one of my rescue birds that was in similar, but worse conditions for a decade fits the exact description of "learned helplessness" I haven't seen this cocky in enough detail to know if it's the same, but at a glance that would be my guess as to why so calm. Learned helplessness was experimented on with dogs that were given electric shocks & unable to escape them. Eventually they stopped trying to escape & just submitted to the torture without resistance. My little one lets people do anything to her, then gets back into her cage & just rocks from the distress she's been feeling (well actually she doesn't do that much anymore, she feels safe with me, so she squarks at me & bites me if she doesn't like what I'm doing, which is GREAT! It means she's finally feeling safe enough to assert herself & make choices as to what she wants :)))
I have had three cockatoos for between 25 and 27 years. They were all rescues. They are wonderful birds and I adore them. I can’t imagine locking a cockatoo up for 30 years. This guy looks remarkable for being locked up for all that time. I’m surprised he hadn’t pulled all his feathers.
I rescued a moulaccan from a pet store. He also had been cage bound. We opened his door and after a few hours, we went to bed. (There was nothing he could get into). He had been on a diet of white bread and peanuts in the shell. Next morning I came down to check on how he’d managed during the night, only to find him sitting on the arm of a captain oak chair, eating breakfast with my 7 yr old! She’s quite the bird person from day one. All birds love her!……he was so happy to be out of his cage, we never shut his door again! I had a parrot book, so I called the author…he gave me a diet for him. Mostly beans….green beans, kidney beans etc, which after starving himself for 4 days, he finally decided it wasn’t that horrible. I froze food in ice cube tray. The bird Dr told me he would die on bread and peanuts. He urned out to be a beautiful bird. Very quiet and so gentle.
my rehab African Grey was my dad’s, I remember how ashamed I felt when I realized I grew up next to a neglected helpless being in an empty cage that is locked up by wire and rusty locks that I literally had to cut with a fishing hook cutter to take him to the doctor, I have my own trauma too and now I realize we had shared a bond because we both grew up in an unfortunate situation. it’s so heart breaking but hey let’s think about how much great things he gonna experience from now on, he’s gonna be the happiest gentleman. my heart is with him. sending love and healing energy to him! good boy.
another thing, there’s no shame in changing a neglected animal life, there’s a lot of shame in keeping them that way because that’s “their comfort zone” (as you should, because it’s horrible, but we all make mistakes...) because it isn’t. it’s just easier to not do this work, I know, but it is important.
Save a Parrot I am! I haven’t logged in ages to my FB page in ages but my Messenger is still active. my name is Guy Katz and I have 3 pictures of my grey in my bio, send me a message!
Once again you and Victoria have helped another of God's beautiful creatures. Watching Oscar climb on top of his prison for the first time in probably 30 years broke my heart and thrilled me. Having that freedom but those poor feet and legs. So thankful he's now starting a good life of loving care. Please keep us posted on Oscar's progress April.

I lived in Vietnam for a few months, and the owners of the house where I rented a room also had a Cockatoo. Her name was Rio and she was simply gorgeous, but they kept her in suuuch a small cage and they never played with her! She was always screaming and hitting the cage and she felt soo lonely :( my heart was breaking for her... I lived there for 3 months and I tried my best to put her out of the cage and play with her for a few hours every day. We would listen to music and she would come and kiss me and dance and bounce her head to the music :( I didn't know what to do to rescue or save her. She was an accessory for the owners there. They simply couldn't care less about her. I really wish I can go back there one day and if they still have her find a way to rescue her and rehome her with a loving family :(
Our 16yr old Barney has had 3 Top of the range cages & has not slept inside any of them once! He sleeps on his perch....he has his tree in our bedroom during the day. He roams through our Apartment & I stopped clipping his wings this year. He has Top Dollar Diet💕💕💕the best a bird can have. He gets 24/7 love and attention as we are both Retired. I can't imagine life without our Barney. ❤ Sunflower seeds can cause cholesterol.....got to limit it....
That poor bird, hearing the sound of other parrots for the first time in what must have felt like a lifetime to him 🥺 You could tell he was eager to meet them. So touching. Thank God he has been rescued and thank you to the amazing people that make this possible 🙏
Rico my goffin Cockatoo 29 years still together. I know the feelings & intelligence Parrots have & watching your video made me cry 30 years locked up😡😢 Thank You! & to everyone who saved Oscar please keep us updated on him ♥️
He is scared and anxious, new people ,new surroundings. Next a bird experienced person is a must.Seems to be likable bird probably would be a real sweet bird with some TLC.
Those masks would not have helped. We have so many wild cockatoos and other birds show up at our house every day in Australia, I cannot imagine how difficult was the life of this beautiful bird. They live in flocks (families) of a minimum of ten, although I have counted 80, so a solitary caged life must be torture.
My parrot us the centerpiece of my life. I cant imagine her being neglected like that. Im glad there are organizations that take in, care for and re-home these birds.
Yep....I've been bitten before by a "friendly" Moluccan. Bit right through my skin to the muscle. I hope he eventually comes around. It'll be interesting to see if he can be rehomed, or placed in permanent rescue. Good luck Oscar.
He looks so well even though being in a tiny cage for so many years, can't make it out as usually a parrot thats been abused pluck out all thier feathers, hopefully he has a happier life.
I once met someone who kept a cockatoo in a cage 24/7. Similar small cage, only fed sunflower seeds. It makes my heart ache to remember it and I always regret that I didn't report them or something, but I didn't know what to do at the time. Can only hope it gets a second chance one day like this sweet bird. Good work.
Thanks for saving him. I hope he will go to a special home where he will get all the love and attention he needs. Also a very big cage. With lots of toys and healthy foods. But make sure he gets what he likes too. Also make sure he gets a home that is safe and not subject to floods or wildfires . I think that he would enjoy having another bird friend that is friendly- maybe another Cockatoo. I he came from the wild he would appreciate another bird like himself. He could communicate with a bird that understands his language.
Good luck, Oscar. My heart breaks for these beautiful birds that suffer such extreme neglect. They deserve so much better, it’s just so sad and cruel to keep them locked up like that. Hopefully he’s found a better situation with new owners that will properly love him and care for him.
Love all animals, I worked with and for Blair county wildlife center. I would live to be able to take some birds in. So much beauty with them. I have a little girl gcc now. Thank you all for giving love. All life forms matter,ALL!!! BLESSED BE...
I hope that you gave this parrot what was the only bit of care he ever had before learning that he is very sick. I'm sure you did. Thank you very much for doing what you are doing. Parrots do not belong in cages. They are wild animals deprived of their needs in even the best situations of captivity. We need to shame and end breeders!!! And stores like PETCO. And, we need to change the laws and regulations so that it is specifically described what an owner must be equipped to care for adopted wild parrots.
poor baby, its easy to forget birds live a very long time, 30 years in a small cage i cant even imagine that...im glad he got rescued, and can live a much nicer life
Poor bird. I’m so glad you guys rescued him. Nice to see that he’s not all feather plucked on top of things. My African Grey’s cage is huge. In fact we call the room that he’s in “ The Parrot Room.” I hope Oscar has a long and happy life. Please the next time you have a situation like that, , never stick something in their cage ( I could see that you realized that). Birds are very territorial when it comes to their cage.Using the leather glove that covers your arm towards your elbow was actually your best option. Slowly and quietly hold your hand steady right at the door opening and let him come to you as you use words like “step up.” Continue until you have success. Best of luck to you all.
This is one of the best rescues from an owner who mistreated this bird with no attention and a cage too small for it. This poor bird deserved better than that bad owner who has no business to own it.
I know you're trying to make this really sad but he looks to be in great condition. Most of the rescue parrots I've seen don't have many feathers left and they look dreadful. And his cage looks really clean. I think his deceased owner did the best he/she could.
@@tarajh if the person died, maybe was too old. Poor person not being able to take care of their pet. You never know each person's life and why they couldn't give it to someone else. 30 years ago there wasn't that much information out there and older people don't use internet that much
I have to be some what agreeable with this. I have an Umbrella Cockatoo Bianca. I adopted him from my dad when he was 6 most old...I immediately fell for him! He has a good a varied diet 2 nice big cages..He moved in with my longterm boyfriend now husband in 2002 who also loves him!..but has been a feather picker not matter how hard I have tried to prevent that..He is 31 years old. Thinks he is a girl but he is a he..lol! * Right now I cant afford alot of toys & have had trouble keeping evetthing clean& spotless because I became very ill in 2019 & 2020 thru to now. He gets full check ups 2 x a year because of his picking & at one point high yeast issues..We have been putting apple cider vinegar in his water on & off for years to keep his system healthy and lowered his yeast issues. He has bitten us and sent me a few times to the ER. But that can be exppected with exotic creatures. I am just saying here..that considering Oscar looks well groomed, his weight looks good, his cage is clean...I am wondering who claimed he never got out of his cage?? Maybe I missed that conversation! It seems like the owner did do her best with what her circumstances..My Bianca would have plucked all his feathers & injured himself if he was stuck in his even for 2 full days & nights in his 6' × 30" x 3'1/2" cage.. And his night time cage is also large in my office/ his bedroom...
Thank you I, totally agree the diet was appropriate , he is not plucking he was not stressed put at all he loved his owners. Ty what really was sad is they left his only memories of his owner the toys. I hate judgemental rescuers who try to get others to hate on the previous owners. No judgemental just Rehab an rescue
Who knows how long he was in there AFTER THE DEATH THE FUNERAL . it's not easy to come in and care for a big bird. That owners let the parrot out you can tell. Stop listening to people who got you to believe the worst so you would feel bad an talk badly an rescue. God Bless.
April, I just saw this. I’ve said this before but you are a TRUE AVIAN WARRIOR. It truly is about rescuing and ensuing better lives for birds. I just cannot even express how much respect I have for you. My own bird’s life has been so enriched because of everything I have learned from you. God bless you and your mission!! SAVING PARROTS!!! 💚🤍💙🧡💛
It should be illegal to have parrots because this happens a lot, probably millions of birds are mistreated. They should be put in the wild flying around
Sadly alot of people do not take into account the lifespan of parrots that how long they live. When I was 8 years old my mom wanted a parrot. Went to the pet store and became a father. I am 50 and my child/love of my life is a 39 year old Hyacinth macaw.
Unfortunately, most would N0T survive! M0ST DIE, when let loose &/or they accidentally get out. They do not have skills to survive on their own, after being hatched, hand raised/fed, etc. They may live for a few days/weeks, but eventually become predator's prey, because they do not know how to defend, &/or how to get away.
Disagree. My chicken runs my house and has free reign over me. I know for a fact that if I put him outside he would cry and scream until I came to get him.
These birds cannot survive without the care for a human. They've been bred in captivity and alot of natural enemies around here. They basically have no ability to find food in these unknown habitats. If they're taught to stay with you on the outside then it'd be okay to let them go around nearby. My parakeets are free to go around in my house, except for Kitchen and bathroom. They have their cage and learned to open and close the cage door on their own. Also they give a poop about me putting a blanket ober them for sleep time, they rather not have it and just sleep on their own. They are actually pretty adapt to go in the cage around 10pm on their own.
I have an Amazon , 2 conures , 2 cockatiels, 3 parakeets . All rescues. You need alot of dedication , time , hard work and yes, they will bite . They all get free flight day (not all together) . It took a year to get one on my shoulder , now I wake up to him climbing up my bed in the mornings . BIRDS ARE VERY SMART and become very attached to their human .
Considering he’s been in that cage for so long he looks great physically normally parrots pluck their own feathers out if under any stress, mentally he will need a lot of reassurance I really hope they find a wonderful new home with a loving human...
Hi is liberated now from his jail life, not attention at all, surely rarely contact with people, not love and cares... A new life started for you, sweetheart 😍❤
So sad, these birds live a long time and can even out live a human so to see him rescued after 30 years is awesome to watch.I hope he gets back the years he's lost.❤
Thank you for loving these beautiful angles. For first time owners please DON'T shop at petstores please adopt there are many places. They aren't toys, they will be family, treat them as such and just a side note if your home is one of chaos and fighting and family members don't get along a lot of loud shouting and noises probably getting a bird of any type is not helping them I say that not to hurt anybody's feelings but it is true if you feel trapped and abused in your own household because of your family please don't get a bird they have real feelings they're super smart and when they get depressed it certainly increases their chance of death and self-destruction on another note if you do have a stable home where there is lots of love and your heart is to have a bird please rescue please do research go online there are many training shows in particularly one I love it's called bird tricks they show you how to train your bird and many more. I'm sending my love to everybody who has a heart for these animals and a special shout out to The rescuers of Oscar
Sweet baby!! I have a Cockatoo who last year had no feathers. The previous owners fed him Doritos because they said "he liked them"🤦♀️. My friend paid $100 to get him, showed him what love is and put him on a proper diet. He spends time with me as well. He will be here full time starting Sunday.
This is exactly the same set up that happened to my rescue “Mad Max” I’ve had him for a year now , he was in a very small cage, some guy that owned him said he was to load and squawking all the time , the guy put max outside and when he would get vocal the guy would hose him with a garden hose, ( ya I’m still looking for this idiot!) I couldn’t get my hand in the cage to feed and clean , I got a rally large cage cage for him , we have made so much progress, , but he still likes being inside, instead of out I have a feeling he feels more secure, this week we learned how to play peek a boo from him playing inside a cardboard box , we have just started our life long journey!
Oh my goodness that poor bird! This reminds me so much of my U2 when I got him; tiny cage, one perch, crappy diet, no toys, he lived with 2 heavy chain smokers, his cage was infested with maggots. It took about a year of work to get him to the point where he was comfortable with me, being handled and playing with toys. He had been hand fed so it was a case of him remembering what people are about ❤️ he lived with me for only 5 years before passing away of lung cancer
@@SaveaParrot it was hard, he had lived with his first home for 6 years, I don't know much about his life then except that he lived in a tiny round cage, his second home "upgraded" him to a slightly larger square cage similar to this one. His cage was tucked behind two couches in the corner of the living room, beside the woman of the house who sat directly next to him and smoked, she spent 99% of her day and night there next to him, tv always on. I truly believe the only thing that kept him part way sane was the tv, he had no toys to play with. He had no balance, no sense of self, had no idea how to play, it was heart breaking. I had him for the least amount of time, but I know he had the best 5 years of his life. He came to college with me, I brought him to my vet tech classes to teach other students about proper parrot care, he got fresh food every day, as many toys as he could ever want. It was a long, hard road to recovery, but im sure just like Goonie, Liberty will get there in time. He doesn't know it yet, but his life is only going to get better from now on
I am so emotional right now seeing this and so happy I found and saw this video. *More than that I am so happy and so proud of you, April and Victoria for this heroic rescue.* Just looking at him getting free for the first time took my heart away. OMG! Knowing freedom for the first time! I cannot imagine what that life of imprisonment was like for him all those years. I'm shocked he looks that good and hope his health is good after such a poor diet and all unhealthy and abusive treatment he endured. Please? Is there a follow up...update on Oscar? TYSM.
I feel absolutely guilty when i didnt have my cockatiels out ALL DAY and only for a couple hours! They LIVE WITH US as PART OF OUR FAMILY. Cages are BEDROOMS, *NOT HOUSES OR HOMES* ... Thats just my opinion ❤ glad the lil guy has some people to show him love and earn his trust. I recently made a huge breakthrough with one of my cockatiels who was traumatized due to a rehoming situation and lost all trust in humans.. As of recent, she has started allowing us to give her scratches and steps up ❤ it took almost exactly 1 year & ITS SO *WORTH IT* !!!
I’m so excited to have found this channel. It just popped up and so I subscribed. I’m 54 and I’ve had Parrots since I was 13. I have just 1 bird. A Yellow Naped Amazon. She’s an excellent talker and never yells, however she does sing show tunes and other songs. I would love to get another bird. I think it would be fun and I would love to possibly adopt another bird.
I rescued a Timneh a couple of years ago when his owner could no longer look after him. He too had been confined for 30 years in a cage with just one toy and fed almost exclusively sunflower seeds. He'd never been touched or handled. He was terrified when I caught him to take him home. I put him on the top of his cage with perches, toys, some decent food and water, but left the door of the cage open so he could go in, but he didn't. Now he goes in and out of his cage as he wishes. He has the run of the house, but seems to prefer chilling on the top of his cage or chewing the cardboard I put around the bottom of his cage to catch the poop. He now comes over for a head scratch, takes treats nicely from my fingers without biting and talks, dances and whistles all the time. His new life has finally begun. Murderers don't get 30 years in solitary confinement, so why should a bird?
I have a cockatoo that my neighbor badly abused. First she said he was 17 and then said he was 30. He bit me for 5 months before realizing I would not hurt him. We have been dancing, playing games and snuggling for two month. But this morning I wore the wrong article of clothing. I cannot wear my p.j.s, crocks, bandana on my hair or very thin clothing. This morning was cold and I left my cape on. It set him off and he bit my hand deep. His hatred of his former owner run deep. 3 hrs later I came back and he wants me to pick him up. I am trying my best not to be afraid to handle him. I love him dearly.
A local veterinarian has a large parrot that has never been out of his cage. The practice is well over 30 years old. I was very surprised. I had been contracted to photograph their practice. When we got to the bird, I was only allowed to photograph him through the bars because they said no one had ever taken him out of the cage and they didn’t know how he would react. Made me wonder how they provided medical care for him. The cage was a much tighter fit for that bird than the one in this video. The bird is probably still there.
I would love to rescue him. Has he been rescued? I just rescued a 20 year old CAG and he is the sweetest bird I’ve ever had. Usually CAGs are only bonded to one person but he will let anyone hold him. His previous owner had him since he was an egg and she was afraid of him so they were never able to bond. Believe me, these creatures need affection and love. Instantly he was drawn to me bc I wasn’t afraid of his beak. You have to not be afraid of them to bond with them. Now he’s my companion for life he comes to work with me every day. My heart breaks for this sweet creature. He will also live another 30 years if he lives out his whole lifespan. They are lifelong companions.
At our Rescue and Sanctuary in South Africa we have several that has come from the same sad story and one even tied up in a cage with nylon rope so she could not escape. saddest of cases and so unnecessary. Humans is just so hideous.
His voice is hoarse sounding from crying probably, imagine- no toys no bird friends or fruit no perches no room to fly just tiny cage. Alone. Poor little guy.
Hi Pebble don't worry Nature is looking after you, just picked this ul and had same thing with my African Grey . What a World weive in. I hate humans that could do tbis. Thank you lady, breaks my heart😭.
April, I didn't realize you had this separate channel until now. Subscribed, of course. Oscar looks surprisingly good considering what he's been through, but it won't surprise me if he has medical problems, especially considering his terrible diet. It's late now, but I will check in tomorrow and donate towards his vet bill. I think he'll be a fighter like Miss VC.
Hello! Yes! I have a new channel along with Parrot Playhouse. I kept getting penalized for uploading parrot rescue videos on Parrot Playhouse so I had to separate it all. I'm not happy about it but was left with no choice. Sadly the bloodwork doesn't look good for Oscar who is now called Liberty. We are still waiting for the PDD labs. He's a very sick kid. I just hope he can enjoy at least a few years of peace and happiness.
Victoria seemed reluctant to take Oscar and was talked into it. Reluctantance can be a recipe for disaster. I hope Oscar's recovery goes well, he deserves a loving home.
She already had a houseful of birds - about a dozen, I think. It's an incredible commitment to make, to take care of even one damaged bird for the rest of its potentially long life. It's expensive, noisy, exhausting, and takes an honorable, responsible person to make such a commitment. I, too, hope Oscar will have a loving home and time to enjoy it.

The bird Dr told me he would die on bread and peanuts. He urned out to be a beautiful bird. Very quiet and so gentle.
He looks remarkably well. It’s a wonder he didn’t pluck his feathers out. Beautiful bird. Wishing him a much happier and healthier life!
Poor baby! I am so glad you all are helping him!

@@donnapatacchiola6713 Because it is a carrier cage to transport him in. They say it in the video.
You guys are angels ! Thank you for doing what you do! It gives animal lovers hope
my rehab African Grey was my dad’s, I remember how ashamed I felt when I realized I grew up next to a neglected helpless being in an empty cage that is locked up by wire and rusty locks that I literally had to cut with a fishing hook cutter to take him to the doctor, I have my own trauma too and now I realize we had shared a bond because we both grew up in an unfortunate situation. it’s so heart breaking but hey let’s think about how much great things he gonna experience from now on, he’s gonna be the happiest gentleman. my heart is with him. sending love and healing energy to him! good boy.
another thing, there’s no shame in changing a neglected animal life, there’s a lot of shame in keeping them that way because that’s “their comfort zone” (as you should, because it’s horrible, but we all make mistakes...) because it isn’t. it’s just easier to not do this work, I know, but it is important.
Are you on FB? I would love to talk to you on Messanger about your grey.

He a very sick boy. We will have an update video ince we get all his labs in.
He looks in really good shape considering. The masks must be scary for birds now.
Sadly the bloodwork results look like he's a very sick bird.
@@SaveaParrot oh no :(
Yes, you've could handle him for 20 min without masks not to traumatize him further.
@@Ab-abovetheFirmament ............... you don’t know.
yea my bird doesn't like masks but he can get accustomed and tolerate it once he knows its me behind it.
Poor baby. Why do people have parrots when they cannot commit to love them.
I think many have no clue what a parrot needs.
@@SaveaParrot yes you're right, i feel bad for them. If psbl i would definitely adopt an abusive bird like Oscar, unfortunately i live in opposite side of the world

@@OscarChicken There's no doubt abused parrots where you live too
I lived in Vietnam for a few months, and the owners of the house where I rented a room also had a Cockatoo. I really wish I can go back there one day and if they still have her find a way to rescue her and rehome her with a loving family :(
He probably missed you when you left.
Just take it with you please 🙏
Please find a way to rescue Rio
Our 16yr old Barney has had 3 Top of the range cages & has not slept inside any of them once!
He sleeps on his perch....he has his tree in our bedroom during the day.
He roams through our Apartment & I stopped clipping his wings this year.
He has Top Dollar Diet💕💕💕the best a bird can have. He gets 24/7 love and attention as we are both Retired. I can't imagine life without our Barney. ❤
Sunflower seeds can cause cholesterol.....got to limit it....
That poor bird, hearing the sound of other parrots for the first time in what must have felt like a lifetime to him 🥺 You could tell he was eager to meet them. So touching.
Thank God he has been rescued and thank you to the amazing people that make this possible 🙏
No excuses! Lost for words please make up the love that Peanut 🥜 has missed! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗
Rico my goffin Cockatoo 29 years still together. I know the feelings & intelligence Parrots have & watching your video made me cry 30 years locked up😡😢 Thank You! & to everyone who saved Oscar please keep us updated on him ♥️
I am glad Rico has you❤
Save a Parrot Thank You!
Looks like a Major Mitchell cockatoo. What ever he is love what everyone has done to help him.♥️
He is scared and anxious, new people ,new surroundings. Next a bird experienced person is a must.Seems to be likable bird probably would be a real sweet bird with some TLC.
Yes! He just needs to feel safe and trust!
Ouch!! I will see him tomorrow. I am looking forward to following his journey.
He looks so well even though being in a tiny cage for so many years, can't make it out as usually a parrot thats been abused pluck out all thier
feathers, hopefully he has a happier life.
I'm shocked he's not plucked bald!
Wish I had room to take on another
U2, he'd be a welcome change! 💚
P.S. Your attire was so cute, April!
I know! His feathers look ok. It's weird how some birds mutilate and others nothing! I didn't know this was going down when it did. Thank you:)
He's super docile too taking
everything into consideration,
I hope his vet check comes
back in his favour! 🙏💚🙏

Victoria had 2 cockatoos, 2 amazons, 8 lovebirds and a tiel now. He's going to have plenty of friends.💚💚
Good luck, Oscar. My heart breaks for these beautiful birds that suffer such extreme neglect. They deserve so much better, it’s just so sad and cruel to keep them locked up like that. Hopefully he’s found a better situation with new owners that will properly love him and care for him.
THANK YOU for rescuing this poor soul. Was he really not ever taken out? was the owner progressively ill and incapable, and /or drowning by hoarding?
April, you are a wonderful person. Than you for all the hard work you put in.
I am so thankful for Victoria. She has a very important job ahead of her. ❤
Lovely ladies thank you for caring
I know you're trying to make this really sad but he looks to be in great condition. Most of the rescue parrots I've seen don't have many feathers left and they look dreadful. And his cage looks really clean. I think his deceased owner did the best he/she could.
The vet said it's cage & food dishes were disgusting. They were cleaned after the rescue :(
@@tarajh if the person died, maybe was too old.
A naked woman tries to steal a bird from the owner?
Thanks for loving the birds
Poor little oscar thanku for taking care of I'm xx
Such cruelty to animals is so very sad. Thank you for rescuing this precious creature.

God has blessed this little bird ~ he's now cared for and free with love.
So heartbreaking 😢 How can people do that. This makes me really sad. Thank you for rescuing him!❤️❤️❤️
Hi April....so glad you are there for Oscar....such a beautiful bird....GOD bless you and all the work you do for these beautiful creatures❤💐❤
These poor birds need all the help we can give them💚💚
Considering he’s been in that cage for so long he looks great physically normally parrots pluck their own feathers out if under any stress, mentally he will need a lot of reassurance I really hope they find a wonderful new home with a loving human...

Thank God for people like You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My heart breaks for the birds and animals. How sad. ❤️🔷❤️
You and Emily are such awesome ladies and you bothndo a very good job
No!😭 I am so sorry! So many stories like yours, Oscare now named Liberty and Victoria Cockatoo. Heartbreaking!
He doesn't know it yet, but his life is only going to get better from now on
Don,t smoke around animal,s low life bloody acum

I am so emotional right now seeing this and so happy I found and saw this video. *More than that I am so happy and so proud of you, April and Victoria for this heroic rescue.* Just looking at him getting free for the first time took my heart away. OMG! Knowing freedom for the first time! I cannot imagine what that life of imprisonment was like for him all those years. I'm shocked he looks that good and hope his health is good after such a poor diet and all unhealthy and abusive treatment he endured. Please? Is there a follow up...update on Oscar? TYSM.
Thank you so much for helping him ❤❤
I feel absolutely guilty when i didnt have my cockatiels out ALL DAY and only for a couple hours!
The cage being the bedroom is a great way to look at it!
Great job rescuing this guy. 💕💎

So sad poor baby 🥺 now he will get to live the life he deserves 🥰thank you for helping him ❤️
Thank you very much. You guys are an angel.
This is sooooo sad 😞 praying he gets better and gets a beautiful home with a loving family
I read in an older comment that the blood work came back pretty bad. “He’s a very sick bird.”
Poor little guy 😞
Thank goodness you were able to get him and give him a better life. Hope he is healthy considering he was caged and locked all those years!@
THANK YOU
At our Rescue and Sanctuary in South Africa we have several that has come from the same sad story and one even tied up in a cage with nylon rope so she could not escape. saddest of cases and so unnecessary. Humans is just so hideous.
How can the bird escape if stuck in a cage pisse,s me right of
His voice is hoarse sounding from crying probably, imagine- no toys no bird friends or fruit no perches no room to fly just tiny cage. Alone. Poor little guy.

This is so heartbreaking. Imagine being in a tiny box for 30 freaking years just wanting to get out but that's all your life is just that little box :,(
birds are very beautiful♥️♥️
Thankyou God for giving us beautiful parrots 🦜. I wish I was young so I could rescue birds🥺I’m too old now for having parrots and no one in my family would want to bother caring for one.
Omg!! My parrot would die locked up with no human contact. I was in the hospital for kidney removal from cancer . 2 months and she pulled out her feathers. It took me a long time to get her back the way she was. Poor baby. Thanks for helping her
Bless you all.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Poor baby! At least he’ll live a way better life for the last years of his life 🥺
THE SWEET FLOOF CHICKEN
😭
You people are angels period
when i got Poppy. i bought a new (much bigger) cage for him. what i did was assemble it in front of him so he knew it wouldn't be a threat. as soon as it was assembled & his toys were in it, he jumped right on it.
Said so we’ll!
Humans don’t deserve the animal world
Maybe the masks that everyone’s wearing is kinda scaring him. But he will get used to them.
Thank God for you all and everything you do. It’s horrible that people get these Angels and do not take proper care of them. Poor baby has been through so much neglect. I think he knows he is in good hands now tho.
Birds are more into eye movement then the mouth.
Awesome guys ! ❤️
