When I was 9, Disney Adventures magazine was talking about giving away a $500 shopping spree. My friend and I were imagining the things we could buy with that. My mom happened to walk outside just as I was saying, “I mean, you could buy a house with that!” She, in no uncertain terms, told me yeah no, no one will sell you a house for $500. My friend said, “What about like a really small one?” Not even like a really small one ☹️
I charged $600,000 on my mom's credit card during the 2009 recession, plunging my family into poverty shortly after. But my club penguin puffle looked fresh tho.
I took $20 dollars from my moms wallet in like 2006 and she still keeps talking about it to this day about how I “stole a great amount of money from her”
I can top those stories. When I was a baby my mom gave me her shiny wristwatch to play with, and I dropped it while she was pushing me in a stroller, she didn't notice until we came home. So she never found it (I'm guessing somebody else picked it up), but she still keeps it on her list of all the bad deeds I've done in my life. Another terrible war crime I had apparently committed was as a 10-year-old stay for too long at a playground. My parents played the counting game, I wanted to stay though, so they just left and locked me out of the house. And to think that there are some parents out there who have to deal with drug-addicted or violent kids, and then there are parents who don't have such problems with their kids but inflate very trivial issues to make it look like their kids are practically crack whores or something.
Once when I was 5 stole $100 from my dad,put it in my CLEAR piggy bank, and said nothing. He figured it out the second he was missing a $100 bill,I said it was a joke(he knew it wasn’t a joke but didn’t care I was in kindergarten).

omg i had the exact OPPOSITE reaction to the million dollars thing-any number over 50 seemed massive so i remember asking my mom at the bank how much money we had and she said she’d tell me when i was older, but then i asked “do we have more than 100 dollars?” and she hesitated and was like “okay, ill tell you that we have more than 1000 dollars” and i was convinced we were rich
I remember saying something along the lines of "imagine having $500, you'd be set for life" and my mom was like $500 won't get you through a week. I was shook
This was me 😂 Also I remember a childhood friend had a lot of costume jewelry, glittery clothes, wore that gunky kid makeup, etc. I was fully convinced she was rich. I remember going over to her house, her dad owned a dump and I was in awe at the wealth of old cars in her yard, even a bus that could be made into a sick fort if only it weren’t filled with wasps. I remember standing in the few inches of floor space in a room while she dug through things her goth sister had left behind when she moved out, staring hungrily at shiny black platform boots she unfurled from the heap. I left thinking she was rich. To date her yard has cooler shit than basically any mansion I’ve seen- but I wasn’t allowed to go over there anymore after my parents found out her dad and brother were uhh. Unsafe to be around. I was really pissed as a kid bc I thought they wouldn’t let me hang out with her bc she was poor to them. In hindsight I’m kinda glad I stopped going over there, I think she’s moved out and I don’t know what she’s up to but idk man. She was cool and I hope she’s like, safe and shit.
My mom taught us the value of money by explaining us what she did at work and how much she was paid for one hour of work, so when we asked for stupid shit she'd say "For this thing, I would have to work for 4 hours doing physical chores and all, is it really worth it?" and she also had us "work" with her (very minor tasks that kids can easily do) and paying us the same she was making for our time of "work". I think it's a nice way of teaching :)
Yeah I was raised by a single mom, and she was always very open with me about how much things cost and what her budget looked like. It helps give a grounded understanding of what money is and what a budget is early.
I just wanna shout out the kid who left the "I like trains" comment. He didn't indulge in all that tomfoolery that was on display. He just wanted people to know that he's really into trains. Good for you, kid.
that’s an interesting observation but to be fair, that is how a lot of kids talk in front of a camera. an adult vlogger might sound like this only because they have a young audience and want to get on their level. i know the kid’s vlogging is staged but the enthusiasm in his voice should be more real than an adult’s. it’s not a good idea to shove a camera in the child’s face and publicly expose him but i hope he was still having fun
maybe it shouldn't be? Those adult vloggers are targeting children. Do you think they speak normally? No! The adult vloggers actually try and speak more childlike and less adult like, so it's probably easy for the children to speak this way. Because the adult vloggers are using child like languages to target them. Kind of the way mothers have a special way of talking. You know it. "whuse a gud wittle gurl you are! yes you are" -> baby speak. Interesting fact, this doesn't just happen in English, every language has a "baby talk" that mothers use with their children instinctively. They use speech that is easier for babies to learn remember and imitate. Vloggers are using a type of "child talk" to target children. The reason the vloggers are using it is disgusting, but the fact that children are imitating it is completely natural and expected.
The oldest son and the dad have alright acting, and for how young he is the little one was pretty good too. It's just that the premise of the video didn't make sense (which really I don't think it even has to- it's clearly made for kids). The mom was really bad tho.
Eh, that haircut is common among a lot of married moms in the lower middle class that are on the threshold of middle age, and there's a reason for it: they don't have time in the morning to do their hair because they have to raise their kids and do chores for the husband. What they want is a haircut that is really cheap (i.e. super easy) and doesn't require maintenance beyond a little combing. So, the poor man's Vidal Sassoon cut, a kind of ugly asymmetric page/bob hybrid, is what such women usually get. Really poor women don't get their hair cut at all and it grows out into long, dry strands. In Europe, women get the same haircut as the men do: hedgehog style, those ugly spikes that guidos and douchebags made intolerable in the States. It's even worse than the Karen bob.

Revisiting this in light of the new legislation in Illinois and the arrest of the mom from 8 passengers channel. So glad some of these family vloggers are seeing consequences for exploiting and abusing their kids.
My cousin asked my aunt for a toy and she said they didn’t have enough money for it and his response was “thats ok, you can just write a check” which further proves children have no concept of money or credit cards. I remember thinking credit cards were just unlimited money cards but only certain people were allowed to use them.

Eureka Mreum How the fuck is it wholesome? His childhood thoughts were but then his dad came along and fucked it all up. I was the same way, my parents never really instilled any money management in me and it’s negatively affected my entire adult life. I never even realized it until it was way too late. I’m not blaming my parents for all of it, they weren’t terrible people or anything and I made most of my bad decisions on my own but I’m pretty sure if I’d have grown up with parents who taught me to save money and respect savings and security over things my life would have been a lot different.
This is straight-up child abuse, I fully believe that CPS should get involved in situations where children are exploited for money and are undoubtedly forming a loose grasp on reality
My five year old asked me one time why we don't have a UA-cam channel so I can vlog her. I told her it's because I love her. It is not my child's responsibility to perform to make money so I can pay my bills! Do I take pictures and videos of my child? Of course! Do I share them PRIVATELY (not online) with family? Yes. Would I EVER put these memories out in the cesspool of the internet for God knows who to see and do God knows what with? HELL NO! Even if she did something absolutely hilarious or seemingly impossible, I would NEVER put it out into the world for the masses or the media to gobble up in order to get attention and have 15 minutes of fame. Children have a right to privacy and even their parents shouldn't be able to take that away. Because once it's gone, it's damn near impossible to get it back!

Jeesh, I just feel terrible for these kids. They’re at the prime age where you can make any impression on them and these “parents” just don’t seem to care. Growing up lower middle class I always kind of understood the concept of money, not really because I was still a child but I always understood that we would have to check prices before we grabbed stuff at grocery store, grocery shopping at dollar tree at times, and getting 10 toys at goodwill for a $1. It’s always been instilled it me in a way
Okay same, I was looking for someone else with this experience! Like I always had a general concept of money because I was around 4/5 when the 2008 recession hit, and my dad is self-employed. So my whole childhood we were in this loop where we could keep the fridge stocked, buy a new toy, or get hot lunch at school when my dad's business was doing well, but then had to pinch pennies when it wasn't. Like the amount of times the credit card would get declined at the grocery store and the cashiers would have us wait to the side while my mother frantically called my dad/the bank to get it fixed instilled in me real early on that money is not easy to come by lol, and credit cards are not magical entities.
They should have given the moral lesson at the end. Say something like, "This was just a funny skit, DON'T DO THIS YOUR MOM AND DAD WILL NOT BE AS HAPPY AS WE WERE JUST NOW".
Carrigan VanBuskirk or at least acted mad at the kids and fake punished them then been like “don’t do this or you’ll get in trouble and it’s not right to steal” or somin like that
To add on to how little a kid understands money: when I was 4 I cried in FYE bc my dad wouldn't get me a Little Mermaid VHS and kept saying "but you get money back!" (I was referring to change and at that age just assumed anytime you buy something you're just given money back)
Parents, please just spend like 5 minutes checking to see what your children are doing. Don't go crazy, just make sure they aren't being told it's alright to steal from you.

What I found to be the most insane, is that by purposely flashing a credit card that isn't yours so that strangers can use it is a form of fraud, a federal offense. They were basically saying, "committing fraud is funny, you should do it!" And if some kid watching decides to try the same stunt (but for real), the parents will have little chance of recouping the charges from their bank associated with the credit card. (Unlike when real fraud happens, where you are almost always covered).
There's no way a kid Drew's age made a video this good. His mom is definitely behind the camera feeding him the lines. At one point you can even see her shadow move across the wall. Busted.
I hope he does, and then follows him around with a camera. Just playing! Drew would teach the kid to use his brain right, and not care if he whines for video games.
the trope of mothers (and other women in authority, like female teachers) being evil annoying buzzkills in kids content is so damaging, especially in contrast to a "fun" dad who will openly make fun of his wife for being "too bossy." of course people are just gonna see women as nagging bitches when this is the kind of content they grow up watching.
Yeah and I didn't even realize it until I got older how saturated the trope is in media, especially in Nickelodeon and Disney shows. Extra bonus points if the mom or female authority figure had reasonable advice or was making a criticism that was called for in a specific situation but either the MC or some prominent male figure wrote her off for being "naggy".
One time when I was about five I wrote my mom a check for $100000000 because I loved her so much I wanted her to quit her job and spend all her time with me, and that's how I learned how checks work and also how to accidentally give your mom even more of a weird complex about being a working mother
I once took my mom's loose change and buried it all in the garden like seeds so that we could grow money trees and be rich. to be fair I had just started reading the Narnia books so.
whats really really scary about this is that if a kid charges their parents credit card like this, that kid could end up being beaten or psychologically abused by their parent because they are so furious

When I was 9, Disney Adventures magazine was talking about giving away a $500 shopping spree. My friend and I were imagining the things we could buy with that.
My mom happened to walk outside just as I was saying, “I mean, you could buy a house with that!”
She, in no uncertain terms, told me yeah no, no one will sell you a house for $500.
My friend said, “What about like a really small one?”
Not even like a really small one ☹️
But that was a lie. These small playhouse are often under $500 xD

how could you .
Was the one direction album worth it
Dude I feel when I was like 8 I took 50 cents for a gum ball machine and my mom STILL FUCKING TALKS ABOUT IT like 50 cents
I remember when I was 7 and I accidentally spent $3 on a game on my mom's phone. I felt so terrible when she told me what I did and I cried about it for days
XD
I remember crying because I clipped some clips together at a store, then the store owner asked me to unclip them in front of my parents and I almost cryed because I thought I broke them (I was told that if I broke something my parents would have to pay for it)
Haha, same thing happened to me on Fruit Ninja, I think. I can't remember how much I spent, but it was a lot. I cried about for a while as well
yo my brothers are nine and they’ve spent like $30 and only gotten upset when they had the purchase undone by the support team

omg i had the exact OPPOSITE reaction to the million dollars thing-any number over 50 seemed massive so i remember asking my mom at the bank how much money we had and she said she’d tell me when i was older, but then i asked “do we have more than 100 dollars?” and she hesitated and was like “okay, ill tell you that we have more than 1000 dollars” and i was convinced we were rich
How the hell am I first
you were rich
I remember saying something along the lines of "imagine having $500, you'd be set for life" and my mom was like $500 won't get you through a week. I was shook
same goes for me and my batchmates, apparently most of us were just kinda poor and I was one of the financially stable students back then lmao
This was me 😂
Also I remember a childhood friend had a lot of costume jewelry, glittery clothes, wore that gunky kid makeup, etc.
That’s like…. Kinda genius actually
Yeah I was raised by a single mom, and she was always very open with me about how much things cost and what her budget looked like. It helps give a grounded understanding of what money is and what a budget is early.

The fact that the eldest boy spoke EXACTLY like an adult vlogger, down to the same cadence and inflection... is really unsettling to me...
😳
Painfully sad more like, kids today are learning everything they know about society through degenerates faking their personality
that’s an interesting observation but to be fair, that is how a lot of kids talk in front of a camera. an adult vlogger might sound like this only because they have a young audience and want to get on their level. i know the kid’s vlogging is staged but the enthusiasm in his voice should be more real than an adult’s. it’s not a good idea to shove a camera in the child’s face and publicly expose him but i hope he was still having fun
maybe it shouldn't be?

How absolutely dense can someone be to use a rich evans pic but still be offended about people making haircut jokes
stellvia hoenheim hey buddy you’re supposed to be the offended one take back that joke
Bohbear i have a similar hair cut lol

Letting the public know if your child has powers is a one way ticket to a government lab somewhere! You can think I'm "actually lying" all you want. But I know that my priority as a parent is to protect my child, not exploit my child. And if you have kids and they happened to start flying one day and your first instinct is to tape it and show the world, then I feel bad for your kids! 🙄
Your kid asked you that already?
Jeesh, I just feel terrible for these kids. They’re at the prime age where you can make any impression on them and these “parents” just don’t seem to care. From this video alone, it seems to me like the parents’ relationship with each other hovers on a very narrow edge, and their children are there for profit. Heck, even the kids know what’s up!
“Hey kids, have you ever committed credit card fraud?”
No but I evaded my taxes one time and the government chased me with a gun but luckily o ran away

No, but I joined the mafia.

Damn it kid, if you're gonna try and drive your family to bankruptcy at least show us the CVV to the card
Now we talking...btw easy to crack...10×10×10= 1000 possibilities. Worth the effort.
except every card i've ever seen in my life, and to my imagination, any card from any reputable bank with even the slightest understanding of security, all will lock your card after 3 (from my experience) failed attempts in a row.
don't go to a bank that would allow you to make a whole thousand attempts at getting your CVV correct, without getting suspicious and locking your card.
Discover your fortnite special name! 1st name: Your daddy or mommy's credit card number, last name: the CVV and expiration date! Type your name in the comments! :D
Amex print the CVV on the front of the card, so it's all there. I wonder if they actually had a bunch of transactions go through on the card or if they cancelled it before filming.
@@tom-dev It's cancelled or possibly a fake card....... the video is fake.
First off that little boy is so cute I would watch just for him. Second I remember begging my mom for club penguin memberships and when she got me one for my birthday I thought I was the luckiest person ever. Also you can really tell it’s fake because dads don’t wake up that easily
Hell I don't even wake up that easily and I'm 18
This one time my dad was sleeping so deep I thought he was dead. Luckily he started snoring and making other sleeping dad noises.
That's true and they also fall asleep really easily. Or is it a my dad's thing ? My dad falls asleep mid-sentences sometimes. (and his sentences not mine)
My parents paid me $1 for chores a week saving up for a $10 action figure was a huge deal I remember spending $20 for the first time I saved up for 20 weeks as a 7 year old child that was a big deal
20 weeks?! That's like half a year. for an action figure. As a kid, I would've probably forgotten about it by then. Cheers to you for working and reaping those sows.
@@salma-amlas the $20 wasn't on an action figure but I was probably exaggerating a little bit. I do remember saving up for like a month or two for action figures and such though

I never stole my parent's credit card when I was a kid, but I did shoplift a mood ring from a gift shop and my parents made me donate everything I got on the trip to Goodwill and apologize to the shop worker. They put the fear into me for sure.
all that for a single mood ring?
@@lixonzito2481 yep. I've never stolen again though. That experience was scarring as a kid.
ktalexander75 it sounds scarring
... here's a thought... maybe we shouldn't be MENTALLY SCARRING kids with disproportionate punishments for minor transgressions, and instead... Hear me out now...
...Talk to them, maturely, and explain why that behavior is wrong? Like, most kids WILL listen when approached with empathy. We're by in large extremely malleable as children, there's no need to inflict trauma to raise upstanding citizens y'all.

How many times did the parents....
I don't even think these kids realize they are "acting"

What I found to be the most insane, is that by purposely flashing a credit card that isn't yours so that strangers can use it is a form of fraud, a federal offense. They were basically saying, "committing fraud is funny, you should do it!"
And if some kid watching decides to try the same stunt (but for real), the parents will have little chance of recouping the charges from their bank associated with the credit card. (Unlike when real fraud happens, where you are almost always covered).

the trope of mothers (and other women in authority, like female teachers) being evil annoying buzzkills in kids content is so damaging, especially in contrast to a "fun" dad who will openly make fun of his wife for being "too bossy." of course people are just gonna see women as nagging bitches when this is the kind of content they grow up watching.
This is a valid point, actually. The fact that they get away with such subtle sexism is bleak.
The same can be said about the bumbling idiot dad trope

One time when I was about five I wrote my mom a check for $100000000 because I loved her so much I wanted her to quit her job and spend all her time with me, and that's how I learned how checks work and also how to accidentally give your mom even more of a weird complex about being a working mother
