now noticed the light on the blade.
Lol..,!!!!! It happens man...😂😂😂
You need help
Lol beat this , my dewalt 12 inch was not working properly , i moaned so much my boss bought me a new one . He later found out it was the speed dial was turned right down . I to did not even realise the saw had one 😳
@@raymondpiper8294 I may have to check to see if mine has that as well 😂😂
send them to AVE for a " tool review" haha
need to find out if they're skookum
skookum as f*ck!! let's see how they chooch!
sassparilla kid
hahaha so true! " ah shit! she's all dickered!!!
. . . them DeWilt batteries are loaded with pixie dust . . .
True that! Mr B will give a real test for sure!
Your endorsement means more than any guarantee from a manufacturer because I know you wouldn't support something you don't trust and rely on. Thanks.
TCW81 because Makita makes good tools as well.
I am a makita guy. but makita doesn't have the cordless table saw and compound mitre saw. and the battery bank is pretty slick too... Is there room for blue AND yellow in my shop? hmmm
+TCW81 I also remember when he was plugging Makita cordless drills but I think he paid for the Makita tools. I bought a new Makita set for Christmas, not only on his recommendation but also because I went and looked at all the major brands, the Makitas just stood out to me. That said I also have been looking at these Dewalt flex volt tools and I am impressed. I have no need for the drill but that power bank and tablesaw are awesome!! I often work in areas with no power or inconvenient power and cordless is making that easier b
COWs of Suffolk I talked to dewalt at a trade show. Be sure to look at the draw on the system. It doesn't last long with much load. Good to know before spending 300$
Pretty sure he was hoping Makita would reach out and sponsor him because they are actually his favorite brand. When they didn't step up he went with DeWalt? I don't blame him. Makita has a history of not being youtube friendly, just ask Samurai.
"this is the same system we use in the EMT"
me: "you store your patients vertically when not in use?"
Only the ones that can't cut the mustard.
Well yeah, is that a problem?
Lmao
I’m a contractor and only use Dewalt, went through many brands throughout my many years of flipping homes and Dewalt is hands down the toughest and most reliable. From the tools to the blades to the tool boxes they are superior with Milwaukee being the closest thing to competition.
Watching a video in the old shop REALLY shows why you wanted to remodel it. What a difference!!
Wesley Aring I WONDERED why everything was so dark and crowded and why he suddenly was overweight compared to his last video!!
@@sueleigh1018 l
You should renovate your shop with the cordless tools.
Irfan Ajmal that's the joke...
The 60v table saw, is truly the biggest reason I was able to gain any momentum in my self taught journey in learning carpentry/woodworking/milling. I also have to do a lot of my work after I get off the clock at the day job, the quieter brushless motor is quiet enough to use in the attached garage that’s currently acting as my shop with no worry about disturbing anyone asleep inside, or my neighbors.
"This is not an infomercial". Proceeds with infomercial.
Love how it does not actually explain flexvolt.
There should be a subscriber giveaway to go along with this sponsorship
I love Dewalt. Someday I will fill my garage with them.
Awesome video! We love our Dewalt power station and are amazed of the power!
Landberg Tile DIY TV wonder if it supports 230v or only 110v 🤔
I live in DK and we have 230v in all wall outlets
I would be a good alternative to a generator
The new dewalt grinders are awesome, they are pretty quiet and it has a automatic brake so you don’t have to wait for it to slow down. May not sound like a big deal but if your using a grinder a lot that brake comes in handy
back in the day my ass that reciprocating saw has a quick change 😂
Ryan Oliver i saw that too lol
Too funny. Back in the day you needed an Allen key.
Quick change has been around for at least twenty years. Most of my adult life
I still have my first Sawzall, bought it in 2003, it has a quick change
@@tmghn1 yes but back in the days for this guy...it will b the 80s...2003 its not back in the days.
You should use the tools to remodel the shop :) .... nice review.
Land to House. Funny to c ur watching same videos as me .I watched ur videos awesome job loved all of them
Your video just put tears on my eyes. I thought I was the only GC that struggled working 60+ hrs a week. And Dewalt has certainly made my work easier on all the tools I’ve ever bought from them. Quality and ergonomics are certainly in their minds.
THE BEST brand in tools when it comes down to profesional grade tools for the price.
Contractor from Sweden here, I can from +10 years of construction as both plumber and carpenter say that DeWalt is good quality, hands down the best gear, I fint NO FAULT in advocating its use, Mr Wranglerstar, I'm glad you got a good deal, looking forward to more videos where you do things around the homestead with your new tools! God Bless.
I think you may need a new mailbox.
LOL! You're paying attention... :)
My dad has been in construction his whole life. He swears by Dewalt.
Sounds like a fanboy
I have been self employed doing home remodeling for 20 years now. I can appreciate the ease of moving those heavy cumbersome tools and storing them. My body aches more and more every year. The high end Dewalt saws and drills are all I have ever used since the start. Thanks for the awesome tool review! - Glen
As a person who knows little about tools and an trying to "Catch Up" late in my life I appreciated every bit of this video.
As far as the anger I hear in everyone pointed at Cody over a simple basic overview I just don't understand, he has conducted himself with integrity in everything I have watched even when he has misstepped and had to apologize.
Did everyone see his video on how You Tube is changing and making hard on anyone they deem to offer viewpoints they disagree with....this is going to change You Tube forever on every channel you watch...Walk a mile in his shoes..
It did feel like a DeWalt advertisement but everything he said was 100% in my opinion as I have used and own DeWalt tools and the are of the best quality in my opinion.
You obviously have never used a Bosch tool, because you wouldn't be feeling this way if you have. Bosch tools are #1
You've obviously never used a DeWalt tool, because you wouldn't be feeling this way if you have. DeWalt tools are #1.
Give us a break, fellas. Brand A is the best ... No, brand X is the best! The fact is that all of the cordless tool manufacturers have certain strengths. DeWalt makes great miter saws, Bosch makes great sanders, Milwaukee makes a fantastic impact driver, on and on and on. None of these huge manufacturers stands out as "the best." Please think for yourself and knock off the cheerleading.
Had a few bad experences with Bosch, only good with Dewalt. Will be buying one of the hinged compound miter saws from Bosch though for the space saving.
Travis Edwards
if keeping sawdust contained is any kind of priority...DONT DO IT!!! Even bosch themselves admit the dust collection system sux....I had one, LOVED everything about the way it worked, cut, moved and everything....EXCEPT the fact that it threw MDF dust ALL OVER...no vac port would work...I tried several variations of vac pickups, but it blows the dust forwards....useless if you do finishing inside high end homes :(
Dewalt "The tool box is open" OMG. I would kill to hear those words from them. You are so lucky to have this opportunity. I am envious. Great first review. I look forward to many others. Use those tools hard!!!! LOL.
yea...id give exasperating reviews too if I had their tool line at my disposal. I love my Dewalts but simply can't afford each item, so I struggle with my old corded items.
I'm buying into the flexvolt. Getting a framing saw. I'll then use the batteries on a jigsaw. Then I noticed the chainsaw and was like, holy hell it has to stop somewhere!
Cody, this is actually one of the best info-mercials I've seen in quite a while. I used to proudly say I was an all-Dewalt shop user. Over the past few of years I have been replacing my Dewalt with Festool and Mafell as my budget permitted. My initial reaction to the 20 volt product line was it was just a scam to get users to buy all new Dewalt stuff which was not compatible with the older tools. I see I was wrong. The new new 20 volt Flexvolt line is a real game changer -- they're putting out some really innovative and quality products once again.
The DeWault FlexVolt system is impressive. The portable compound miter saw and the table saw and how they are integrated into the flexvolt system is genius.
Yeah, this _was_ an infomercial. The title implies, though, that it's gonna be the typical warning, rather than praise, so I figured, "Hm, I better watch this, because I own a boatload of Dewalt tools" - all of which I love, btw.
Fair enough,
Yeah. Milwaukee! I really like my super sawsall, 8" skillsaw, holeshooter, 1/2" right angle drill and 1/2 page orbital sander. They'll last me forever. I'm not professional daily on site though.
Night Rider: My sole Milwaukee tool is a Sawzall. When I was shopping for that sort of tool, I talked to several professionals. The universal recommendation was to get the real and genuine Milwaukee Sawzall. So I took my Craftsman variety back for a refund and got the Milwaukee tool. Been glad I did. However, if DeWalt has matched or exceeded the Milwaukee, I don't know. In this day of technology it may have happened. But I do know I want that blade case.
I have done a lot of mortuary work in a building 100 years old. A lot of maintenance and changes were required through the years. That was part of my job. Unlike so many companies, mine let me use my own tools. Mostly Craftsman. Some cordless items, some older and traditional. My two complaints, at the level of work I was doing, is the battery system. But in fairness I must say most of my battery tools from Craftsman are a bit older. And they HAVE been improving things. Most of what I ask is that charging stations will fully charge a battery and shut off when the full charge is reached. I want there to be no chance of a battery being damaged. Is the answer a Dewalt type battery system? Other than that I would add that the keyless chuck needs work. My "key" is a pair of Channel locks. So I can get a better grip on drills and other accessories.
Allan Anderson : Try not to get in habit in thinking all of one company's tools are the best. Or you'll find yourself regretting a purchase.
I got bunch of different tools from craftsman, rigid, milwaukee and makita. For instance when I has researching on portable borescopes I found two similar ones. Milwaukee at $129 and a rigid at $99. After some research I found that the Milwaukee is overpriced and actually under performs to the rigid one.
One thing to keep in mind with the modern battery tools is there's a benefit to stick with one brand because you can swap batteries between them.
watching this makes me wish even more that i lived in the US. the flex volt rage are not available in my country
Good presentation. I come from a construction family and know what you were talking about. The progress in tool making is amazing!
Interestingly, UA-cam put a DeWalt FlexVolt tool commervial in the middle of your presentation. Good choice and good timing for once, UA-cam!
"Go try that with your table saw"
My table saw has a 3hp motor😂😂
So this infomercial was filmed in the old shop when these tools were brand new and unused?
Lots of praise for tools that haven't been put through their paces yet.
I hope you come back to this review on a year and give us a real review. I won't go out and drop $799 on a miter saw, and $599 on a table saw just because they're "new and improved."
Agree with you 100%.
The Wrangler Star Channel - Where homesteading meets QVC :P
As a high school wood shop student I can confirm that the dewalt miter saw’s features are extremely useful and I couldn’t imagine not having the light.
I bought 6 of those 60 volt batteries this last year for my concrete company, they honestly have changed the game for me. I've been using cordless 18 and 20 volt dewalt since they came out, and they're nice, but the 60's last all week in my impacts, and all day if not longer in my hammer drills for drilling holes for rebar into slabs. All this works on my 20 volt tools I already own. They can't be beat in my opinion. I can't judge the other brands, because I've been committed to Dewalt for years and I don't want multiple brands of chargers and batteries taking up space in my toolboxes on my trucks.
I would like to see the large tools like table saw, and mitre saw have a 110v plug as well so you could use it if you had power. Just my thought.
Dewalt sells a miter saw adapter with a plug for the Flexvolt saw.
i agree !!!
Darrell Geerlinks i own both, they totally do... not only battery powered, 120 hookup as well..
Makita does
When did you originally make this video? The old shop really makes you appreciate the new shop. Have a great day.
Definitely changed my mind on the worth of the flexvolt, I work for a sign installation company where the hours are borderline mental and we may be out working for 12+ hours most days of the week, knowing this battery is so versatile makes me more apt to purchase it, especially the mobile charging/power station! 👍
Great tools I buy 1 for my Son every time he comes home from Sea
try the (Lightweight brushless oscillating Multitool) you will love it !!!! I don't know how i lived without it.
Maybe I am just getting old. Maybe I don't use battery tools as often as I use to. I have gone back to corded tools. They still work good after 20-30years. I don't have keep buying batteries or have obsolete generation batteries around. If I used a lot I would have no issue with battery units.
I have 6 batteries, have only needed one as it last all week of 12 HR use all day everyday. So I actually have 5 backup batteries
Corded are amazing but the best point he made was that I could be forking out in a pastor and still have that umph I need to get a job done
This would make your corded tools , cordless ! It’s a power station!
Mister Myxlplyx it’s not that people dont want or need corded it’s the fact that batteries will soon take over . Power walls are becoming more common . Electric cars and trucks are actually becoming a thing . 18650 lithium ion batteries check it out . I saws these on two job sites already this year . I bought one for myself . They charge my 20 v line of dewalt tools and also my 60 v and 120 volt table saw and mitre saws also I can use it for back up power when there’s an outage here . No noise no carbon monoxide . So I think it’s great . But I also have an open mind to many things . You shouldn’t knock something based on your biased opinion.
I have 2 cordless dewalt hammer drills and they both broke im a Milwaukee man now never looking back
I cannot believe how powerful and versatile cordless tools have become over the years - just boggles the mind
Impressive tools! I have a 4 piece drill, recip saw, small circ saw, and flex flashlight combo purchased at a big box retailer in 1999 and it is still going strong on home improvement duty. These new tools look like they are more ergonomic and obviously contractor grade compared to my light duty Dewalt kit. Video was well done, keep up the great work!
I'd love to have some of these! I have my bench saw on the floor in my garage currently. What a pain it is to use! Thank Cody
If that workshop isn't a fire risk I don't know what is 🤣 Good review
after this video came out, I stepped into the world of buying my own power tools. I immediately knew I wanted flexvolt and the first tool I bought was the angle grinder. I used that at a job when I was working for my dad where we remodeled a Marina in Lake county, IL, and I needed to cut all of the white pvc off of every pipe on every pier on the property. keep in mind every pier had 6-8 pipes with pvc on them, and there were over 150 piers, so I had well over 1000 cuts to make. we had 3 choices- use a corded angle grinder with a generator, use a partner saw, or use my flexvolt. by using the generator, corded angle grinders, partner sawa and skid steer to our pier fabrication instead of using them to cut pvc, we saved enough money to buy multiple flexvolt angle grinders. definitely a production grade line of tools that can be relied on and make you more money. thank you for the recommendation! my tools have served me very well the past few years
Work for the park service and this last season we started phasing in flexvolt tools because it let's us keep using all our 20v and I have been INSANELY impressed with the tools. The 60V circular saw blew threw a 12 foot rip cut on a rough cut 3x12 in the field with zero bogging down and for light to moderate trail clearing on potentially crowded trail the 60v chainsaw is a dream because battery life is fantastic, significantly less weight for both saw and fuel, and the best part is no hearing protection required making communication (and therefore safety) with swampers and civilians much easier
thanks for letting us know that you and DeWalt are now dating.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wouldnt mind dating milwuakee🤷🏽♂️
Just saiyan
Canoga Parque 818 super saiyan even.
Americans stick to American companies. All you Milwaukee fans, are a sell out to China!
@@vasilhrisca5536 you do know a lot of DeWalt tools are also not made in the USA?
I’ve cut down entire trees with a recip saw just to see if I could do it-it was a little rough on the batteries and got them a bit hot but got it done
Project idea: Build a smart wood storage shelter: keeping it dry and accessible.
You can have mulitiple storages away from your home, put the logs on a portable pallet construction and use your forklift to get it where you need it.
Agreed, and an opportunity to use your Flexvolt tools.
I just ran out my house to buy EVERYTHING DEWALT !!!! THANKS !!! 4 TIP !!!
Ohhhh the fight is ON, Milwaukee is great no doubt, but there are differences such as 60 volts, such as "when you install a bit, into a screw gun, "ie, it goes right in WITHOUT pushing the lock assy. back, and more...
Yes again, Milwaukee is great like DeWalt but each has their own place, SO pick in choose your fight.
For the record, I am a GC & an Electrician, plus I have Multiple years as an Auto Dealer Technician.
I use both BRANDS, one at my job all day long, the other, in my own Business Again all day long...
So please no fighting, but these are the only two Tool Manufactures that I trust 100%
How about a mailbox post ;>)
I didn't realize that the Sliding Compound Miter saw also had a port for a cord so you can plug it in for shop use. I think that is brilliant! You probably already have one, but I think a chicken coop would be the perfect project to use these tools. Typically a chicken coop is away from the house and probably just far enough that using a extension cord or a generator would or could be a pain!!
What he said was true , he didn't compare DeWalt to other manufacturers like Makita or Milwaukee and try and convince DeWalt was the best.
He just mentioned why he likes the DeWalt tools and the convenient benefits of them . Fair video tbh . They are very good wireless tools , good build and quality!
Wow... the complainers must be sleeping in! I'll take this opportunity to say thank you for all of the wonderfully produced content and creative titles. God bless, sir.
Second that. Pretty amazing.
. . . the Occupy UA-cam Squatters . . .
I loath, despise, HATE, (too strong but close), infomercials.... but I stuck with you all the way on this one. You hit on every itch I've had regarding cordless tools and it appears DeWalt has remedied them and added some bonuses that I hadn't thought of yet. I especially like the miter saw blade guide that uses LED and a blade shadow rather than a laser that's never where it ought to be. Thanks for a great “boots on the ground” review of this line of tooling.
Thank you Tyler, I appreciate your comment,
How is the shadow superior to the laser? In addition, I think the laser might be superior because if it's very sunny out you might not see the shadow.
Good question. The laser is a projected beam that has to be aimed at where the edge of the blade is expected to meet material. Blades can have different kerf which would put that aim point in the wrong place. A shadow is always a shadow and adjusts automatically. You have a good point regarding a laser's brightness and for framing it will normally be plenty accurate enough. In an inside shop I would opt for the shadow effect but for onsite framing, the laser might be a better option.
I had a big cabinet shop for a number of years and in 2012 all of my assemblers started using the 12 V Dewalt drills and drivers. Those drills went through heavy use eight hours a day five days a week for three years. Never a single issue except the driver would sometimes stop retaining the bits. I still have and currently use those drivers. They’ve just never quit. Even the original batteries are still in use.
My company invested quite a bit of money in the 20v line when they came out mostly because they were the only decent cordless vacuum. We’ve switched over now almost completely to Milwaukee. Maybe it’s a wash for most weekend warriors but when you use tools hard and cycle batteries everyday, you learn a few things. One, batteries and chargers are the most important part of the equation. Two, your tools are worthless if you can’t rely on them. We had endless issues with batteries with DeWalt. Chargers thought dead 20v batts were fully charged 18v batteries. You’d grab a fresh battery to find out it’s dead. Batteries didn’t last long. Chargers died or would end up telling you every battery was “bad”. DeWalt was great with support, even sending us replacements but we couldn’t do that dance any longer. Milwaukee came out with a nice cordless vacuum and their impacts/drills/drivers were well respected. We went red and never looked back. Now we’re on the Fuel Brushless line, still rocking the same batteries, some 3-5 years old at this point. Same old chargers, still rocking, no Bluetooth needed. Hopefully DeWalt will resurrect those qualities that made them a household name to begin with.
Never expected a commercial from you Cody
What do you think the use of the Tractor is? Or the wood processor? or the saw mill? It's all the same.
All that stuff is given to him for simply a good word on his channel: advertising and not so impartial comment. At least now he's not breaking UA-cams rules in this video; by not disclosing that the products reviewed are given free.
Matthew Weber i
I know I am SO jealous too.
The quality (or lack thereof) of DeWalt drill bits has been a disappointment in recent years. If only they matched the quality of their cases.
This has been my experience as well. Tool Build quality has been good but drill bit and saw blade quality has been much lower than other options for about the same price.
halnywiatr Thank you for saying that! I have been saying that forever. My DeWalt power tools are the best, but the bits and blades are just the worst. DeWalt metal sawzall blades are one and done, just terrible.
My dewalt 20 volt driver can snap a no 2 phillips bit clean in half
My brother and I build wood fences on the weekends for extra cash and i absolutely love all DeWalt tools. Everything they make just makes sense
1462 people, and everyone that shot negative comments are just jealous that they didn't get sponsored by Dewalt. Keep making videos, haters gonna hate
Is this in the old shop?
mr10man69 no its not, look at the roof- no panels
Tyler 48019 Cody has a couple 2-3 different shops. I believe thats the one he uses for fabrication and mechanical work, the remodel is just the wood shop.
sorry closer look thats the wood shop before remodel
He is doing the commercial before he uses the tools to build the shop
Why didn't you put this video up when you first recorded this video
I had no idea they made a 60v reciprocating saw!!! That thing must be a monster.
I knew that if these tools got a thumbs up from you then they were worth buying! You are right these tools are the best money can buy! I just added the 60v table saw and a combination drill/hammer drill to my arsenal and they are both incredible and CORD FREE!!! Thanks you rock!!!
I've just recently bought a DeWalt cordless impact driver, although the brand is not really known too well in Europe. I would've gone with a Makita, but they seem to be having quality issues as of late. So far it seems to be a solid tool, I'm glad I went for it.
Dewalt is not known in Europe ?? man where you live and live if you say that dewalt is not known in europe. There is a big gap if you compare the quality of makita to dewalt. I have most of the dewalt tools and the festool wouldn't trade them for anything else.
I'm glad you let us know up front that Dewalt paid for this video. I also had an idea for another video. how about you come back to these tools in a few months to a year and let us know how they hold up. Any tool can do the job for a month, these Flex Volt tools are pricey, I'm interested in what kind of longevity they have.
Aaron Johnson I could show you my 7 years old DeWalt impact drill. Yes I'm a Carpenter woman, working daily my hardest protect was to build a u-haul storage ( iron mostly) and my drill is still going!!
I have nothing to do with the brand or the guy of the video but I can tell All my tools are wireless DeWalt 4 a reason 😉
Yeah..my circular saw killed two 9ah batteries after using the neighbors fast charger off and on for a month.. that sure pleases me.. $150/battery is only 15 hours of my time thrown away..plus another 15 hours to buy new ones..so whats a week tossed off for batteries !
Ingrid Belfiglio he did say he wanted to know about flexvolt specifically though. Same tools and build quality, more power.
Aaron Johnson I had my table saw, miter saw, power station since 2016 and I still use them in 2020! They are solid built!
Did anyone else notice the quick power cord removal when he mentions being in the field and not having power available :D :D :D
I recently dropped Milwaukee for DeWalt. Milwaukee (along with even Makita) seem to be now exclusively made in China! For said reasons, I made the switch.
Power station I agree with your thoughts add a couple fast charging 3.0 USB ports and a solar panel would be amazing
The cordless game has changed. The only thing I can think of someone might want a corded tool of is a Chop Saw or Table Saw if your doing a ton of volume. I'm more invested in the Milwaukee M18 line personally but the Dewalt FV stuff seems to be really nice. The only tool I have heard people were somewhat disappointed in was the FV recip saw it vibrates and bucks a bit more than the M18 Fuel Sawzall its not a bad saw just not as nice as the Milwaukee i think its a weight thing with the Dewalt the Milwaukee is like a pound heavier. Anyways if your a person that was annoyed by cordless tools 10to15 years ago the game has changed with the new high capacity Lithium Ion batteries.
will Milwaukee. make a table saw?
Wow crazy to see Wranglestar in this when I’m so used to watching his content today lol
I work Dewalt drill machine. I do sliding Windows work at the thane and kalwa city (maharatra) mumbai from 2004. Today's 23 April 2018.dewalt drill machine perfect every time. Thanks Dewalt .
I recall, during the tree house build, you purchased Makita drills to replace your limping Dewalt. Cordless tools are convenient, however every few years the "volts" are increased and now my tools are obsolete. 12v, 14.4v, 18v, flexvolt 60. Will the turnover ever end?
Mr Sorensen agreed I'm probably a little younger so I jumped in right after the 18 volts nevertheless very aggravating to to go to Home Depot and see that my tools are obsolete
They sell adapters for the 18v, so you can slide in any of the new batterys. Still using my 18v drills, but with the juice of the new technology.
They arnt 60v they are 54v same as the 20v max are actually 18v same as Milwaukee and Makita 20vmax and flexvolt are brands
@@awsomedude12345678 do some research. They are actually 20.5 volts
@@MasonDoctor They are 18 volt. They contain 5 3.7 volt cells, or 10 ( 5+5 parallel). When 5 of these 18650 cells are fully charged, you can get 4.1 volts each, but only for a few seconds of use. All other 18 volt batteries will also read 20 volts when fully charged. toolguyd.com/dewalt-20v-max-18v/
If this is past wranglerstar, should we warn him about the upcoming snow and how his mailbox is in grave danger?? Oh, maybe we should tell him that 'he who trolls shall leave thine tools outside by mistake'...
GPG Studios I
Waiting for DeWalt to be like “Here’s our new DeWalt Airplane. It runs off of 2 of our batteries. It can also transform into a submarine, or a spaceship”
I got the 60V circular saw for doing roofing vent hole cuts. Nothing worse than hauling an extension cord up 2-3 stories just to make a 12x12 cut or a ridge cut for venting. It is ridiculously powerful and long lasting. Beats any cordless and corded circular saw I've used. Battery is a little heavy but that can be a plus giving a good weight to the saw.
You are correct, no one would turn down new tools. But to claim this is not an Infomercial is a stretch. Call it what it is .... a payback for expensive free tools.
Actually, I think it's part of a bigger deal than the free tools. He got the free tools just for agreeing to use them in his videos. To make a 20 minute infomercial must have cost DeWalt some serious coin for Mr. Wranglerstar...and good for him!
free or not, Cody would have also given a negative review with all the details, if he had a bad experience with the tools.
Small price for Dewalt to pay (even though that's retail) for direct access to over 160,000 people and growing.
All of these tool review guys are constantly praising this bullshit, and now referral linking to get people to buy it. Its getting hard to find honest reviews now.
I agree, but I've seen Wranglerstar give bad reviews to free stuff before. Even stuff and companies that he loves. Remember when he went off on that fancy ax maker that he went on and on about? I remember other times too. I truly believe he would be honest and tell us if he thought the tools weren't worthy. For whatever reason people seem to love to hate Wranglerstar these days. It's become cool apparently. I think it's ridiculous. He's a stand up dude who is trying to make money just like the rest of us.
i too will gladly sell my soul to Dewalt for some free tools
Jeremy now that’s commitment
Started with a Yankee in 1964, Sioux air drivers until 1988, then Makita.. My son bought me a DeWalt last year but I still like my Makita drivers.
I'm also a Dewalt fan boy. I've rebuilt 5 homes and they've never let me down.
Did you say in a previous video how you get calls every day to do sponsored videos and TV shows and you don't do it because it isn't genuine?
Pretty sure it was when you were having issues with the tractor hydraulic plumbing fittings.
I'm glad you disclosed the sponsorship up front. I tried, but I could only make it 4 minutes. Because I love your channel, I left a comment and a thumbs up, but, um, yeah.
The reciprocating blade container is awesome
I have quite a few DeWalt tools. My oldest DeWalt is a 60 year old 10" radial arm saw. I actually remember my Dad buying it bran new. I've had it for 27 years and still use it regularly. I bet it weighs more than all your DeWalt tools combined. I guess it is staying right where it is.
*THIS is the proper way to do a sponsored video*
ManWhoLovesWomen I agree
Says not a infomercial, Brags on them for 20 minutes on how awesome they are.
I’m leaning tword Makita, Japanese Quality design and build.
Hitachi is Japanese.
@@antislavemindset Hitachi is also out of business... They are Metabo now
Makita is now made in China
I had all Makita and Milwaukee until flexvolt came out now I have a lot of cordless DeWalt tools. The flexvolt line has the best tools out there.
I'm always interested in watching a sponsored video from you, because I respect your opinion. It helps me consider tool purchases. Thanks!
Mmm... time traveled to the old shop
I use and absolutely LOVE DEWALT tools.
Sorry to read so many negative comments below. Cody states he used all the tools extensively except the table saw and he just cut a 2" piece of hickory with it. I am impressed with the bases on the miter and table saws. I used a Dewalt table saw for cutting aluminum as well as miter saw for same as well as brass (just need proper blades and cutting wax). I worked in the metal trades for over 30 years and as far as I'm concerned only Milwaukee is in the same league with Dewalt when it comes to handheld power tools.
I don't feel like I'm listening to a "greasy salesman" at all as Cody has never struck me as being dishonest or disingenuous. He talks about what impresses him and he was truthful. That power station is impressive with the inverter on it. Sorry so many commentators are cynical and don't trust what Cody says about himself. If you feel that way why do you watch him?
I have no problem with paid reviews, or sponsorships if I know that they are paid/sponsored. However I do find it kind of disconcerting that you have been really pushing the dewalt name for the last month or so prior to releasing the information that you were being sponsored. You never made mention that any of these were given to you free of charge to review in any of the videos where you talked about them previously which is unfortunate.
I don't know your agreement that you made with Dewalt, whether you were not allowed to share that it was sponsored prior to this video. But you had plenty of chances to at least share the fact that you were doing a review of their products before pushing their use in multiple videos prior to this one.
This seriously upsets you? I mean, first off what business is it of yours anyway? But if you couldn't figure out Dewalt gave him those tools then you are a fool. After all, many other channels also got new cordless Dewalt tools. I think you just need something to criticize him about. Seriously, Nathan, find something better to be upset about.
I have never criticized him or his videos. I have always thought that his content is great. I also generally don't agree with most of the criticism he has received, as I agree that he should be allowed to make the content that he wants to make. However I think it is a bit daft of you to say that I am a fool for believing that he wasn't given these tools months ago for free. The tools weren't all introduced at once, so why should I have believed that this is what happened. I first noticed the energy bank in a video of him making a snow fort with his son. Why would this make me believe that it was a paid advertisement? Or the brief glimpses of miter saws or table saws during his latest workshop overhaul. My problem is not that he was paid to make these endorsements or that he got free tools, but she should have disclosed that months ago when they started popping up in his videos.
Also "After all, many other channels also got new cordless Dewalt tools." is a very pointless statement as I likely don't subscribe to those channels. This is the only "homesteading" channel that I sub too. Take a bit of your own advice and instead of getting upset over my personal opinion, "find something better to be upset about."
Nathan Marshall
Okay, but the bottom line still remains, why do you care? What difference does it make if he bought the tools or Dewalt gave them to him or maybe he stole them from the Home Depot. What difference does it make.
I think you are still misunderstanding. I don't mind the paid promotion as long as it was disclosed. Honestly I look at a lot of paid promotions like this one on youtube. I actually watched this entire video today because I have been interested in the FV line from dewalt, because I have a few other dewalt tools that have really stood the test of time.
What I don't agree with, is that they got a couple months of free promotion without disclosing it. Now had Cody said a month ago that he received some tools from Dewalt and would be doing a review in the future, my comment wouldn't exist. That is all I am saying, if you get free goods, tell me you got them for free when they start popping up in your videos rather than telling me 2 months down the line.
And honestly, you are right, its not that big of deal, but I thought it was worth making a comment about. Even if said comment gets downvoted to oblivion.
He clearly started this review in the old shop, but it's also very likely that he was waiting for everything to be signed and completed on his deal before he released it.
Cody doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would be caught with his tin pants down on a deal like that.
I've seen a few videos from other UA-camrs that also got a bunch of Dewalt tools, so as soon as I saw them in Cody's shop I knew he got the same deal and it was only a matter of time before he said something about that yellow and black Elephant.
Thank you for disclosing in the beginning. But I clicked off the video.. not a fan of paid sponsors. I'd like to see products integrated into your own videos.. not a special video
That's fair, I still think you would have liked the video Zack,
Well, there have been plenty of videos utilizing those tools on the channe latelyl. The fact that Cody clearly recorded it some time ago but posted only today, when the tools got their "baptism of fire", seems appropriate.
Wranglerstar update I did go back and watch the video. I just would love to see the products used as you are going and not do a paid video... but a man has to make a living and I can respect you for that.
Lol man, "thanks for disclosing but I'd rather you didn't, I'd prefer paid product placements then an out and out ad" I tell ya UA-cam commenters are weird.
I’m a Makita guy, but this set makes me want to go Dewalt in my next life
would love to see an update now that you have used them update the shop.
