I took delivery of my 2023 Nissan Versa S with the 5 speed manual transmission back in January. Since I turned 18 years old I started building my credit for 1 year, and now at 19 years I was able to buy my first new car at a great interest rate. I just watched a review from the versa they sell here in Brazil. The guy said factory had some problems and for that reason they were producing less vehicles. Yes, here's in Brazil the versa was also out of stock pretty much. The top of the line version here is called "Exclusive" and goes for almost 26k. The base version is 21k (there's no manual version here). The base Corolla here is 29k, by the way.
Nissan really hit it out of the park with the Versa. You could buy a dozen of them for the same price as that one Bentley that was keeping you company in the parking lot. Mind boggling.
I have a 2024 S manual . Bought it today 17,410 out the door . Will it hold up as well as a 2024 base Corolla? With careful maintenance I think the annual cost of ownership over seven to ten years will be close .
I think these cars are important for young drivers and small families on limited income. I can't find a decent car for my young cousin who's a single dad. Winter is coming, i dont want him on the bus. My budget was $4000 but cant find anything less than $5000. But if im spending more than $5000 I'd like the miles less than 120-150k. But all the miles are close to and OVER 200,000🤷 At this rate we might as well go NEW, and just have a small car note. This info is invaluable. Hyundai's used to be that go to reliably cheap brand...but not anymore especially with the thefts. This little beauty right here at this price point seems right up my alley
Those seats remind me a lot of the new Subaru Impreza Hatchback RS that's coming this year. Not hating, loving it. Just a bummer that Impreza isn't offering synthetic leather for any trim anymore
If I have power everything and Android Auto then the interior is comfortable enough for me. I drive slowly and I am cheap. For a new car, this one gets my interest.
the black plastic that you zonk on the front bumper, in Canada on the 3 trims they have fog lights that is standard. don't know why the US don't do that.
As a college student who is about to take the driving test and soon after looking for a first car, would this car be a safer and affordable option for a budget newbie driver?

Probably a optional fog lamp spot. Most people won't need it. Stick with a manual transmission and will likely go over 200,000 miles. Get one without all the eltronics and it's about 19,000. Good deal for a new car. Wouldn't buy a cvt model. Going to be problems eventually.

$22k is a great bargain. I WISH a M/T was available
I really like Nissan (Renaults) designs … if they had never brought that crappy jatco CVT they’d be top tier for price and style IMO
Agreed
Have 2022 hyundai accent. Excellent for A to B car, comfortable. Highway doing speed limit 50+mpg and local 35-38mpg. Shame it's discontinued.
I laughed at the on throttle. Good budget economy car. Looking forward to a Maxima review
The Maxima won't be available for long.
How is the cruise control? Is adapative cruise an option? I travel 120 miles round trip per day for my commute, on freeways with traffic. It matters.
Those are great questions.
Not a bad looking car. Its great value for the money 💵💵💵
What is a turn single?
Nice saden 💯 best price for the money
That’s the pretty good power output for such a small vehicle and price level 😂 plus its 4-cyclinders
Joe and Lori and Steve and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯💯💯
Nissan offers some nice value, and it variable compression engines offer very competitive fuel mileage.
This is so very true!
But all the miles are close to and OVER 200,000🤷
At this rate we might as well go NEW, and just have a small car note.
This info is invaluable.
Hyundai's used to be that go to reliably cheap brand...but not anymore especially with the thefts.
This little beauty right here at this price point seems right up my alley
Honestly if the SR trim offered the manual I'd consider it immediately.
Man, I want a Versa!
Isn't the leaf built on the same platform as this? Kinda like a hatch version of the versa.
Easy pizzy skateboard guy just passed me😅
The Versa SR used to have fog lamps there in the past.
I think someone in Canada mentioned foglights are available on their Versas. Don't know the reason why Nissan doesn't have them here.
Looks alright Joe.
Looks about the same size as the 8th gen Civic but might have more rear leg room.
How well do the CVT transmissions hold up on these Versas?
the black plastic that you zonk on the front bumper, in Canada on the 3 trims they have fog lights that is standard. don't know why the US don't do that.
When I 1st saw that black blank on bumper I thought base trim and that higher had fogs but no it carried across the trims
What about the Honda city and Toyota Yaris? Those are competitors right?
As a college student who is about to take the driving test and soon after looking for a first car, would this car be a safer and affordable option for a budget newbie driver?
Absolutely. This is a great car for the money. These small cars are much improved over ones in the past.
I cannot find one in Washington state.
I have to wait until September to see one.
I got a sentra sr premium package for 4k more ... if you go versa go base otherwise go sentra
Joe this car has my full undivided attention.
Hey bro, I heard a rumor that the Altima was getting redesigned for 2024.
@@DarkJediChrisG-1425where did you get the source bro??

Around the same time the Nissan started manufacturing the Versa, Honda came out with the Fit and Toyota came out with the Yaris.
The previous generation did have fog-lamps which is strange
Great looks plus super price = so save that $$ with style and safety 💯+
You are so very right!
I congratulate Nissan for their effort
I had rented a kicks which it’s suv brother I was extremely impressed at the thing!! So a mini version and like joe said it’s about the same size as my 97 Corolla Nissan sold me and joe featuring it I think it’s my next upgrade I was looking at a newer Corolla sure it will last 4x as long but that 1.6 nissan is a good motor.
The Corolla will not last 4 times as long. This Versa should easily go 250,000 to 300,000 miles as long as you keep up scheduled maintenance.
Nice car
Nissan makes a real good product thats overlooked.
Is a manual transmission available in that trim?
Really nice car for the price 😮 great for a daily driver or a second car
Probably a optional fog lamp spot. Most people won't need it.
Stick with a manual transmission and will likely go over 200,000 miles.
Get one without all the eltronics and it's about 19,000.
Good deal for a new car.
Wouldn't buy a cvt model.
Going to be problems eventually.
I need a new commuter... this is definitely a viable option. Denver traffic sucks so I'm not too worried about the 0-60. But I'm worried about mountains passing power.
That is an excellent point!
Dang i was almost first comment😅 love this car but i think i would like the nissan altima vc-turbo better
The 1.5L VCT in the Rogue would be better
