As someone who is just learning technology and what everything does and how to use it: This was the BEST video i found that showed me step by step what to do, what the program would do and why... THANK YOU.
Woo hoo, thanks to you I finally have Linux apps on my chromebook. Never got past that terminal screen til now. Using Thunderbird to read and write email because Evolution crashed every time I tried to start it. Liked and subscribed. Thanks again.
Thanks for your video man. However when I openned "Software" for the first time I found empty home screen, "no applications founded". I had to run the updates, rewrite "Sudo apt upgrade " and reboot a couple of times and then it finally showed the Gnome main menu... Now it works!!
However libreoffice and other text editors do not work right in my Acer chromebook. All the icons at the toolbars are in black. Also the images of the file that I open are in black too... I tried 3 other text editors and the same...
great tutorial, super easy to follow along too :) but how do i get the software center? i typed it into the same settings bar you did but nothing for an app like what you were showing on your screen came up.
The easiest way would be to install something like Kdenlive via the terminal. Pull up the Linux terminal and type sudo apt-get install kdenlive -y You can also install Shotcut live which is another video editing software. You can take a look at this site for a more in-depth explanation. www.xda-developers.com/best-video-editors-chromebook/
is theres another way to have or install android apps in chromebook?? my chromebook can't install apps. no google play and even linux in setting please help"-"
Try the steps on this link to see if they can help, www.xda-developers.com/android-apps-chrome-os/. If these don't help you can try to sideload apps, but that requires enabling developer mode which wipes your Chromebook and resets it in developer mode. It gives you more freedom to do things, but honestly, I wouldn't do it if you're not comfortable doing so. I'm just giving you a couple options.
