Do you think it will be technically possible to easily install the Ubuntu GUI on ChromeOS and have it run in a virtual desktop? I've seen some blogs that talk about replacing Debian with Ubuntu as the default linux distribution on ChromeOS but it's complicated, and I'm still not sure it will do what I want. Thanks :-)
Christopher Heeney If you want to do that level of stuff you’d be better off installing Crouton and running Linux from that container.
I have a tutorial video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/QB9puwi2qTo/v-deo.html
@@Eevnos Thank you. I had done that with my HP x360 14...But then it just died after a few months: Cntl+L just beeps now. That was back in March 2019 so maybe the install is now more stable. Now that we have audio, GPU acceleration, virtual desks in '77, things will have improved considerably. I think I will wait a few more releases before I give it another shot. Thanks for your response 👍😁
That’s amazing!
massive help. thank you now i can teach myself to edit videos
theres an animation software called "pencil2d" and it says it supports linux but i just wanna see how it run
When I type: "sudo apt-get update" it says "Type 'dep' is not known on line 4 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list" and then it says "The list of sources could not be read."
What am I doing wrong? I have Linux successfully installed, I enable the GPU, and I restarted my device when it asked me to do so.

The pinned comment on his video "Install Steam on Chromebook - Updated Method" helps. Also, the same commenter gave another method (4 steps) if his first comment didn't work. I did the 4 steps and it worked for me :)
