I recently saw a tiktok of a woman trying to find her son whom she lost track of after she got deported years earlier and she actually found him because of tiktok
One of my mottos when it comes to pranks is “confuse, don’t abuse.” I like to mess with my friends in virtually harmless ways that only confuses the shit out of them, like putting photos of Nicolas Cage in odd places or texting them “you forgot your phone at my place” and if they want me to stop, then I stop, no questions asked.
Here's a thing too many people don't know: there are wheelchair users who can walk (ambulatory wheelchair users). I can walk just fine, my legs work, but I have orthostatic intolerance and debilitating chronic fatigue and I need to use a wheelchair for longer outings with a lot of walking or I get really sick. I help my mom get the chair in and out of the car when I can. You can never assume you know whether or not somebody needs the chair they're using based on if they can stand and walk or not. Anyways. Screw these "pranksters" using trauma and disability as props. edit: misspelling
Yes thank you. I use a wheelchair for the same reasons and I was glad that he called the family out for using mobility aids as props, but the way he did it showed a big lack of understanding. The girls parents are really, really gross though and I hope they donate it.
Yes!! My little sister has POTS and chronic fatigue. We had a woman accuse my sister and I of stealing a handicapped parking space because she stood up out of her wheelchair to get back into my car. Meanwhile theres a fully visible handicapped placard hanging off of my rear view mirror.
I'm a big fan of the prank they did on the Stranger Things s1 set where Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery put a tomato slice in Charlie Heaton's trailer because they wanted to hear him ask why there was a tomato in his trailer in his Northern English accent. It's so dumb, but Natalia told the story like it was the funniest thing ever and I love that. Stupid little pranks that are funny to literally just the people involved and not done for spectacle.
I'm going to Hell but the way the boyfriend says "Remember, omg, remember our song?" and then starts awkwardly humming it has me in tears laughing every time
A real prank is a prank that has Everyone laughing and happy, not someone crying or traumatized. It is extremely insensitive to pretend to have lost your memory or be missing, and it's horrible to teach kids that that's normal.
I agree. My brother used to do this to me when I was 4/5 and he was 5/6. I don't blame him since he was so young. And even though I realized after the first or second time that it was fake, (there's only so many times you can ask "who are you? What's talking? What's red?" Before someone catches on.) I developed this fear of getting amnesia. Even years later it stick around. (Talking 13-14ish) I would constantly remind myself of my name, age, where I live, who's around me, what's going on. Then I would repeat it less than 5 minutes later. (This was really strong between the ages of 9-14) And if I hit my head it was a constant loop of the same thing over and over for like five minutes. Now, I don't think my brother's to blame really. I sometimes have this thing where I and/or the world doesn't feel real. I haven't been able to be diagnosed with anything yet. So, I suspect that came into play with my obsession with it. But I have to wonder if I would've still had those thoughts if my brother didn't prank me with that.
I was gonna make a snarky comment about the mom saying "I'm fainting right now" before going limp, but then I remembered the time when I was feeling really faint and I ended up turning to my mom, saying "I'm going ghost" and just sinking to the floor
Okay I'm so glad you're okay and I'm not saying that losing consciousness is ever funny it's often times super scary but "I'm going ghost" is iconic and I'll never forget it
Oh man, watching actual children talk with that specific influencer cadence is just...it's so fucked up. There is no way in HELL that those kids will be well adjusted adults
This hurts my head. My dad has mnd and has lost the ability to walk and it took months to get him a wheelechair. The whole "renting a wheelchair as a part of a prank and pretending to be disabled and upset my family" thing is f-ed up. It's genuinely really upsetting and isn't funny. I wish they would donate what they get to charities because using disability and injury and traumatic real life scenarios as a prank and getting money from it. God I hate people like that.
My grandma has from my mom's side has part amnesia, knowing her for 15 years she doesn't remember me. It hurts so much to see people indirectly make fun and use as a product of a effing mental disorder.
My grandpa has Parkinson's, and he's literally slipping away from us. He's not in a wheelchair yet, but it's a good chance he will be by the end of the year. It hurts to see someone go through that, it isn't funny nor is it cute and adorable uwu. It makes me sick to my stomach.
as someone who’s experienced a close family member having dementia, I don’t think these people realise how traumatising it is to have someone not remember you. I get that most of these are fake and they’re probs all in on it but I’m tired of people making pranks out these actual traumatic experiences
i can’t even imagine i am so sorry you had to go through that. These channels should not be allowed to exploit people trauma like this and i hope that one day it will be recognized.
my grandma died from dementia it’s depressing asl to not be known by ur own family member and then to lose them to something like that and there r just ppl faking it for views? yea no it’s weird and exploitative and gross
Omg that must have been awful. If you don't mind me asking, did they find your family member? I found it really uncomfortable when people joke about going missing for obvious reasons.
yeah my brother has been missing before (he ran away when he was 5 for only few hours) It wasn't that serious ig, but it wasn't funny or anything you should put on the internet. it was pretty traumatic
@@tamarag9975 that’s a really personal question and even if the answer is yes may be prying for upsetting details of a traumatic experience. If the answer is no, you’re asking them to relive that just to satisfy your curiosity :( not a good look pal
One time, a kid in my school went missing and his friends wouldn’t help because they thought he was pranking everyone. He actually ran away and was found injured. These pranks are too normalized. Edit: you guys don’t have to like it or anything, I just wanted to share that this stuff has actual effects every once in a while.
These people are fucking despicable. I lost my grandmother last year, she had dementia and could barely remember any of my family. It’s so terrible to have a family member lose every memory of you, it hurts so much more than these people could fucking imagine and the fact that they’re doing it for money and clout makes me want to throw up.
Dude don't apply your personal bullshit to things other people are doing. The person above me is absolutely right, you sound like one of those people that complain about comics when they make a joke that could possibly have anything slightly to do with something that happened to them like they are the most important person in the world.

As someone who has actually been in a coma and saw how it affected my parents and such, it really sucks to think it’s funny to purposely do that to someone. I didn’t have amnesia (that’s incredibly rare), but I definitely had a while after I woke up where I was not all there and my family worried I wouldn’t ever recover. Thankfully my memory was intact. So yeah. Maybe don’t prank your loved ones that you have gone through a horrific injury and have brain damage. It’s really not funny.
Very relatable, once I forgot what the result of 5x7 is so I accidentally started speaking in an Ancient forgotten Indo-European language in the middle of class, very funny.
Did the person holding that small pug just say "your parents are probably going to get divorced" while shaking that dog around like a puppet? Sounds about right for a kids video on UA-cam
Can we talk about how messed up it is to post a "if she says stop then she has to remove her clothing" video? Pretty much telling little kids that consent doesn't matter.

As someone who does sometimes use a wheelchair, I want to say that I CAN walk. Wheelchairs are just for when I'm super weak, or in too much pain. A lot of us can walk, we aren't fully wheelchair bound all the time. Levels of disabilities vary. That being said, these pranks suck and are bad. Why would you want to scare your parents or partner by pretending you got really hurt? The fuck?
Same here, i have a medical condition that causes extreme fatigue and limb pain, so yeah I CAN walk, but often I use a wheelchair if I have to walk any amount of distance.
i think he just meant it must be jarring to see a girl walk in completely fine, leave in a wheelchair, and then b super energetic outside. but i understand your point.
Yeah, it kind of adds to how messed up this prank is tho coz ppl already have this misconception and those who can walk but sometimes require a wheelchair have the extra issue of not being believed about that - sucks a lot innit
There's something so funny about saying "I'm fainting" while pretending to faint, and _then_ your boyfriend acting like you've died. That's like telling someone that you lightly stubbed your toe and they were like "Oh no, you broke your toe!!!"
That yellow gown that the Dobre guy is wearing isn't even a gown they give people to wear. Its a contact precaution gown you wear over your clothes when you are going into a room with someone who is under contact precaution for stuff like MRSA or C-DIF. It's literally made to be torn off so you can rip it off while you still have gloves on and never have to touch your actual clothes to your gloves or any contaminated surfaces. Actual hospital gowns are not expensive. I don't know why they didn't just buy one.
This side of UA-cam is a side I don't even realize exists until I see Drew comment on it. It truly blows my mind these people have such large audiences...
Ugh I know. I have no idea how Drew can stand watching them. Sometimes I have to spend a few minutes scrolling through the comments before I watch the videos because my poor brain can't stand so much cringe. I'm so glad people like Drew who call out these people are getting more traction.

Immediately, my feed started showing CRAP like mystics, tarot-card readings, horoscopes, Paula Dean recipes, and more junk I'd NEVER click on. (My hand to G-d, what I am saying is TRUE.) I had a TIA in January and losing me memory before I lost consciousness was extremely frustrating. I was in the ER and my neighbor drove me and I couldn’t answer any of the question ( address, social #, etc). And then afterwards when I finally went back to work ( I’m a server ) I couldn’t remember a lot of menu items and what questions to ask. The brother who still has his memories basically lies to his brother about their childhood, telling him they had a great childhood and never telling him now awful it really was. It felt like watching a thriller, and it was just so crazy that it was real
i have a dissociative disorder that causes me to lose my memory sometimes. its mostly just forgetting my name and what various words mean for short periods of time but sometimes i completely forget who i am and who everyone around me is. i also have dissociative amnesia and its also really hard because there are months of my life i dont remember at all. it really bothers me when people turn memory loss into stuff like this. its a very scary thing for the person experiencing it and the people around them and its so disrespectful to make videos like this. every time i see a prank thing its so often something i have personal traumatic experience with and it just feels like a slap in the face. @@Kevin_Theadore1 thank you! I think you misunderstood what i meant by dissociative disorder. I dont have DID or OSDD i have derealization/depersonalization disorder. There was a wave of s*icide pranks here in Brazil a few years ago. I’ll tell some, so TW for s*icide themes. They were all horrific, they filmed their loved ones weeping with their limp bodies in their arms just for clout. I remember one girl started a fight with her boyfriend on purpose and then pretended to off herself. I’ll never forget his cries in the hidden camera video, him hugging her tight and apologizing, it was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever seen and she had the audacity to laugh at his face when she broke it off. One dude was gonna prank his girlfriend and he made up a really brutal scene with a lot of blood. But when she found his “body”, she didn’t panic, she kept calm and just started calling emergency. And he didn’t like that, he wanted drama, so he broke it off immediately and the rest of the video is just them arguing and him making excuses for himself.

I had 2 concussions when I was a kid and lost my memory both times. It was awful for my parents when I couldn't remember my name, my animal's name, or who my parents were. When they found me, I was passed out on the floor; they were terrified that I was dead or dying because they never experienced anything like this before. And to add to the fear, they didn't know how long it would take to retrieve my memories. To this day, I still suffer from those concussions because I had them when my brain was still growing. Losing your memory isn't funny. Making someone believe that their loved one isn't themselves and might not be themselves for who knows how long is traumatic. I know these pranks are probably fake, but it is so disrespectful to joke about this crap.
I also had two concussions as a child never list my memory but it is annoying seeing peoole make videos acting like it's nothing just to gain money from it truly disgusting
I hope that the little girl crying about her sister(?)'s brain injury is fake (as in, both girls were in on it), because that was actually really upsetting to watch.
They arent sisters but im sure it was fake because if it wasnt then that was really messed up, that's why i dont watch Piper Rockelle anymore because of ths stupid videos
Well judging by the fact that zero tears come out of her eyes, and then that everything they say and do in the video is obviously scripted, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume it's a fake video...
Can we give Drew some credit here, placing sponsorship ads at the end. I could be totally wrong but he’s probably taking in less for this nice gesture. 🙏
i highly doubt he's getting paid less for placing it at the end. his sponsor probably tells him where they want it, and he probably only accepts the ones that want it at the end
Lol I’m not surprised. None of these people have ever had memory loss, have probably only seen what it looks like on the media, and haven’t done any research to at least help them stage the video better
In Aussie terms I think it's cause they're owned by cashed-up bogans who think a McMansion that's furnished like a display home is aspirational goals bogan: an uncouth or unsophisticated person regarded as being of low social status. "some bogans yelled at us from their cars" You get the gist - and thanks, Oxford Languages :-)
Piper Rockelle’s video is even more upsetting in retrospect since all these allegations have come up about the parents being terrible to the kids behind the scenes
Well if they didn’t buy it would that mean those people WOULD be able afford one? Because you didn’t say there was none in stock, you said they can’t AFFORD one. So then what does someone buying 1 wheelchair effect in someone who can’t afford a wheelchair (and needs one)
@@ryan_69420 So you know them personally and that they donated it? 100%? Its not about the stock its just about the fact that theyre are people who NEED these that cant afford them, and are breaking the bank to get them, and these people are making a joke out of needing a wheelchair. its like if someone pretended to be homeless or something.

@5:10 just a reminder that people with invisible disabilities and chronic pain can and do shift between mobility aids and sometimes not using mobility aids and it doesn’t make them any less disabled!!!
I thought when the little boy said "remember our song" he meant like... when couples decide they have a favourite song and it's "theirs". not their actual song 😩
The fact that there’s kids doing some of this stuff is messed up and exploitative. Their parents shouldn’t be telling them to fake injuries, illnesses, or disabilities as if it’s funny or okay to make light of. And then you add on the fact that their audience is mostly children so you’re also promoting that behavior to them as well. Don’t get me started on the missing “pranks”.

I came here for the funny...but honestly, I'm just feeling an odd mix of sadness, anger, confusion, and helplessness. The fact that these people have such huge, loyal fanbases, that they're making money off of, for doing the lowest tier garbage is just so disheartening. I've seen some creators on here who are lucky to get into the 100k mark (either views or subs) for some genuinely funny and/or interesting videos. Then there's this; these staged, poorly acted, loud, lowest common denominator, throwing money around channels...and it just breaks my heart. Some people who are actually talented work so hard to get nowhere, and some even end up quitting, either because they can't make it, or they end up feeling like they can't compete with this nonsense. I'm just so tired and defeated.
yo i feel this 100%. its so upsetting to see these channels get so popular, like especially when they're normalizing and profitting off of such toxic stuff... ugh :(
@@aza5685 but that's the thing. something also concerning IS that their fan base is mostly kids. and since they're so young and impressionable, they might actually think pulling these kinds of pranks are okay. for example, for the "missing" or "kidnapped" pranks, these kids might actually try to do these and run off to god-knows-where for a small prank, which ends in their parents being worried sick and/or having the child have something actually bad happen to them while they're trying to act missing.
@@tristful_rain Then it is up to the parents to limit what their children are seeing, or telling them what they can or can't replicate off the internet. Older kids will have more of an understanding on things they can and can't do. Unlike younger viewers who should have supervision over what they are watching.
As shitty as these “pranks” are, I just want to say that the “walking into a medical supply store and leaving in a wheelchair” isn’t unrealistic. Not everyone who uses a wheelchair needs it all the time. I’ve used wheelchairs on and off over the years because of my congenital heart defect causing me to get out of breath really easily, and always got “wHy ArE yOu iN a WhEeLcHaiR iF yOu CaN wAlK?” questions as a kid, and it was deeply annoying
Like people with handicapped plates who have MS. They walk into the store fine and then by the time they leave maybe they're having debilitating pains or can't walk without assistance. And you can never know when it will strike
This is true! Also people with severe narcolepsy also sometimes need one because it's safer for when they fall asleep while out instead of falling over

A real prank is a prank that has Everyone laughing and happy, not someone crying or traumatized.
It is extremely insensitive to pretend to have lost your memory or be missing, and it's horrible to teach kids that that's normal.
A real prank also doesn't harrass random people and/or is illegal
I don't agree with these kinds of pranks at all but they're still real. They just suck
That’s what I thought, after you prank someone you all just joke about it
The like upper end of harmful 'pranks' is the classic letting three pigs loose named 1 2 and 4. Anything beyond that is just shitty.

I am very aware of my gaps in memory, and I, uh, don't just forget how to be a person
Lol I’m not surprised. None of these people have ever had memory loss, have probably only seen what it looks like on the media, and haven’t done any research to at least help them stage the video better
the real crime is why these rich peoples houses are so BORING
Honestly. Like, you have so much money, and you just wanna buy a generic mansion?
In Aussie terms I think it's cause they're owned by cashed-up bogans who think a McMansion that's furnished like a display home is aspirational goals
bogan: an uncouth or unsophisticated person regarded as being of low social status.
"some bogans yelled at us from their cars"
You get the gist - and thanks, Oxford Languages :-)
They all look the same! They're like what a 10 year old thinks a rich person's house is supposed to look like.

theres literally people who cant afford wheelchairs THEY NEED but then theres ppl who just buy one FoR jOkeS
Well if they didn’t buy it would that mean those people WOULD be able afford one? Because you didn’t say there was none in stock, you said they can’t AFFORD one. So then what does someone buying 1 wheelchair effect in someone who can’t afford a wheelchair (and needs one)
You know all of these people most likely returned it or donated it? No one would keep it after. They all 100% donated it
@@ryan_69420 So you know them personally and that they donated it? 100%?
Its not about the stock its just about the fact that theyre are people who NEED these that cant afford them, and are breaking the bank to get them, and these people are making a joke out of needing a wheelchair. its like if someone pretended to be homeless or something.
So
I hope they donated it, but they prob didn't

I thought when the little boy said "remember our song" he meant like... when couples decide they have a favourite song and it's "theirs". not their actual song 😩
Same
The fact that there’s kids doing some of this stuff is messed up and exploitative. Their parents shouldn’t be telling them to fake injuries, illnesses, or disabilities as if it’s funny or okay to make light of. And then you add on the fact that their audience is mostly children so you’re also promoting that behavior to them as well.
Don’t get me started on the missing “pranks”.
Yeah, i feel bad for the kids. They all seem so sweet :(
it's bc their moms is controlling them🙃 i've been watching them for years and every person who leaves them always tells abt how the mom's is controlling them. they all have to sign contracts and follow the rules and if u leave it's gonna be✨messy✨ as heck.
@@ThatRipOff I kinda understand continuing to watch out of concern. They have millions of views, one extra person watching isn’t going to make or break their popularity. I watch videos out of concern all the time. I try to watch only reuploads or commentary as much as possible though.

I'm just so tired and defeated.
yo i feel this 100%. its so upsetting to see these channels get so popular, like especially when they're normalizing and profitting off of such toxic stuff... ugh :(
You have to remember that most of their fan bases are kids

@@cheetoschrist5685 wait they're a couple? I thought they were siblings and when I saw this comment-
As shitty as these “pranks” are, I just want to say that the “walking into a medical supply store and leaving in a wheelchair” isn’t unrealistic.
Thanks for the insight
Agreed! And they could be buying the wheelchair for someone else and testing it out
Like people with handicapped plates who have MS. They walk into the store fine and then by the time they leave maybe they're having debilitating pains or can't walk without assistance. And you can never know when it will strike
This is true! Also people with severe narcolepsy also sometimes need one because it's safer for when they fall asleep while out instead of falling over
yup! not enough people know about ambulatory wheelchair users and it makes me nervous that people will get harassed or hazed because of it
