You chose right to get the manual! Not many cars left with a manual these days! My pick is the supra with the manual. When I saw your video about it the GR team does wonders and you really enjoyed it too
I really want one after watching this. Best Z review that I've seen. I much prefer the Z over the supra. Not a big fan of Toyota given that I've enjoyed Infiniti G35 for 10 years previously, replacing it with a 325hp, 3.7-liter engine v6 qx50. Looking forward to getting the base Z model next year for daily driving.
Watch the review of this car from @throttle house, let’s see what’ll you think of the car after, I hate that no other person is reviewing this car strictly
This is basically a 370z. Which was basically a 350z. The rear suspension is all 370, as are the windows, roof and a about 20% of the rest of the car. The transmission came from a pickup truck. The suspension rocks and rolls, pitches and heaves. Look how much body movement there is when he goes from first to second in the parking lot. They took an out of date chassis, gave it a spit shine with a handful of parts from the parts bin, styled it to look like the older cars, like the Americans have been doing on the mustang, camaro and challenger for the past 15-20 years and are hoping you don't notice.
This design looks sick imo (has a nice retro twist to it) and I have a feeling there are gonna be a ton of cool drift-style body kits for it, very soon
For me, not only it looks way better than the supra, I think it will also age way better. The design is sporty, but nothing crazy and it has that old school feel.
Exhaust sounds Bad, I won't even lie. That being said, I know for a fact, ones you install an after market exhaust, it will sound Amazing! because this car has an exactly the same engine as in Infiniti Q50S and Q60S and I heard how those cars sound with a proper exhaust and let me tell you, Woaw!
Great review as always Joe! The Z seems to be great touring sportscar for the road as you said so probably more comfort than the Supra but I have not driven either one. I know you are mostly about performance but would be nice to give opinion about the audio system performance in the cars. Not important to some people, I get it. Even if not done on camera opinion would be great. Look forward to your reviews always!
@Raiti's Rides - Jo, the gear box and clutch is it still manly? The one thing I love around the 350/370 is the heavy clutch and chunky gearbox, feels nice and heavy? secondly, WHICH WOULD YOU get, the Z or the Supra? if it was your own money? As a 350Z Roadster owner... that front for me is the ultimate let down... no LED's on the front... it's just so square and tbh a little dull... it needed to be more rounded... side profile and rear solid... but the Supra looks better... and this really needed to be the 390Z or 400Z... I don't like how we've lost the numbering system which to me points that this could be the last Z car? 1). Terrible front end, really bland compared to the 350/370. 2). No Brembo? logo's Nissan? 3). Needed some cross drilled discs looks really cheap. Bridgestones come on, they're a poor quality tyre for the modern era... Michies needed! 4). Side profile is dull, no Z logo on the front sides? Come on... the front fender looks really bland and too big without a vent or logo? 5). Door handles nice, but they always were nice and flat like previous gens. 6). Nice to see proper calipers not the sliding calipers, thank god for that. 7). The rear for me is the highlight very old school, more old school loving the 300Z reference... lights lovely. 8). Nice exhausts from a looks perspective. Sound wise very very average which we seem to get with alot of turbo engines nowadays... disappointing especially on throttle, Turbos just seem to kill sound... needed better exhausts! 9). Wish they'd not gone turbo... was always ncie having NA power I know for emissions etc, but wish we still had NA power. Considering this has 2 turbos the power increase isn't THAT much really over the old 3.7litre? Turbo delivery for me, is sooooo different and one of the things with the Z cars was the NA mini muscle car engine, now it just feels like any other car... but that's just me. 10). Interior... 12:35 what the heck is going on with the overlapping stiching on the door stitches, that looks horrible. Nice integration on the screen though not some horid bolt on... although grain in a 2022/23 car... come on Nissan!!! No contrasting colour? Grey fest? Mmmm shame... nothing sporty with that interior, would've been nice to upgrade the interiors over the old Z cars, all just too dark... be nice to see yellow stitching or something? Nice pedal box all aluminium and thats good!

i love the rear design classic look but the front i was thinking they could've done better especially those fake vents, huge chunk block space that could've a great functional vent design
Usually with the big grill cars/suvs/trucks they have to block off some of the grill for the front brace. its for safety reasons so that if you hit another car or someone it wont cause too much damage. When i look at my 2023 z i can the fake part but they wouldnt be able to hide it due to the front brace

I love this new Z so far, Joe! It looks amazing.
Joe do you think a Nismo Z will be worth the extra money?
Joe who makes the wrist watch you're wearing in this video? It's a cool one.
Thanks for saying that! It is a Citizen!
Keep up the great content 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼You guys are the best!!!
Love ❤️ the new Z, but…will not be affordable due to over zealous stealerships.
Thanks to Lori for all the hard work making it all look great!!!
i love the rear design classic look but the front i was thinking they could've done better especially those fake vents, huge chunk block space that could've a great functional vent design
Usually with the big grill cars/suvs/trucks they have to block off some of the grill for the front brace. its for safety reasons so that if you hit another car or someone it wont cause too much damage. When i look at my 2023 z i can the fake part but they wouldnt be able to hide it due to the front brace
That front doesn’t have fake vents 😐 it’s literally made that big to cool off the engine since it’s turbocharged now
@@IPL_VIC i think they are talling about the covered vents which it does have in the front. it is just a few though but again its for the crash brace bar.
@@johnjuice933 he talks about it like the Supra fake vents…you are right though, since it’s built on the 370z chassis it has that crash bar. My infiniti has that same crash bar. I have a feeling the nismo will use some of the front bumper to introduce real vents for cooling purposes this time around.
At 15:09 you mentioned ZF 9-speed for the automatic. It's actually a Mercedes sourced transmission, not ZF.
Lol yea hear that too.
Sadly you and i are the ONLY ones to catch on to it. Seems nobody is really paying attention.
@@ACommenterOnUA-cam just because people don’t mention it in the comments doesn’t mean they didn’t notice that…
@@jz7551 oh right i am sure they DID hear him say 9 speed ZF transmission and were ok with it even though he was wrong 🤦🏽♂️
@@jz7551 its called not paying attention.
@@ACommenterOnUA-cam so your logic is:
If they heard what He said, then they must have commented that on UA-cam
If they didn’t make the comment, then they didn’t notice what he said wrong
Ergo, because they didn’t make the comment on UA-cam, they didn’t notice what he said wrong…
That’s a fallacy
If you can’t see why, then you’re stupid, dude
Just stop trolling around 😂
did you have any problems with 2nd gear grinding while giving it the full beans?
I’m saving up for a GR Corolla right now man 😎
BMW Supra and 400Z can wait
11:00 Did the electronics kill that donut, or was that just proof that it can slide even with new tires??
It was the proof!
@@RaitisRides awesome 🤙
I have no issues with the rectangle, in fact I really like it. I do, however, HATE the spilt grill, I think it’d do wonders to have it be a single piece painted METAL honeycomb. Maybe there’s an engineering reason for the spilt but I ain’t digging the aesthetics.
This car is nothing but nostalgia bait and I love that they are paying homage to some of the best features of previous models. Love it!
Call me crazy but I'm not a fan of the looks of this generation. I'd choose the Supra all day over this.
The front grill is not good the rest of the car looks good
@@cuntsneverdie-theysurvive I gotta admit I like the rear, but everything else looks kind of weird. not a fan of the grill ,headlights, hood and not a fan of that “katana” piece by the windows. It also annoys me that the fender, bumper and hood meet in a very weird spot right by the headlight also by the fender, door and hood meet. Once you see it, you’ll know what I mean.
Same! Looks bland and kinda cheap ngl. I don’t think it compares to the Supra in terms of road presence at all. 52 grand feels very overpriced, the performance should be priced closer to the type R.
@@aaronpark7636 performance wise it’s right with the Supra. Even though the z has a little more horsepower, the Supra is lighter and slightly faster because of the weight difference, but I agree, they should’ve made the performance and price closer to the Type R.
@@r3kk470 yeah especially when comparing the engines the vr30 is not even in the same ballpark to the b58 when it comes to tuning potential and reliability
Oh yes!! This is my dream Nissan sportscar.
Terrific job with your content as always Joe.
Not a dream cuz u can reach it.
the GTR's mine
Another great review!
Thanks man!
I think the 9speed was a regular 9speed
Of Course i had buy this Any day over a supra. This clean piece of art will stay Fresh till ages unlike a supra which will look oudated after 2,3,4yrs.
KESA GODISKIND
Nice Nissan Z I really really think this truly the Apostle to the Sports Cars I love how it look. Very Very good design.
Nice review keep up the good Joe
They look better now .than before .
A 3.0L twin turbo V6 that’s a great engine
The Inline 6 in the supra can is better to build...
10:31 WOWWWWWW THAT SOUNDS COOL
The Nissan z is a great sports car
Shady dealerships are going to mark it up.
I choose the Z. Even tho the Supra is a bit faster, the Z is still hella fast.
I won’t be driving the car at a race track, so I don’t care about track performance, it looks better in my opinion, the ride seems to be more comfortable than Supra, I like the Z’s interior better than the Supra’s (although the Supra’s interior materials are more refined -BMW after all-). It’s reliable as well. And it’s a bit cheaper. If I want a fast car with a lot of tuning potential, I’d just buy an used GTR, and would make a monster out of it.
Love the color!
I got 15” and I use it everyday!
Nope... the Supra manual beats the Z performance in literally every performance test, from 0-60, quarter mile, top speed, aerodynamics, lap times, braking distances, it has more trunk space, and head room, and it holds its value better, better G's, better sound system, better MPG...
You still ain't buying one tho
At least Nissan didn’t ask help from BMW they can do shit on their own lol
@@porfiriato84 I have an allocation on both. I’ve driven both. I’m dropping the Z though. It should have been priced in the 40s for the premium. Aside from straight line speed the Z doesn’t feel like it’s on the level of the Supra in any way shape or form.
@@whitemtl370 I'm sure that's the case. I WAS wanting to get a Z but these reviews make me want to go elsewhere.
So for 40-44k I'd rather get a Civic type R, BMW 230i w M sport OORR... Integra type S if it's solid.
@@porfiriato84 I really like the type R and would love to test drive one. Can’t wait to see them on the road
This is the only Nissan I'd buy.
Love what Nissan did with this Z. Looks pretty good and it's great for driving but at the same time it is still a practical car (nice donut, by the way).
Thanks brother man!

Both are sporty and reliable. So, it comes down to style aesthetics ( 25c word of the day LOL ) and brand loyalty.
Mans laughs of enjoyment, are enough for me to get this Z. 😂💯💯
No bragging rights on the horsepower rating vs the Supra. It was dyno’d at less hp than the Supra. Please give viewers the correct facts.
Joe please give us your opinion. Which 2 door 2 seater would you get? Supra or Z? And why? Manual of course on either.
@10:22 it’s not a zf transmission, it’s actually a jatco manufactured, mercedes designed transmission
Beautiful car. We need too stay building turbocharged, supercharged and naturally aspirated car's 👍.
Supra looks amazing, it’s lighter , better aero and it’s faster . Supra wins
Not even Close the supra is ugly
@@kyoakland says nobody . Supra looks likely a Ferrari the Z looks like a gr86
Wait its not a Zf 9 speed automatic, it's a jatco 9 speed
If you don't know how to driver a manual........... don't worry You can ....
This is very true!
I love this car see this Z will be much better than last generations. See Nissan is engineering their cars much better now including the Pathfinder so let's see how this new Z going be love the looks and color.
You are so right Ramon!
I just love the sound of the Supra, I love both cars but as a racer I think the Supra B58 is a better motor and a lot more tunable! Just my opinion, keep the vids coming “🚘
Does it handle the same as the infiniti red sport?
Nice looking but Supra it’s better ..
Supra more expensive doe
Supra looks like 💩
@@minhha2452 actually nope, with the add-ons to make it the same level as the supra is the same price, the "$40k" is for the base model
@@minhha2452 because the Supra is a higher quality car with more tech and faster.
Supra already looks outdated
15:27 🤣🤣
The Nissan Z is a nice little car and I like it. But the Supra is more good looking, has more presence and sounds fantastic. I know a lot has been said about the Supra being a BMW and so on but you cannot argue that it is a touch superior to the Nissan Z and will have people staring as they hear those pops and bangs as you drive past.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Alex!
Joe, I know you love the manual, but would you go auto or manual here?
Also, not much info or pictures on the base package. Any suggestions? Thank you buddy. Great as always!
Joe, you said the Nissan comes with an auto ZF transmission. This is incorrect. You must’ve been confusing it with the Supra transmission
You beat me to it. Nissan uses the Mercedes/JATCO JR913E.
My answer is the Toyota Supra Manuel because is better
Smart man
