THANK YOU PETKO, we’re so happy.. It’s green agate a semi precious stone, that’s water safe.. We didn’t know he didn’t like skulls, so we are so thrilled, to see skull T Mountain.. 🥰👍🏻🇨🇦🔥
@@tarantulamum4322 we got it from a Crystal dealer, green agate is safe, any sulphites. In it.. are not , so be careful .. most Crystal wholesalers sell them very reasonable 💀where are you in the world. ?
The way they house communally really intrigues me. I would have totally housed them in a large enclosure in fear of them predating on one another... You learn something new everyday! 😁
Unfortunately they will canabalise. These communal experiments have been done before, it may last for a time….but the end result will be one fat spider.
The difference in size probably has to do with some kind of hierarchy between the tarantulas. Which probably means that if you want the smaller members of the communal to grow properly you would need to feed the more dominant members of the group more until they don't want to eat anymore for the smaller ones to have a chance. That's probably why most communals fail, people assume that if there are 5 tarantulas in an enclosure that it's fine to throw in 5 feeders in the enclosure and call it a day. But in reality there will always be a difference in the feeding responses between individuals and the ones with the strongest feeding response in the beginning will continue to have all the advantages throughout the life of the communal.
I love how the little skull looks in the enclosure. The size difference in each T is so bizarre. Such an interesting little family of T’s you have there!
At one point you did a great impersonation of Homer Simpson as you were admiring them. Perfectly reasonable explanation for the addition of the skull and it is very pretty, but could it be a slippery slope? ;-)
Love the skull! We have similar skulls in our juvie G. pulchra and our T. stirmi enclosures. I don't remember what they're made out of though! The one in the pulchra's enclosure is white marble looking, and the one in the stirmi's is multicolored but with browns and oranges.
Personally I thought that rehouse was absolutely ideal and very well executed. Lastly, this species is just plain beautiful to watch, thanks for the great video!!!🤟🤟
Hello. Just wanted to say I enjoy your videos very much. I have Arachnophobia and about 5 weeks ago, I got my first 3 Tarantulas. It is really fun and interesting watching all of your vids about your T's and DIY projects. Really awesome so thanks for producing fun content 😊
Maybe a cool idea for a future video, a new beginners guide? You could talk about what species are good for beginners, the enclosures and sizes you need for them and just the basics you need for owning a tarantula
Great video Petko! Random request could you make a video on your plants? I know that's weird but I just got into plants and your plants all look amazing! Would make an interesting and different video 👀
Don't forget to water those plants. The broken one needs to grow new roots. It's amazing the size difference between the spiders. I have a skull like that made of Ruby and Zoisite I got at a rock Show. It's my favorite. Nice video!
Id suspect the reason for the size difference would be them competing for food, where the bigger one has a larger apetite and is more of an agressive feeder than the smaller ones. This then results in it eating more of the feeders you put in the enclosure, leaving less for the others leading to more rapid moulting.
I love the Dark Den, I get excited on Saturday as I know Monday will arrive soon with a new video! I know that sounds sad but I am trying to recover from a very sore and painful bruise and ulcers that were caused by my prosthetic limb! If I need to go into hospital I will definitely be taking the Dark Den with me, I am going to watch the old videos right through to the new ones. Actually I may start today, I hope everyone is having a great week! 🌟🥇🌟
1) the fast growing could of course be a male, but chances are like 50/50. 2) 4 of them will very likely end up as very valuable T food. you can stuff as much pokies in there as u want.
I love how everyone always says Metallica’s are like evil and will try bite your arm as soon as you open the lid and then just in reality they’re super calm most of the time
They are gorgeous!! The big one has to be male. I'm glad you've got a female for him. Your life is so full it's a wonder you've got time for all of your tarantulas. Have fun and enjoy your honeys pregnancy!!
Oh yes! I had a very large white German Shepherd named Lars. I will always love that name. I can’t use it again myself though. It would have to be one of his large males to live up to the name. 💕
@@TheDarkDen I know it may be a moot point now but have you tried moving them so a smaller enclosure? If they're in the same one as the video of you housing them, they seemed awfully large for such small slings. Maybe a smaller enclosure will allow them to feel more secure and encourage webbing?

same ^^
I'd be worried to even leave them in the same enclosure. It baffles me how there are still all 5 tarantulas alive
understandable :D
I thought with communal species you're not supposed to have a super big enclosure? Otherwise they divide territory and consider each other enemies.
Unfortunately they will canabalise. These communal experiments have been done before, it may last for a time….but the end result will be one fat spider.
*petko goes on vacation*
“Hey friends look what I brought back from vacation! Some leaves, rocks, and snail houses” 😂
Love the skull. It looks amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on a p. metallica. At some point... once I am a bit more experienced
Would really love to see a sort of before and after video on some of your t’s and their enclosures!

the skull looks like ocean jasper. the enclosure looks awesome!
"I will trim the plants so the skull will always be visable" good luck doing that with 5 angry pokies in there xD
Wow it's crazy how much bigger that one is than the rest! Super spood!
You handled that so well I'm happy to have gained a little insight on future rehousing. 🙃
Some very handsome bloo spoods. Can't wait to watch em grow! If they'll come out in the light that is...

You could have left the tape over the skull's mouth though, it looked so Corona-compliant.
Moss aggie.. and what- no sand for THE TEXTURE!
cool and fun rehousing! that rock fits well in the enclosure :)
The foam almost looked like a beard for the skull 💀 😆 what? No sand for texture? 😉😆
