You know, one of my favorite memories ever comes from this song. Me, my classmates and older people from the same school were coming back from a trip, it was running late, maybe 10pm, and we were all very tired. Anyways, someone brought his speaker so we could listen to whatever everyone asked him to play. At the end of the trip, it was almost pitch black and this song came. Some like me didn't know all the words, but everyone had heard about it and could vibe to it. So those who really liked it began to sing really loud and well, and we were quick to follow. I learned the entire song on this occasion and had a blast in that great moment where nearly everyone in the bus came together to sing this, and even though its plot is still vague and nonexistent and everything, it will always be one of my favorite songs ever.

Thank you for preparing this great homage of this great 80’s French New-Wave classic! I was teaching in Paris at the Citroen car plant in July of ’86 when this song was at the top of the charts. The 1st time I heard it on a local top-40 FM station, I ran right out to a fantastic record shop on the Champs-Élysées and bought the stereo 45 RPM. I may still have it in my collection somewhere.
In french, they were serious... it's all about a guy (particular or special male partner) searching his second half or or gf (special female partner)... very catchy as you said and was a song you were forcely hearing in any french discotheca in the eighties and the nineties :)

However, as much as the lyrics may sound cheesy, it s hasn't been fully translated properly. Second point is that it totally reflects what probably happened to many of us on some days on a nigh that we were single and felt like meeting somebody interesting, or even better, when we meet that person.
