Question…after setting up, I can go into Xlights and under tools, look far the FPP? Then I just connect the Pi to my falcon controller to run the show?
Yes, next step would be to add in xLights, configure everything there for the PI and the Falcon, and then use upload outputs to send configuration to the devices
Hello, hopefully you see this. I have installed FPP through the raspberry pi imager, installed it on my RPI 3B, connected it to my router, got the IP of 192.168.1.38 BUT FPP does not show up on my WiFi list or listed as a device on my router. I can connect to the setup page by using HTTPS://FPP but not my using the listed IP address. The way I need to use this setup requires the Pi to be accessible by WiFi. Any help is appreciated.
If it got an IP then it was via wired connection, you would then need to do the network settings in FPP to connect Wifi. If the option isn't there then something is off with the wifi module

If I have a backup from last year on a different version of the fpp software and I update to the new version will I be able to put the backup back in? I tried booting the pi today and got hardware interrupt error. So I figured the drive is corrupt or the software is.
Very easy to follow. Thank you for putting this instructions for us.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I’m newish to using Raspberry Pi & FPP. This really helped me to setup my Raspberry.
Glad it helped!

Further more, I don’t have the option to choose between ETH and WLAN under the network options. Could there be an issue with my Pi’s WiFi module?

I have never tried this to find out. If I had an issue then I just start fresh and push configuration from xLights.
@justinzdesign yah this is what I ended up having to do. Drive seems to be ok.
Does this work on orange pi also?
I have heard it needs it's own compile, I have no direct experience with it though
