Thank you... thank you... thank you!! I have been searching for an alternative to getting lights installed in my pool for a long time... and then found this tutorial. I can't tell you how happy I am with the amount of light that gets put out. I did however go with 12 lights. This was totally genius! My backyard has taken on a whole new life now at night!
I've had a pool for 20 years and always thought is was just concrete under the vinyl. Just tested with a magnet and it is indeed metal. You are a genius and I am doing this tomorrow (or whenever amazon gets here).
Thank you for the magnet idea, I was planning on doing this since my light has gone bad, but was not sure about the industrial valcro, just double checked with a magnet and works like a charm, I will order these and enjoy my pool during the night!!! Thank you!!!
Still work good for you? The reviews on the pucks are pretty poor on amazon, so I wanted to check in. How long are the pucks lasting before you have to replace the batteries?
Well to be honest, I took them out of the pool and forgot about them. Been out all year on the ground, so they were destroyed. My own fault. If I put them away, they would have been fine. Some manufacturers have copied my idea and now have magnets built in because of this video. Plus some are rechargeable, which I find interesting. 100% sealed, these would work better than the tripple A type. Just food for thought. I will always be honest with my viewers nothing gained by lying and misleading you! Thanks for the comment!
My pool has no steel for magnets. Best suggestions on glue for led strips? I know you use hot glue on previous video, I was thinking silicone? My siding is concrete and has a little over hang in which I'll be placing the strips under the over hang. By the way, it does look way more elegant, sophisticated and lovely! Can clearly see the deep end now! Thanks for your help and response! 🙌🏻
Quick question, how can I test out if have a medal plate along my pool? I know the obvious answer would be with a magnet, but I tried one off of my refrigerator and there was no attraction.
I have a built-in gunite pool without a light... I really want to do something like this. Do you think I could hot-glue or silicone in some magnets to serve as "docking stations" for the lights? (magnet sticks to magnet?)
aylaofduni you'll need to lower the water level, and make sure it's dry for that to work. If it does work, make sure to put the magnets on the correct way so they do not repel. Use silicone that may work better in this situation. It's definitely worth a shot.
Hi Joe, do you leave the lights underwater all summer, or do you remove them each night after use ?? I've heard a caution about leaving them underwater for more than 10 hours, and another success story that they've left them in the pool all summer.
Great question. I have left them underwater. I did have a two of them fail and fill up with water due to my error. I did not tighten them well enough. Whoops. But they are submersible so one would hope they would be for long periods of time. They have been in the pool since the video, and they are still great. It is important to get Nickle plated magnets, so they do not rust. Thanks for the question. - Joe
nodd85 well, they are only 3 AAA batteries. depends how long per night. 3 hours per night, probably 2 to 3 weeks maybe.. I like to use rechargables. 1000Ma each
Good Job Joe ! I will be doing mine this summer ... Over the top I am doing 16 my kids will absolutely love it I did my research and came to the same conclusion ! I have in my Loftek Kart ! Yes I subscribed hope you will subscribe to my channel when I get it up adn running :) Take care be safe brother great job ! Great Observation !

This deserves to be pinned! Well done Travis!

Tolga Ciftci yeah, looks real nice and elegant. Children will enjoy it the most by the way..
Tracked this video down. Redoing our pool lights and remembered you.
Howdy neighbor! I have these led lights in the waterfall that leads to our pond. Great product, great price and great review!
Nick Chechakos hello Nick! Glad you like them and thank you for the kind words about the product
This is the easiest install and virtually zero maintenance. Just change the batteries when they go dead.

are you able to use one remote for all the lights as they only come 4 in a pack? im looking to get 10 or more and have them all on one remote?
You are correct. You have MANY spares! lol

SynSyn Volen hmm... can you take a picture of it and send it to me? I want to find out how we can get this to work.

You have a liner or gunite? Would not be on the top edge. 3 feet down from top edge. Gunite does not have it.
your pool frame may be metal and not magnetic. Many frames are aluminum or i believe stainless.
Stainless is still magnetic
How are you liking them, it’s been 3 years. Just wondering if they were any good still. Thinking about getting some.
Working fine..
@@Joeteck Thanks Joe, great to hear
I like this idea a lot. Thank you Joe. Very cool.
Vinny Santo you're welcome
How did you find any metal to attach the magnets to? I have an inground vinyl liner.... I am using suction cups, they are not working
Permabond 200 to the aluminum
Pool with liners have metal to prevent roots penetrate the liner. Goes around the entire parameter of the pool. The first 3 feet.
@@Joeteck Ok.. thank you.... I thought some of the walls were hard plastic..

Why did you stop using the led strips? I think it was because they burned and it’s more expensive to replace, is it true?
No, did not burn. They never stayed on for long. Kids were young and they continued to rip them off
@@Joeteck wow, but for those who want to spend less do you recommend the led strip or the lamps you use now?
@@aldairxavier3130 lamps are the way to go if you have a liner. However, I like the LED strips better.
@@Joeteck Thank you

I'm thinking about doing this. I'm sorry but where are the links on where to buy these items?
Vinny Santo in the description. if you're on your mobile. click the down arrow, you'll see the links
Hello, great video, is there a way to set them on a timer? so it will go on automaticly at night?
dion defm no, they need the remote control to turn on.
We just had our liner pool completed a few days ago. Looks like an awesome idea! Are these lights still working for you?
Yes. They work great. Just replace the batteries when they die
any idea how long the batteries last with typical use?
About 2 weeks.. Depends on how long you night swimming is. My kids love it. Not scared of a shark coming to attack them.. lol
What are the name of the lights please?
Friends en donde venden esa luces ya llego a sudmerica por favor mandane la diteccion
Nice install, how long would you guess the batteries will last?

nodd85 glad you liked it. it looks so awesome.. my kids can now do night swimming without the fear of the "boogy man". lol
great video - how did you stick these to the side of the pool? Thanks.
Carlos Herpin I guess you didn't watch the video.. spoiler alert; magnets
Joeteck ah! OK - my pool is cement I don't have anything metal for it to stick to - thank you very good review
Carlos Herpin you mean Gunite, mine is a liner so I have steel around the perimeter. You are welcome. Thanks for the comment.
@@Joeteck Any ideas to stick these on for concrete pool? Thanks!
@@hansonphan99 sorry, I do not..
Will the magnets not eventually leave rust stains?
Attraction Faction GREAT QUESTION! not at all, which is why I chose nickel plated magnets!
Thanks!
Attraction Faction no problem! just remember to get nickel plated magnets and you'll never have a problem. Again, awesome question!
New updated version of these lights are on Amazon. They now include magnets and suction cups already built in.
Yes, they stole my design
How do you know if there's steel or not
Tyler Playz290 if you have a liner? Gunite pools do not. The steel prevents roots from penetrating the liner.
Joeteck would suction cups work
Tyler Playz290 no, I've tried. They don't work underwater. Make sure you get good nickel plated magnets as they will not rust.
That is cool - too bad I don't have a metal ring around my pool
Thomas H most liners have it. This is to prevent roots penetrating the liner.
I Have a fiberglass pool and hotglued suction cups to mine. Works the same as if i had magnets and metal.
Very good. Let me know if they pop off and sink to the bottom. Mine did with suction cups.
