    A very useful combination not only for boxing, but for self-defense as well.
    Mike Tyson would does it a bit different, however. He throws a jab usually with a bit of a squat or bending, then steps outside with a slip, and then strikes the left hook at an angle sideways to his opponent, so the punch is stronger and a lot harder to avoid. One of the main reasons he was such a KO artist is that he constantly moves his legs and body into weird angles sideways, flowing through stances and positions with ease, switching lead legs all the time.

    Really like how the coach emphasizes turning the shot over. When you turn over shots even little shots can be significant.
    Love from the Bronx fellas 💯

    • @michaeltoddsdisgustforlosi6196
      @michaeltoddsdisgustforlosi6196 2 роки тому +4

      He’s turning his shots over but not really following through, a text book hook would have your hand and upper arm ending closer to your body. If you see at 0:36 yes he’s turned it over but his upper arm is facing straight ahead which is not how you get the most out of a hook. you want to contract your front delts and chest like a pec fly kinda. how are you going to have a circular attack and not end up off center line after you follow through ? His upper arm should be on a 45 degree angle or more instead of straight ahead..

    hi coach, your video really help me in my boxing. I'm a muaythai n kick boxing. the way boxing stance n pivot is prety diffcult if used in muaythai or kick boxing sparing. cause boxing stance is close so it's diffcult for me to kick if I'm throwing combinations. but finally I got it. I have to adjust my stances. for example if I throw jab cross hook by the time I hook I pull my kicking leg so I can kick

    I am boxing since almost a year, 3 times a week. always sparring. I always try these awesome russian combos (I just use the easy ones from master alexey). if you do it right, nobody can see it coming in your gym. only thing they do is watching american boxers. or learn classic boxing (which is the right thing to do as a newbie like me)
    but it is SO hard to do them correctly. this one in particular. I wouldnt dare without a russian coach guiding me. this kid is really lucky and will become a very fine boxer. shout out to the great russian boxing technicians!!

    Where is the course? That link doesn't work but this like the most educational content I've found for me. He seems to explain things in the way I think. I constantly think of body mechanics and the basic theory of things, and that's exactly how he explains. I don't like when people say "just do this" or "throw a combo like this". Like explain why I'm supposed to turn my hand over, explain why I'm supposed to bounce, like get into the mechanics of WHY we do what we do in boxing.
    I want that fuckin course!

    Question :
    I started Muay Thai half a year ago. Does this technique make sense in muay Thai. Because while you Slip the opponent can knee or kick you on the face if you go a little low with your hear

  • @jasongenn39
    @jasongenn39 2 роки тому +2

    The other thing I suggest is stepping and jabbing is a little slow. Less power behind it. Rather than stepping push off with the rear foot and slide the forward for it you will have the inertia of the body weight behind the jab and it will be far smoother and quicker.

    European folks always said to come high with your weight moving forward. No body twist it's an arm punch.

    • @youareaspook5897
      @youareaspook5897 2 роки тому

      depends, heavy hooks to the body or inside the pocket should body twist because that is how you generate power at the closer range and when hitting a more solid target, to snap the head around with a hook requires less force than to hurt someone with a liver shot

    • @dannydooshbag6039
      @dannydooshbag6039 2 роки тому

      @@youareaspook5897 but you don't see Tyson throwing hooks high like that. You can sit your weight back different if you want to hit the body or head. I learned a lot from Georgian fighters but told the trainer straight up. You should not bring your weight up high especially if yare shorter

    That's nice and all but with a faster opponent he will catch you slipping at the slip part it's too long to come back to the hook. What about if you throw the jab and the hook same time to catch your opponent with a straight and hook to the face it will make your opponent stumble. I know dis from experience.

      I usually think about the reason I first started boxing - to protect myself - it may not be the same for you but my fights were on the street with men a bit older and bigger than me at my school trying to take my money or push me around - when I get in the ring I focus that I have no option, I must fight or I will be hurt, badly. this is especially true in a boxing match - nobody will pull their punches for you and they have entered the ring expecting you to do the same. It dishonours the opponent, also, not to use your full strength, they have entered with the intention of forcing you to submit to them as stronger, you must do the same - if you're not ready to go and fight for your life, dont get in the ring

    It looks good good idea the issue I see is the telegraphing is pull your arm back for wind up then your punch forward and the delays that also indicates what you’re planning on doing. The other thing is when you do a shuffle it should be all one not one to e.g. you take One step land and then you punch when the punch should be coming out as soon as you leap forward. And the other issue I see is user covering up so much it is extremely difficult for you to see what is going on

      boxing is unnatural - humans have never fought with their fists naturally, they are weak, brittle and break if you throw hard punches without protection on your fists. thats why boxing is a sport that must be learned over many many years whereas running you can learn in months as a child or wrestling can be developed with friends as it is the method which most humans have used to fight in history
