In the zoo in Stuttgart (Germany) they have a big terrarium (i think its about 120 high x60x60) with about 10 Poecilotheria inside. A few years ago metallicas and now regalis. The terrarium have a big korkbark glued to the side so we can look inside. Most of the spiders are chilling in the middle.
hagenbeck hamburg also has a big enclosure with dimensions like this. not way to big for regalis and still to small for a group since they "lost" a lot of them i think. (i dont think p.regalis should be keept in groups) and 20x20x60 is realy not to big for one.
@teckendrums ja in Stuttgart gibts da auch immer verluste 😅 ich bin eh kein Freund von angeblich gruppenfähigen Vogelspinnen, klappt halt nur bei balfouris zu 100%
My mom was born in Stuttgart in 1967 when my grandpa was stationed in the army over there 😊(we’re Americans). She’d be happy to hear she missed out on the tarantulas 😂
I love this idea. It's a nice mini experimental enclosure to see what they do with the space they get. 😊 Really enjoyed this addition to our mini series of the digging burrow long tanks you did previously.
Enclosure looks awesome but watching her climb that high is giving me heart palpitations for fear of her falling 😱 I’m sure she’ll be fine and will grow to love her new home ❤
Sandpaper for cleaning off little bits of silicone if you aren't worried about the area being scratched. I still use the razer blade to get the bulk off though.
Enclosure Looking Straight Fire :) i have a Idea for the Top Edge that gets Destroyed sometimes, what if you would glue some Flat Stones on there, kinda looking like a Cliff? Love the Videos
Hello Petko! I have build an 80L 40D 80H full planted showtank for one Poecilotheria metallica female, i tried to use plants from the original habitat, serched long for the right wood, the tank looks perfekt, but she dont use a little space from it 😀
man i remember when i started watching you. the old times from your apartment i still remember the last tarantula that you had in the apartment wat heterescodra maculata the wall terarrium
I think there should be more into this “experiment”… Also maybe transferring the enclosure to different heights in the room (because of the temperature changes) Like on the floor, in the middle, upper shelf.
Brake cleaner sprayed through the tube of your spray foam gun after each use will clean it out and keep it working. I'm not sure if it will dissolve set spray foam or not. This works on disposable spray foam tubes too.
I recently found my gbb roaming around her enclosure and she seemed to need more space and so I had gotten on a sale a 10g front opening enclosure so I grabbed it and when I tell u she uses every bit of it I cud go to the 20 g and I think she in particular wud use all the space Bec she legit goes all over the place and she has made 2 spots one on either far back corners for herself
my friend I confirm that P. muticus is doing very well, he has already covered 2, (the haba haba times were beautiful) let's say that with the second he was very lucky because after mating the female had decided to have a meal, but he was faster🤣 only now I realized that it was the same animal as the terrarium you made some time ago! a big greeting from Italy, see you at the next Expo in Verona😊
Spray foam can be melted with solvents like acetone and it should leave the metal in your spray nozzle untouched. It might eat the plastic housing though. Might just be easier and less messy to buy a new one. Ask if there is anything you can do to prevent the foam from building up in the gun when you get your new one. I'm sure that someone smarter than I am has already figured out a solution.
let me assure you that a big poecilotheria will use all the space. i even think its on the smal side, they cover 20cm just by there legspan. there are also some great videos on how they live in the wild and how the hides look like.
To any knowledgeable arachnid ppl out there. I look at the size of that spider in her new enclosure and can't help but think that tank, already appears unresized. I truly believe the DD cares immensely for his animals and this is not meant to thow shade in anyway. Typically, I feel most tanks for large spiders appear small....but I'm no expert. Are spiders of this size typically confined to such small areas with little to no movement throughout there life span??
Most tarantulas are not very active in moving around except for males when they are ready to look for females, they are very sensitive to vibrations, this is how they perceive their surroundings and a lot of movement around them will make them feel unsafe. In nature most species find a home to hide in for most their lives - even when given large enclosures most species (not all) will just pick one corner/hide and only stay there. You could argue the smaller enclosures makes them feel safe - they have exo-skeletons and do not need exercise to grow.
I have been your viewer from India for 7-8 years and i have only one question for you why are you using the wrong map of india... This is insulting and not a good thing to do.. If you don't have the correct map of India i will provide it to you......

@@casm4049 ja, ausser bei balfouri hab ich auch noch nicht mitbekommen das es wirklich funktioniert. und grad poecis sind so schon spektakulär genug.
Kat and Linda have all my heart, I've been watching for a while now so seeing them grow me joy
She looks so beautiful in her new enclosure and she is truly a beautiful species of tarantula.
It’s your channel that convinced me to get the octopus tank i always wanted. Thank you
9:55 it will NEVER get old!
Sand ( for the texture) is second only to the actual T 😤
You really need to do this not only with pockies, but in addition with psalms and avics too
This was an excellent idea, Petko!

She is SO pretty! First time here & definitely subbed! Great content!
Petko, Kat is gorgeous!!! Definitely one of my favorites in your collection.
Nice one Petko!!
I love the Dark Den. I come here to soothe my mind.
Love to see that more and more keepers are getting into bigger terrariums!
Enclosure looks awesome but watching her climb that high is giving me heart palpitations for fear of her falling 😱 I’m sure she’ll be fine and will grow to love her new home ❤
such a cool enclosure! I would have loved to see one more big branch or stick in there but hopefully the plant will fill the space out
heck ya dark den video on my birthday .
❤❤❤LOVE THE DARK DEN BECAUSE OF HIM I HAVE TARANTULA NOW 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ CRAZY ENCLOSURES
Greeting from south Africa. Love your videos. Also helpe alot in T keeping hobby
She looks beautiful in her new home❣️

She’s stunning!! Hello from the center of the USA

That plant is a white spotted begonia. I have a few in a 20 gallon long aquarium that I'm turning into an enclosure for a black Asian forest scorpion.
I enjoyed the video so I will indeed comment.. “something” 😂 much love Petko

🎉🎉🎉🎉Kat will look amazing in that🎉🎉
What a cool lady - gotta be clean and pretty to explore! 🥰 I think metallicas are more pretty when they have lost some of the blue colour!

Wow she looks so cool in there❤

Have you considered getting an FDM 3D printer and using it to make different backgrounds?

This channel inspired me to get a spider of my own!
Extra space never hurt :)
Hi Dark Den haven't seen a video in a while
Great vid
Is this enclosure a bit high incase the tarantula falls off the glass when climbing?

I love her new enclosure! I'm bummed mine is a male lol I hope better luck next time!
Sweet HUBBA HUBBA time is the best!
Why didn't you use a longer hide?
Perkins, you love your animals so much 😊
Auto correct 😂
Forgot springtail?
Well, more than one might use that much space.
I believe that plant is an Angel Wing Begonia.
How old is your p metallica

After keeping tarantulas for almost 14 years, Bigger is better in some cases. esp for largr arboreals.
