He "checks in with the M and the E". Peep YMH clip about people who are literally "too famous". I don't hate the guy, but he's an absolute blistering sun of idiocy.
Well a person's on screen persona and the actual person are two different things. Everyone puts up fronts for various reasons, basically it's a celebrity's main job to maintain a public persona that shows themselves in a favorable light. Never know who they really are unless you know them personally, aside from that you can only base your opinion of them on what you see, hear and read. For me, I have enjoyed a lot of the roles he has done. Can't say much for him as a person, seems alright enough from this and other interviews I've seen. Some commercials he had done though I think are incredibly pretentious, but I don't really hold it against him that much. Not everyone is going to like a person, no matter who they are
Matthew McConaughey picks up a wing and stares at it for a whole minute, looks up and replies: "Sometimes you gotta go back to actually move forward. I don't mean going back to reminisce or chase ghosts, I mean going back to see where you came from. Where you've been, how you got there, see where you're going. I know there are those who say you can't go back. Yes you can. Just have to look in the right place. These are some spicy wings"
Sean's greatest asset is his ability to adapt. In the first episodes, he played thr cocky card, he didn't ask great questions, and it didn't work so well. He then dropped the cockiness for the "brother next door" persona and dove deep into his research and asked better questions, and he tightened up his follow up questions to bring more out of the guest. Sean is now up there with the upper echelon interviewers like Graham Norton, Charlie Rose, etc. Sean deserves the best.

Fun fact: Matthew McConaughey is actually from the small town of Longview, Texas and graduated from Longview High School. Another fun fact: That’s where I’m from and I actually got to meet him 2 years ago at Longview High School’s graduation ceremony where he was the speaker. He is genuinely so nice and his family still lives here. He spent his time going around to his favorite local restaurants here and meeting people.
I've met him a number of times at various UT games. One of the most down to earth celebs you'll meet. I'd venture to bet... being a Texan has a little to do with that. ;-)
Another cool fact about Longview. I played in a band from Shreveport and I played with the guys in Myra Mains many times, a Longview band. Their guitarist Monte Pittman now plays guitar for Madonna.

This social distancing format SUCKS in alot of ways. But ............. there's a good chance that this twist opened up opportunities with some guests who may not have been easy to get an interview with. And comfortable in their own space. I can't wait for the original format to return, but I wouldn't boo an occasional guest doing it remotely in the future. I don't hate it like I thought I would.
It takes a lot of commitment for the guests though to receive the sauces, cook the wings, and set up the cameras...as opposed to just showing up. Appreciate that they did it!

Because it's about him. That's how Matthew has always been he's always been a little weird. Wasn't he losing his mind with Covid?
No kidding, one of my favorite part of these interviews is when the celebrities are impressed by his questions.
Bc he is so full of himself
King of interviews, Sean Evans.
Can't wait for Keanu's reaction when Sean tells him that he was the most requested guest on the show.
i hope keanuu never appears on this show after the previous guest. fucking digusting
@@LastbutNotFirst what was wrong with Naomi?
@@ZykoMetal linked to epstein dude. they are def deleting comments too.
Guys, what if he just doesn’t want to do it? 😂
Wait do you know something we don't? Is Keanu for sure going to do the show?
"Don't do fake drama, real drama's coming."
One thing! Just one thing! Please tell IT to me: WHY tf do I have so many fans even though no UA-camr is unprettier than I am? WORLDWIDE!!!! WHY??? Tell me, dear luisa
Don't quote videos in the video comment section--your life is meaningless.
I don't know why over half the population of the world struggles with this. Life is hard enough don't you think?
@@j.s.3414 I can see that you're the life of the party.
@@j.s.3414 I don't get that either! We get it, you watched the video just like the rest of us. Either expound on it or don't bother. Crazy thing is, those are usually the most liked comments 🤦♂️
He's such a good storyteller he makes any story fun/ interesting!
How can anyone hate this man? He seems like such a wordly, humble dude who'd just wanna go on a trip and drink some beers.
@East or West I suddenly realize they might be acting on this show to come of as a lovable person ... *MIND BLOWN*
He "checks in with the M and the E". Peep YMH clip about people who are literally "too famous". I don't hate the guy, but he's an absolute blistering sun of idiocy.
Alright alright alright
Well a person's on screen persona and the actual person are two different things. Everyone puts up fronts for various reasons, basically it's a celebrity's main job to maintain a public persona that shows themselves in a favorable light. Never know who they really are unless you know them personally, aside from that you can only base your opinion of them on what you see, hear and read.
For me, I have enjoyed a lot of the roles he has done. Can't say much for him as a person, seems alright enough from this and other interviews I've seen. Some commercials he had done though I think are incredibly pretentious, but I don't really hold it against him that much.
Not everyone is going to like a person, no matter who they are
My thoughts exactly Star Saga...Seriously, it's blasphemy. Lol
Matthew McConaughey picks up a wing and stares at it for a whole minute, looks up and replies:
"Sometimes you gotta go back to actually move forward. I don't mean going back to reminisce or chase ghosts, I mean going back to see where you came from. Where you've been, how you got there, see where you're going. I know there are those who say you can't go back. Yes you can. Just have to look in the right place.
These are some spicy wings"
Underrated comment right here folks! Nicely done my dude
I haven’t watched the video yet but that is definitely something Matthew McConaughey would say
Isn't this a quote from his book?
@@egberteil8462 It's a quote from one of his Lincoln car ads.
@@stringbeans7342 Thank you! I listened to some Greenlight snippets and he said it there, too.

For real I was thinking the same thing
Sean's greatest asset is his ability to adapt. In the first episodes, he played thr cocky card, he didn't ask great questions, and it didn't work so well. He then dropped the cockiness for the "brother next door" persona and dove deep into his research and asked better questions, and he tightened up his follow up questions to bring more out of the guest. Sean is now up there with the upper echelon interviewers like Graham Norton, Charlie Rose, etc. Sean deserves the best.
He just needs to learn to not cut his guests answers off early when he does in person interviews
LOVE Graham Norton!!!
Watched "how to lose a guy in 10 days" a million times and never gets old.
This man is so articulate with the way he speaks and carry’s himself. So likeable!
I absolutely love this man. Matthew is such a smooth, charismatic, and suave person. In his movies and in real life. Ya can’t help but like the guy. He’d be awesome to sit and bs with over some adult beverages!
And a shot
Matthew is a class act. What a great actor and down to earth human being. If I had a "Bucket List" of people I would want to party with he'd be at the top of the list.
I used to be a fan, after watching this im a WHOLE airconditioner
Lol. Great comment bruh.
Amazing comment.
Lol
This was hilarious... the first time I saw it...
Noice
I like how Sean takes care of his guests, warning them when things are about to get real hot. Just taking care of them. It's all positivity on this show. I dig it
Petition to put Ryan Reynolds on the show starts here.
Edit: Of course it has to be in person. Actually we should get a Ryan Reynolds episode and a Deadpool episode
Na id rather see blake lively
Chris Pratt... and... Anna Faris... In the same episode.
Oh heck yah
Titty
Only if it’s in person. Having him to the interview over Zoom would be an injustice to that man
I petition to get Denzel on the show. I'd like to see Sean open him up a bit.
YESSS
Pause lmfao
Matthew McConaughey and Jeff Goldblum should sit down and have an interview. Those two men are the most unbothered, unproblematic, dude-iest of dudes in the world
Jeff Goldblum chases after barely legal girls unfortunately. Not entirely unproblematic.
Agreed
@smylexx The Dude abides
and Devin the dude
Snatchural look someone isn’t a fan of Jeff and is now making up lies just because you are a nobody
I love that every time a guest has just had Da Bomb, Sean's got his question started and just none of em are ever listening hahahah
Yep! Unfortunate that question was one I was more interested to hear a serious answer to ....... but da bomb makes that impossible (usually)
I bought a bottle of Da Bomb for a friend that really like hot sauce and has seemed immune to some really hot sauces in the past. Da Bomb made him hate life. It’s that damn hot.
@@Darthbauer951 its not only that its so hot, it genuinely doesnt taste good lmao. It really does taste like its fucking bomb juice like i imagine that Chernoybls air right after the meltdown tastes like da bomb. Shit really is nuclear

I absolutely love Hot Ones!🔥 It brings out a side in the celebrities being interviewed that is so candid. We need more of that! Great job, First We Feast!!🎉
I always love it when the interviewees say “Oh that’s a great question!!!” Makes me proud of Sean
Sean always does a great job with these interviews.
I love how the seasoned actor and director sits with horrible backlighting. Lol.
😂😂
Right!? Lmao
it's different to just sit in a room well lighted before you arrived than doing it yourself without proper equipment or knowledge on how to do that.
Ikr? Like how hard it is to sit against the light?
@Thompson Klay chill mate
That’s what I love about Hot Ones, I keep getting older but the reactions stay the same age.
Matthew, you've been described (very accurately) as many positive things. I really think that your leadership ability and stewardship of positivity is very much needed in this world. Thank you for being a leader and great example to fatherless boys who need to know what a man is and does. You are respectful, and inspirational, and even though we have never met (and probably never will meet), I just want to say thank you. You rock!
This man is so warm, you can't help but smile when he smiles at the camera!
He genuinely seems like a wonderful human being. Someone you'd love to talk to over coffee and learn from.
“Why did you want to live as a jaguar?”
“Maybe think I was hanging out with Woody at the time?” That’s an all time answer to explain why anyone would say something a little out there.
I think he meant they were getting a bit mind altered if ya know what I means
Hopefully he will put in a good word and convince Woody to go on the show
Dood, the fucking "hee heee" after the eye wink got me rolling XD
@@dcomstock760 Yes, I know exactly that’s what he meant. I think everyone understood that after seeing the pictures of him and Woody “in the A.M.” as he put it.
He actually drooled. This is one of the funniest episodes! 🤣
Matthew McConaughey should really make a podcast one of these days. I feel like he has way too much wisdom to pass and we should hear him say it instead of read it
He's on joe rogan, check it out
My dear friend, it's called an audio book. And yes, he is the narrator. You're welcome.

Sean coming in with the interesting and well researched questions. As always, a wonderful host.

Damn McConaughey has been one of the best guests on the show, what a great interview, he's so wise, chill and responds so well to Sean. Would love to have seen them in the studio together
Sean: Careful around the eyes.
Matthew: Ooh-riiiight.
Nice that he took his time to answer all these questions in depth.
It’s the magic of Sean!! He has a great vibe and energy about him, that makes people feel comfortable, and asks questions that 99% of interviewers asks. 😊
Sean is one of the greatest interviewers on UA-cam, definitivily
Namaste'
When he performed as a human being after Katrina. Not only did he rescue people but took the shirt off his back as he rescued a man, giving that man his dignity back during a tragedy; showed great integrity/compassion. I'll forever love this man for being a genuinely loving human being. Respect 🙏🏽
Even when rescuing Matt gets the abs out...just joking

He really is a RomCom GENIUS. I dont think we talk enough about it or give him enough praise for that side of his acting career. He is a master of his craft.
Man after watching this I respect Matthew McConaughey way more such a cool guy with all this wisdom and really living life to the fullest. Freaking Inspirational!
He's so chill and cool. These interviews with celebrities are getting better and better. Keep up the good work
This social distancing format SUCKS in alot of ways.
It's really a shame they can't do it in person at the moment, it's not the same thing via video conference
It takes a lot of commitment for the guests though to receive the sauces, cook the wings, and set up the cameras...as opposed to just showing up. Appreciate that they did it!
It'll take a while for me to be comfortable with say 22:18 coughing near someone and drool, snot etc and the other stuff happening in person.
What a scam, like you can't sit six to eight feet away and eat f****** Wings, this is nothing more than selling out to the current political bullshit, but of course any Kick-Ass successful show like hot wings has to bow at the feet of their masters at some point. I work at a hospital and we still eat lunch together, (8 ft of course) but we don't f****** video chat our lunch.
Honestly, fair point.
Matthew is a beautiful person. Inside and out. So genuine. So proud to be a Texan !
