The actress is incredible , one of the best performances I have ever seen. It is a very poignant , sensitive series. I give it an A plus. In the end it is a great Love story.

As always, TTE you have given an excellent analysis of this series. I watched it a while back before you did your Navillera reviews, but your analysis made me recall most of the series. Initially I thought that it was kinda weird because I never knew such a condition existed. But as I continued to watch, I began to feel for Kumi. She was clearly miserable because of her plight and it seemed she could not talk about it with a medical professional, her family, or even her husband. Her lack of communication did bother me at first, but then I tried to understand why she reacted the way she did. I guess that was just me putting myself in her shoes instead of trying to understand the character's actions and motivations more. When I discovered that this series was based on a true story and adapted from a book, I really had more sympathy for Kumi and Ken. They (also the author and her husband) had to deal with this major issue in their marriage while navigating through career struggles, demanding parents, and societal pressures of what most people think a marriage should be. Although they both made choices I probably wouldn't have, I think they both desperately wanted to try to find a resolution to their problem. In the end, I was very impressed that they just accepted the matter and decided that not being able to engage in the physical act of intercourse wasn't a reason to dissolve their marriage. They both came to the realization that even with everything considered, they loved each other and really that is the most important component in a marriage as far as I'm concerned. I get how most people put a lot of emphasis on sex, and I am not totally dismissing it. I do think a really good marriage is more than just the physical aspect though. Thanks TTE for your in-depth analysis of this series. I enjoyed the series as it is subject matter that isn't usually covered, so it was something new and thought provoking. Take care and I will be watching for your next series review.

I remember seeing it back when I just started getting obsessed with jdramas because of their unique way of story telling and stories itself. Not gonna lie that the show got a bit too metaphorical for me to continue cause we as a society can't really deal when there are to many questions and not enough answers but I did finish it. As usual only your review can make me look back and appreciate something more though. I also think the show gave out the idea of extreme dirtbag mentality of men (rape scene, the free prostitute remark etc) yet ironically Kenichi's character was one of the exceptions (just my own little observation because I really liked his character)
Also I would love you to watch and review Kenja no ai aka Sage's love, another one of my favorite jdramas after love and fortune.
    P. s- When is my wish getting fulfilled 😭 #secretloveaffair review 😓
