Abbie had to leave her friends at Camp I Am Special and head home. She wasn't exactly excited to see mom and dad. She would rather stay at camp I think. It's one of her favorite places for sure.

I wish I could volunteer at a camp like that, working with kids like Abigail. I was a special education major in college before I got too sick to continue. I miss it.

Abbie's' precious sad face got me tearing up. Her buddy Erin is such a sweet girl...that's the type of person that truly loves her job and will excel in the field of special needs care. She was getting emotional as Abbie was leaving...just goes to show how truly cared for Abbie was while she was at camp ❤️
Jocelyn went to her Nana's for a few days this week, she was the same way when she had to come home, I felt like she hated us. It's awesome that Abbie loves camp so much, and Erin is so sweet, crying again at the vlog watching them say goodbye, Lol.

Megan Wayman ... the puzzle piece is a controversial logo for autism speaks (charity with questionable motives). The rainbow infinty symbol represents the diversity of the autism spectrum and celebrates neurodiversity.
This brought tears to my eyes. I am so thankful that you guys are so wonderful to her and you guys deserve to break and she got to have an amazing independent experience. You all are really magical people.

I work at a camp for kids with special needs and it's so nice to see the parents perspective when picking up and dropping off and picking up their kids. The saddest thing is when your favorite camper goes home and all the campers leave. I'm unsure where you live but camp summitt in paradise Texas is a great camp for people with special needs of all ages.

I work with a boy with downs syndrome on a friday... he is also non verbal and he has had a massive impact on me as he has taught me how he communicates and also to have a bright outlook on life and to smile more.

I hated coming home from Falls Creek (it’s a camp in Davis Ok, Christian Camp) we always called going back to reality.
I go to MDA camp because I have mitochondria dieses and I love summer camp my consular that I have had for 2 years I love her and I can't wait to go back next year

I am going back and binge watching the older vlogs and one of my questions that I've had (I think you answered) was how Abbie dealt with losing her baby teeth. I know she has a high pain tolerance and I just wondered was it hard on you guys.
Hey sometimes we gotta bribe our kids to be happy to see us that's just how it works but gosh I cant help but cry everytime Abbie cries.

She seems so sad. I was the exact same way when I came home from my grandmas with my mom this past Wednesday. When my mom and I left my grandmas after lunch on Wednesday, I cried bitterly part of the way home, was fine for a while, and then, just as we were getting near Brantford, our hometown, I started to feel emotional, and when we pulled into the lot I quick undid my seatbelt, got out, close the door, grabbed my bags, and then I raced into the house, took my shoes off and drag my bags upstairs and raised in my bedroom where I threw myself on the bed and I sobbed hysterically and barely for a while. I was that upset about leaving my grandmas. And I am 26 with a visual disability.

i am so glad abby had such good time. I started watching alot of you video other day. Learning know your family....have APD audtory procceing disorder. I actauly due to to much stimulation. I did pretty good at camp but their were few people that made camp little bit not best but magority of them were great meet... I went to a JRA camp.... But my parents came pick me up i asked can we leave i dont want stay for dinner... I started crying breaking down. As stimulation just had started shuting down more and more i had hard time not calling them haveing them pick me up even. Because i just got verry overwelmed, ( We didnt know at time i had APD i end up droping out because my pysical and edecational needs were not even being met because even homebound teacher had not been showing up like should of.... Finaly my parents asked for help we found out i have APD... But i show sensory issues also. My previous councler ( She left due medical issues ) she wonder if have sensory issues also but we dont know of. But i show more then just apd... Like alot clothing causes me pysical pain when i am uder more dealing with more i have trouble with touch even causeing pysical pain. I have turn my socks inside out if they have fussy because i cant cope with it. Lot shirt that have like designs like your shirts have i cant tolrate either. So i show more then just audtory procceing disorder. ( I struggled alot school kept putting off doing testing. I had IEP magority of the staff didnt care to fallow it or do what was spouse to. They the dr said while in school insurance wont pay for testing. ( Due magor health reason i had drop out we done homebounding but was even to much do homebound plus he wasnt showing up half time i could be on porch me mom waiting he would say we didnt awnser door but we found out he was claming he still was so he got money off me for not showing up because they get paid extra do stuff like that ... So after when my health got worse we found out after i had droped out insurance would paid for testing found out i had Audtory procceing after extensive test. ( But was told prior they wouldnt. So we found out if your in school they expect school do testing
You know people don't realize that everybody has feelings no matter who you are. And Abbie has a lot feelings and love.

I only went to week long camp once and I was teenage counselor yeah maybe not smartest decision for 15-17 year olds to be counselors after like I think 3 weeks of being day camp counselor this doesn't include the 5 days training. Obviously no day camp on weekends but trip was a week I was glad to be home after the week long camp we teenagers where exhausted.
She really didn't want to go home.

My 6 year old son is autistic and non verbal. Sc you think he will be fine at camp? I am so nervous to send him because he cannot communicate his needs. What if they ignore him or treat him bad?

I'm not sure I'll get to that point with Jazzy. It all scares me a little too much. She has some pretty intense feeding issues too, and that's what scares me the most. Who knows. Maybe someday. I know it would be good for her. She's only 5 right now. Things to look forward to, I guess. 😬
+Emerald Cara I don't want to speak out of turn but I'm pretty sure some of the campers at Abbie's camp have to be fed, use feeding tubes, etc. The range of disabilities is pretty vast.
