Fred Chichin, miss him so much, he was a genious. Rita Mitsouko is one of those bands, in France, as soon as you play a song in a party everyone goes on the dancefloor, especially this one and Marcia Baila. The lyrics are also much deeper than they sems to be, very well written. Rita Mitsouko was unique, I saw them live a few times, and saw Catherine in solo tour too, she's awesome. The way they loved each other is in their music too, and now their childs are in music too and does great songs, their daughter is just a Catherine's clone, with the same skill with her voice. Catherine was criticized for the way she earned money before being famous (I'm sure you know what...) but she is so talented that even the ones who were very "angry" about it must admit she's above all a fantastic artist.
WOW! This song is just AMAZING!! I love it! And the visual so cheesy, crazy as Hell, so strange and hilarious at the same time. The rhythm and the guitar are so catchy ... I LOVE IT! An extended version would be fantastic!

Oh, Les Rita Mitsouko - from Paris with love! Unparalleled to anything else on the 1980s pop scene. Quirky cutting-edge pop music accompanied by quirky cutting-edge music videos (most of them directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino). Well done Dereck you have good tastes. In France, this group is called "les Rita", but you should know that the guitarist has been dead for a while now. in life he was married to Catherine the singer. This song is magic, in France you put it in a party, everyone moves from the chair. You should also know that she is over 30 years old, but like all good songs, it does not get old.
Hi Derek ! Thanks for reacting to so many French songs on your channel ! Here in France, we tend to forget how many great songs we've had over the years, and particularly around this period of time. If I may offer a suggestion : please try "La ville" by the group "Oui oui". Not the same kind of music, but the video is as insane as this one, if not more :D !
Hi, I am glad you like The Rita Mitsouko, this specific song is the song of my teenage years. For a French of any generation, it is a staple, since it is still played on radios. I agree with you, Catherine is made for art. She started younger as a pornographic actress in the 70's, met Frederic Chichin and got into this rock aventure. If you love her body language and the way she moves, please, look at the Video "Y a de la Haine". It is musically interesting, and this is the video in which they underline their complicity both in music and life, since they were a couple. Whenever you see her now, she has this melancholic look, and must miss Fred who passed away from a cancer years ago. Good job for your analysis, you are really fair and precise. Thank you.
It's so rare to see non-french ppl reacting to French music, especially 'oldies'. Saw a few French rap reactions but it's pretty much it. Ty for being open minded. U butcher French titles & names tbh😭😅 but it's ok, I know it's hard 😅. The artists u react to are so different, I'm curious, might dive into it 😊
Hi Dereck great reaction, it's so nice to see someone foreign loving this terrific band from France ! I would love to see you react to "La sorcière et l'inquisiteur", it's a less known song from the same band, it's beautiful and very particular, kind of theatrical, with a mystic theme, I'm sure you would be very intrigued by it...
Had the chance to see them live in Montreal before Fred Chichin passed out (he never sings btw) This is one of my faves. Catherine is often dressed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, who is one of her close friend.
This song was a real success ! Nice music with growing talent of Catherine and Fred undoubtedly, but the revolution was the clip made by Mondino with a new technic. He used several cameras to give this jerky and surreal effect and after the editing Catherine seems totally dismantled 💚💚💚
Hi Dereck, I look forward to each of your videos! I recommend "Le Petit Train" by Rita Mitsouko. Catherine Ringer is sensational in it and the contrast between the gaiety of the rhythm and the horror of the deportation described is incredible.
Hello, i think you must listen to another french group called "Indochine". Here is some songs to discover them: -L'aventurier -Trois nuits par semaine -J'ai demandé à la lune Hope you enjoy
Hi Dereck, for brass and horns : Andy !!! and you're so right they are Addictive. The Ritas never repeat themselves, always new but always the Ritas' sound : Y'a d'la haine Le Petit train Les histoires d'A etc...
I love the way you reacts. There's many UA-cam channels of reactions but yours is probably the best. If you like french artists you must try Guesh Patti "Étienne" and Mano Negra "King Kong five", "Out of time man", Chagrin d'amour "Chacun fait ce qu'il lui plaît"
I used to appreciate The Ritas, but not really being a fan... except for this song, that got everything I love in music. And now, thanks to you, I know exactly why : the producer is Tony Visconti ? The same Tony Visconti who produced most of David Bowie's albums ??? No wonder I love this particular song !
I hate the eighties, because I was a teenager ill at ease with lots of complex and acne 😂 but it's true that there was so much originality, liberty, different styles, good songs makers, strange artists, some of inventiveness and madness in FRENCH MUSIC... 😂 I loved les Négresses Vertes, Pigalle, Indochine, Étienne Daho... I hope and I think he knows SERGE GAINSBOURG...
les Ritas, le groupe le plus génial et le plus délirant des années 80-90. toute ma jeunesse...merci dereck de nous refaire écouter ça. merci

Thank you.
This video was directed by Jean Baptiste Mondino, who got a Grammy Award for Boys of Summer by Don Henley video
It's so rare to see non-french ppl reacting to French music, especially 'oldies'. Saw a few French rap reactions but it's pretty much it. Ty for being open minded. U butcher French titles & names tbh😭😅 but it's ok, I know it's hard 😅. The artists u react to are so different, I'm curious, might dive into it 😊
Pour FRÉDÉRIC R.I.P
🙏🏻🕯
Hi Dereck great reaction, it's so nice to see someone foreign loving this terrific band from France ! I would love to see you react to "La sorcière et l'inquisiteur", it's a less known song from the same band, it's beautiful and very particular, kind of theatrical, with a mystic theme, I'm sure you would be very intrigued by it...
Had the chance to see them live in Montreal before Fred Chichin passed out (he never sings btw) This is one of my faves. Catherine is often dressed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, who is one of her close friend.
Did you know Catherine Ringer sang a duo in TV with Iggy pop. I put a spell on you.
Glad to sse à young man enjoying the music I listen when I was also à young french punk ;) !
This song was a real success ! Nice music with growing talent of Catherine and Fred undoubtedly, but the revolution was the clip made by Mondino with a new technic. He used several cameras to give this jerky and surreal effect and after the editing Catherine seems totally dismantled 💚💚💚
Ala Tim even Burton before Tim Burton, I haven't realised that.I have also never noticed the changing of channels.
Catherine Ringer still is a great singer today. Thanks Dereck.
Thanks for the video react.of the Rita Mitsouko there is Histoires d'A
And Andy
Hi Dereck, I look forward to each of your videos! I recommend "Le Petit Train" by Rita Mitsouko. Catherine Ringer is sensational in it and the contrast between the gaiety of the rhythm and the horror of the deportation described is incredible.
Hello, i think you must listen to another french group called "Indochine". Here is some songs to discover them:
-L'aventurier
-Trois nuits par semaine
-J'ai demandé à la lune
Hope you enjoy
Adding Pink Water duo with Brian Molko of Placebo, Grand Secret, Le Manoir, Station 13 ... Pfffts, too many to call from them.
Support him and he will
-Les ombres sur l'O
Et le Groupe NIAGARA
@@zarkange762 That one is called A l'Assault.
One of my favorite video and band!
Hi Dereck,
for brass and horns : Andy !!!
and you're so right they are Addictive.
The Ritas never repeat themselves, always new but always the Ritas' sound :
Y'a d'la haine
Le Petit train
Les histoires d'A
etc...
Ok...you won a New follower my man
I love the way you reacts. There's many UA-cam channels of reactions but yours is probably the best. If you like french artists you must try Guesh Patti "Étienne" and Mano Negra "King Kong five", "Out of time man", Chagrin d'amour "Chacun fait ce qu'il lui plaît"
Thank you...means alot❤️
