A very useful combination not only for boxing, but for self-defense as well. Mike Tyson would does it a bit different, however. He throws a jab usually with a bit of a squat or bending, then steps outside with a slip, and then strikes the left hook at an angle sideways to his opponent, so the punch is stronger and a lot harder to avoid. One of the main reasons he was such a KO artist is that he constantly moves his legs and body into weird angles sideways, flowing through stances and positions with ease, switching lead legs all the time.
Really like how the coach emphasizes turning the shot over. When you turn over shots even little shots can be significant. Love from the Bronx fellas 💯
He’s turning his shots over but not really following through, a text book hook would have your hand and upper arm ending closer to your body. If you see at 0:36 yes he’s turned it over but his upper arm is facing straight ahead which is not how you get the most out of a hook. you want to contract your front delts and chest like a pec fly kinda. how are you going to have a circular attack and not end up off center line after you follow through ? His upper arm should be on a 45 degree angle or more instead of straight ahead..
Im really enjoying these videos.. Thank you for the english dubs.. Peace to my russian or whereever these are from brothers... From an American living in Africa... Boxing is universal....
hi coach, your video really help me in my boxing. I'm a muaythai n kick boxing. the way boxing stance n pivot is prety diffcult if used in muaythai or kick boxing sparing. cause boxing stance is close so it's diffcult for me to kick if I'm throwing combinations. but finally I got it. I have to adjust my stances. for example if I throw jab cross hook by the time I hook I pull my kicking leg so I can kick
I am boxing since almost a year, 3 times a week. always sparring. I always try these awesome russian combos (I just use the easy ones from master alexey). if you do it right, nobody can see it coming in your gym. only thing they do is watching american boxers. or learn classic boxing (which is the right thing to do as a newbie like me) but it is SO hard to do them correctly. this one in particular. I wouldnt dare without a russian coach guiding me. this kid is really lucky and will become a very fine boxer. shout out to the great russian boxing technicians!!
Where is the course? That link doesn't work but this like the most educational content I've found for me. He seems to explain things in the way I think. I constantly think of body mechanics and the basic theory of things, and that's exactly how he explains. I don't like when people say "just do this" or "throw a combo like this". Like explain why I'm supposed to turn my hand over, explain why I'm supposed to bounce, like get into the mechanics of WHY we do what we do in boxing. I want that fuckin course!
I really really appreciate that great knowledge Russian school of boxing is staggering! I just can't agree with the way hooks are thrown (the hand and the shoulder position). I thought the debate was closed about it but 🤷🏾♂️ it seems not
There is some problem with the order form. If I am having a problem with an order, I wonder how many others are doing so. I love this guy's content. I have tried to get it at a reduced rate, even though it is worth the higher price.
Oi so I’m lefty….. Right jab (duck as throwing) Slip left You can body punch (liver) Rising as throwing left cross Or Just skip the body punch and do cross….
Question : I started Muay Thai half a year ago. Does this technique make sense in muay Thai. Because while you Slip the opponent can knee or kick you on the face if you go a little low with your hear
The other thing I suggest is stepping and jabbing is a little slow. Less power behind it. Rather than stepping push off with the rear foot and slide the forward for it you will have the inertia of the body weight behind the jab and it will be far smoother and quicker.
depends, heavy hooks to the body or inside the pocket should body twist because that is how you generate power at the closer range and when hitting a more solid target, to snap the head around with a hook requires less force than to hurt someone with a liver shot
@@youareaspook5897 but you don't see Tyson throwing hooks high like that. You can sit your weight back different if you want to hit the body or head. I learned a lot from Georgian fighters but told the trainer straight up. You should not bring your weight up high especially if yare shorter
That's nice and all but with a faster opponent he will catch you slipping at the slip part it's too long to come back to the hook. What about if you throw the jab and the hook same time to catch your opponent with a straight and hook to the face it will make your opponent stumble. I know dis from experience.
Very good for self defense, boxing Queensbury rules is very good for self defense, boxing is not good for ordinary men because ordinary men can receive a low blow to the testicles,. I knew a boxing coach, was a coach for maybe 40 years but his hands and fingers were catastrophic! (bashed up fingers, knuckles)
I usually think about the reason I first started boxing - to protect myself - it may not be the same for you but my fights were on the street with men a bit older and bigger than me at my school trying to take my money or push me around - when I get in the ring I focus that I have no option, I must fight or I will be hurt, badly. this is especially true in a boxing match - nobody will pull their punches for you and they have entered the ring expecting you to do the same. It dishonours the opponent, also, not to use your full strength, they have entered with the intention of forcing you to submit to them as stronger, you must do the same - if you're not ready to go and fight for your life, dont get in the ring
It looks good good idea the issue I see is the telegraphing is pull your arm back for wind up then your punch forward and the delays that also indicates what you’re planning on doing. The other thing is when you do a shuffle it should be all one not one to e.g. you take One step land and then you punch when the punch should be coming out as soon as you leap forward. And the other issue I see is user covering up so much it is extremely difficult for you to see what is going on
You can, but remember that head movement and guard style are somewhat different between the two styles. Moving your head in Muay Thai can invite head kicks and knees to the head.
Dunno, I'm sure he knows his stuff but I just don't get the flow of what he is teaching. I watched several of his videos and the moves he shows just don't seem natural. I've worked with many coaches and watched many and some great fighters cannot impart knowledge onto others and some coaches just stand in front of you and you start to mimic what they show you and it all just clicks.
boxing is unnatural - humans have never fought with their fists naturally, they are weak, brittle and break if you throw hard punches without protection on your fists. thats why boxing is a sport that must be learned over many many years whereas running you can learn in months as a child or wrestling can be developed with friends as it is the method which most humans have used to fight in history
Yeah the issue I see is you are striking someone’s face was an open hand? That is the issue you have when you were gloves rather than clenching your fist. If you had a fist clinch they will be far more power behind it unless issues like breaking face or fingers.
Fantastic as usual Coach Alexey!
Hey Fran, long time no see,you indeed a GREAT VIRTUOUS BOXER TOO!
Fran approved. You know you're getting some good info
All your techniques being truthfully applied to my Muay Thai trainees.I owe you
So obvious Mister Sands...A great coach always recognise a great coach. Thanks for your work.

He made it look easy. And what's so scary about that is that he was a heavyweight.
Love the way you empathise the importance of certain moves, skills etc really helpful. Good to see you on here Fran love your work to. 🥊

Hi Coach, what do you think of doing pushups on ones knuckles? Does that help punches at all?
It’ll help ur wrists more than anything. Would highly recommend. Do on a carpet or pad not a hard surface obviously
@@NobleVagabond2552 for wrist strength it is better still to get a medium sized weight and do some rotations and movements slowly
Great knowledge
I feel like they arent going to give 100% English quality to keep Russia winning lol

Apart from that I do enjoy it I get some ideas from you definitely thank you for sparing the time to educate your viewers
...I think Mike M did something like that on Donald C, and became the champ with all the titles, he won that night....
European folks always said to come high with your weight moving forward. No body twist it's an arm punch.
depends, heavy hooks to the body or inside the pocket should body twist because that is how you generate power at the closer range and when hitting a more solid target, to snap the head around with a hook requires less force than to hurt someone with a liver shot

When u said it's can be hard to throw 3 punches in a row just shows how impressive muhammad ali was throw 12 in 2 seconds
When did these start getting dubbed in English?!
Is it true natural fighters don't need coaching it come natural?
no
Any advice for developing "killer intent". How do you throw full force punches at your opponent when you know they're another human being?
Let them hit you full force, first. If you decide you don't wanna do the same to them... go play baseball.
Don’t focus on the fact you are hurting another human or bringing them pain. Focus more on the move or how it’s supposed to feel.
Think of Donald Trump and that will give you the motivation to counter with full force punches quiet well!
She's been around for awhile, so she's crafty. You may finally get her to stop pinching your cheek.

Did this combination I can make with Thai boxing ??
I don't see why not? It's a basic combo that works in all striking forms
You can, but remember that head movement and guard style are somewhat different between the two styles. Moving your head in Muay Thai can invite head kicks and knees to the head.
My favourite was always left hook made by Ramon Dakker but I see boxers they are making this slip different way

great trainer but it's amazing how he can look like he's on meth and drunk at the same time. disconcerting
I dont like that combo.. awkward as hell, and no power in the hook.
It's never about what you like,it's always about what need to be done.
Don't forget your steroids. Russians NEVER do anything without steroids 😆
First, his stance its weak
Fun video but there's just no way he could be a good coach because he's Russian. Same with the student.
Yeah the issue I see is you are striking someone’s face was an open hand? That is the issue you have when you were gloves rather than clenching your fist. If you had a fist clinch they will be far more power behind it unless issues like breaking face or fingers.
This is not a realistic technique! It will not work in professional boxing! Rubbish!
No hay potencia en ese golpe
That's a horrible left hook. All shoulder. Power comes from the hips.
That's the Western Hook -- this is the Soviet Hook.
