Very helpful instruction for all those are new learner Tig welder. Thanks a lot.
Great info in the guidebook article. Thanks for the link sir. Weld done.
Thank you for watching! Let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you, I now know why it was starting hard.
From that article you cited, ceriated had the lowest Ev required for an arc start making it the easiest to start the arc at low amperages.
Great video, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I love your Miller auto darkening hood brother. That’s the same exact one I’ve been wanting to get for the past couple years. How do ya like that hood overall?
I leaned with RED tungsten and used it for 40 years ,steel ,SS , Aluminum
What tungsten do you recommend for platinum and rhodium?
I like the light blue, the lanthanum
Great video - wish you’d touched on tungsten diameter and filler rod diameter. I have bought all my stuff from you folks!
We will try to cover that in part 2 on filler metal! Thanks for watching and shopping with us!
I have also purchased a ton of stuff from them. Great info and great website.
Can you use any type of tungsten for most commonly used medal?
Where does Multi-Mix fit in here?
What size of tungsten works best for tig welding between 100 to 150 amps on aluminum and steel? Tyvm
1/8
Great video, just one question, is there just a good all round/all purpose tungsten for beginners to use for welding mild steel?
2% Ceriated is a good general one for mild steel. Also E3 is popular and very versatile.

@@BakersGas Thanks for the feedback!
I teach welding and 2% Lanthanated for everything. No issues.
Which tungsten avoids dipping into the metal the most? : D
Question- Just purchased an ESAB EMP 215ic from you guys (awesome customer service), what type of tungsten is included with that welder ?
That machine will come with a small sample pack of 2% ceriated.
@@BakersGas Ok, Thanks!
What colour tungsten use for aluminium tig welding
Green for aluminum.
Red for stainless steel.
Have a good day.
does quality tungsen make difference ? chinese made vs band name wolfram, plansee
Yes, brand name is better. Diamond Ground is US based and makes a really good product.
Red is HORRIBLE on AC in any amperage, if you aren't running stainless I'd recommend you leave it be, it seems to leave the weld puddle dirtier even on cleaned (brushed, acetone, and sweated) aluminum
What's the new purple ??
Rare earth it's non radioactive and it's what I'd recommend to everyone until you are skilled enough to find the short comings in a specific specific job. Which then if you are the guy who have that skill you aren't watching UA-cam videos. I'm trying to find a video recommending a electrode for Tig brazing cast iron.
2% Ceriated (Blue) works best for me on aluminum. No dirty look at start and pretty looking dime appearance. One big thing on any tungsten id dipping it. If it happens I cut of between 1/2" to 3/4" and re-sharpen. It makes a big difference if you want pretty welds.
Also blue makes a smooth arc with no popping noises.
Pretty sure blue is lanthanum not cerium...
@@jpmc271 Ceriated is Gray. I made a mistake 3 months ago. I no longer use BLUE.
So 10 minutes to tell us use the gray one it’s a good all-around one got it you should’ve just used colors not names.😂
Audio quality is quite bad. Can't make out some words at around 1 minute in. Something about inverter technology and old style something or other.
Nah man bad video.. If someone knew ALL the types of words your thrashing through, you don't mention colors, fiddling with sticks, then naming them with no reference to color... This video is one that i would rate "worst". :) re-do it, I would never put out a hack like this.
Ugh this company's logo reminds me of pre-ripped jeans.
