    1. Settle for second best.
    2. Finish one task at a time.
    3. Practice digital minimalism.
    4. Learn from others mistakes.
    5. Unsubscribe from everything. (…Except Gabe. Lol)
    6. Keep your to-do-list shorter.
    7. Declutter 2x method (declutter your space essentially.)
    8. Start automatically saving and/or investing.
    You’re welcome friends. 😁

    When I first started watching your channel, I did not get it or like it; however, I needed your help so I kept watching. Two years later, this is the most valuable channel I watch. You make it such an inspiration experience and easy ways to make good decisions, stress less while getting more benefits/reap more rewards, and live better with less clutter. You are a charismatic youtube presenter and you back up your information with all of your successes. Your good looks and professional speaking skills also make it better to watch.

    I’ve been trying to simplify my life by just doing things as I think of them or as soon as possible. It took a long time for me to realize how much mental energy I was wasting, obsessing over something for a whole week that would only take me a few minutes to do. Now I can use that mental energy towards more productive things!

    Very good advices. I'm using everything from the list for the last 3 months and I'm really surprised how I changed myself. I'm now contributing more to my learning experience with different things and I'm not losing time in scrolling through a bunch of apps. The declutter helps me a lot for keeping everything at every time clean and well ordered. I also unsubscribed from channels which are only creating videos such as "Let's throw this ball somewhere" etc. I'm only subscribed to channels from which I can learn and improve my life. I also started my UA-cam channel for tech in Bulgaria. Plus I also cleared my debt, and now I'm only saving. Here in Bulgaria the possibilities to invest are not good, it's better to save at the moment with the recession happening.
    P.S. Consistency is the key to success and well being.

    My dear, late FIL had his own version of the “3 things on the to-do list,” which has become family lore. My dear, late MIL would give him a “honey do” list, Dad would do the first 3 things, and throw the rest of the list away! Made Mom both roll her eyes AND smile. Now my husband does pretty much the same thing, and I’ve learned to give him a list with only 3 things on it. 😉😆 (Honestly, that’s about how long his attention span and interest lasts, so I might as well work with what I’ve got!) Happy New Year, Gabe and family!

    In most cases, if you buy a device, it's better to go ahead and pay out the extra money for QUALITY. Not quantity. Not brands. Quality. Know the difference. If you buy something of poor quality, it will likely wear out or break sooner than a high-quality product and you'll have to buy new ones over time costing you more in the long run.
    This is very true with shoes. You also need to pay for better shoes because you'll have yourself a lot of money on medical bills in the future as well as still being able to work when you need to. Or even just have fun. Can't have fun if you can't walk.

    I'm simplifying my life by writing down my weekly goals, so that I know what I'm aiming for instead of just shooting in the dark, as it were. It helps me to focus when I have clear, simple goals as opposed to just ambiguous, big yearly goals that feel unachievable.

If I can do a chore at 10pm, I will. I thought I need to do as much as possible or as the Johnsen's do. My health is most important, so I plan to finish each room/ area in less than a month. It will all be good in time.

    This made me think of you!
    Carl sagan’s thought about books:
    “When our genes could not store all the information necessary for survival, we slowly invented them. But then the time came, perhaps ten thousand years ago, when we needed to know more than could conveniently be contained in brains. So we learned to
    stockpile enormous quantities of information outside our bodies. We are the only species on the planet, so far as we know, to have
    invented a communal memory stored neither in our genes nor in our brains. The warehouse of that memory is called the library. A book is made from a tree. One glance at it and you hear the voice of another person perhaps someone dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, the author is speaking, clearly and silently, inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people, citizens of distant epochs who never knew one another. Books break the shackles of time, proof that humans can work magic.”
    -Carl Sagan, Cosmos

    I automate certain decisions. I don't have to decide what to wear in the morning as I just wear the next item in line in my closet. I don't have to think about what tea to drink as I just rotate through the ones I have. I don't have to decide what to clean as I just follow FlyLady schedule. I don't have to think about investments as I buy only ETFs with dividends then have them in DRIP which automatically uses dividends to buy more ETF stock\bonds.

  • @marcushoward6560
    @marcushoward6560 Рік тому +1

    I am buried under clutter, everywhere. I should probably get rid of half of what I own, and I actually want to, but I am so afraid of what pure, fresh-hell evil is coming, that I am afraid of not having what I'll need. That is how it always works out. Sell scrap metal - the price immediately skyrockets after. Buy stock - the price immediately plummets after. Unpack those last few boxes - immediately have to move. Use up the last roll of rope, it is suddenly unavailable at the store. So many times, I (and others) have been helped because I hung on to or bought "excess" of something, and I've been helped because friends have done the same. I know the moment I got rid of everything, everything would just completely collapse and then I'd really be screwed. The clutter and fear doesn't make for a good life, but the clutter and fear came from life not being good. I don't see any possible way to win.

      You’ll be so surprised once you’ve started. If you can replace it for under $20 in less than 20 minutes, it’s ok to let it go.

    • @sarahmacrae8277
      @sarahmacrae8277 Рік тому +1

      Not everyone has spare $20, I sort of get this decluttering can be a privilege, but also decluttering doesn't mean getting rid of things you need, but the fear of selling or buying at the wrong time is something to overcome, you are almost certainly remembering the times it didn't quite work out for the best and forgetting the times it did. This is well documented that bad experiences are on average spoken about passed on to friends 11 times while for good ones it's only three. It is better to save at a second best interest rate than not save at all.

I’ve been exercising MUCH more than before, but I haven’t changed my diet yet. I am very proud of my fitness and energy level right now. Next up will be the diet, but I won’t beat myself up because I’m not this perfect being who is doing the perfect diet along with her workouts. I honestly feel no guilt anymore because I am doing this one thing well.
    I’ve learned to make a few small goals and follow those, and not try to be a perfect human being.

    For me with digital minimalism I found that if I limited the time I spend on various apps in my settings, it didn't actually work for me because I ended up adding to the timers instead. So for my digital minimalism I found that I had to completely remove all distracting apps from my phone. I started by deleting the Kindle app and only reading e-books on my actual Kindle, lived with that for awhile, but found I had just replaced that time by playing more games on my phone. So I deleted all games on my phone. Finally I deleted all social media on my phone so I can access it only via my computer. This has helped me sooooo much.

    You wanted to sell me 4 products in this video of 10:42 plus the add I watched in UA-cam 🤯
