    Spanning 30,000 kilometres from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia in Argentina, the Pan-American Highway is the world’s longest road.
    It connects North and South America. Except….for a dense impenetrable jungle on the Panama-Colombia border. This is the Darién Gap. Known locally as El Tapón or the "The Plug", this is the only land bridge between the Americas. This 106 kilometres break in the Pan-American Highway of dense jungle is one of the last great untamed places on earth, one of the world’s most biodiverse places, an incredibly beautiful piece of nature, but to those passing through it is…

As a peruvian, it would be great to cover my country given that it recieves little to no attention in english speaking media but they should because of it's location and the drug cartels and other organised crime groups that quietly operate there and I dare saying control the Republic of Peru's state[or are in the process of doing so] and are the ones responsible for the deforestation of the peruvian amazon by mining and pollution[which isn't talked about it much even in spanish speaking media].

    What people do not realize is about the unelected leader of Haiti that was backed by the 3 powers was so that aid treaties could be set up. No country can enter another without an agreement with someone in charge lest it be considered an act of aggression if not out right war. It’s a terrible situation… Kenya was set to send its special ops police force to safeguard civilians & dispense aid but bc the gangs ( who profiting wildly from lawlessness) forced the resignation of Henri’ the deployment had to be stopped.

      If the sanctions weren't effective they wouldn't exist. Things were bad in Venezuela before the sanctions yes. Things were bad in Ireland and Greece in 2008 and in Argentina in 2002. Imagine if during the peak of those crisis in those countries suddenly the major/only export of that nation, the export it used to earn hard currency used to purchase imports, was sanctioned and thus cut off from the global market. It would lock the economic disaster in forever. Venezuela cannot economically recover under sanctions, that's literally the purpose of the sanctions.

      In the Haiti video, a person mentioned in the comments that Cogito had avoided using their animations because it was a serious topic. I guess the same thing happens here, in fact this guy had said he wanted to deal with quite a few topics like: West Papua, Sudan, Rohingya... I will most likely keep this style of videos

      @@eduardobenitez4584 Makes sense. I think he had a great niche for himself covering historical-cultural topics. It highlighted his passion while still showing off his humor and unique animation style. If he feels covering these serious news topics aligns more with his 'mission' then fair enough it makes more sense to keep doing this new style. I just personally feel it gets lost in the sea of many other channels doing the same.

    Funny how you keep saying they have to cross X amount of miles or they have to get over the mountains. The funny thing is they don’t have to do that. Nobody forced them to come to the US. They could’ve easily stayed in their own country. They could’ve easily stayed in their own country and fought for change instead of expecting a free ride in the U.S. And even worse is when they get to the US their life will be just as bad as it was in their country.

    • @CogitoEdu
      @CogitoEdu  2 місяці тому +3

      Statistically the "harder" the US border is the more people die. It's why kidnappings and murders at the border have spiked massively in the last decade.

    • @qwertywillbecool
      @qwertywillbecool 2 місяці тому +1

      Only because they still think they can make it so they take the risk. If the US genuinely shut the border, no one would try because they would know they have no chance at success.

    • @CogitoEdu
      @CogitoEdu  2 місяці тому +3

      You're simply restating US border policy developed 30 years ago. It hasn't and didn't work. Deterrence is a failed policy. People crawled over the Berlin Wall, and that was an extremely guarded wall in 1 city not a wall crossing thousands of kilometres. Those researching this issue have clearly stated that the best policy would be to redirect deterrence funding to making the asylum process clearer and faster. The second best policy would be to stop destabilising the region through coups and economic warfare.
