Thank you for posting this. Your teaching approach is very instructive and easy to follow. I have been frustrated since my Halloween show in getting FPP connect to sync my show, and your explanation about the "xLights Only" selection under Active box was the missing link to my successful show. I appreciate you taking the time to do these videos. Very informative.
Thank you very much. I kept catching myself saying multicast, instead of multisync when recording. I even put the title of the video as Multicast and just noticed it. LOL Gotta get out of the unicast and multicast days. :)
I just got a Falcon 16v5 to add to my show. I have a Kulp 8 with beagle bone. Are you saying because they are two different controler types i will have to get a raspberry pi? I was hoping just run the network cord to the falcon from the kulp.
This might require a larger discussion or it's own video, but my intent is to use a remote rpi (potentially several) strictly to output to a projector. Obviously, the media file being played needs to be copied to the pi connected to the projector with the correct virtual matrix assigned to it, but does it also have to exist on all other pis as well (master plus any other remotes) the same way the sequence file does? I'm looking to best optimize sd card usage.
The remotes only need to have the file that is playing on the remote. The caveat is that they need to be named the exact same as what is on the master.
Thanks for another informative tutorial. Would it be possible for you to make a step by step video on how to setup WLAN/Ethernet connections? The player will be connected to home router via WLAN, and then the player’s ETH and all the remotes ETH will be connected to a switch and will be using different subnet. Thanks.
Great video! My house set up is similar to yours. How would you recommend I set up the lights around the garage doors? I also have the lights wrapped around the garage edges like you do.
@@djizzy12 I use a PI as my show master that doesn't connect to any pixels. The PI multisyncs out to a few kulp controllers spread throughout my display.
I am not sure I understand your question completely. Multisync is more of a communication protocol than a file. Any file/sequence can be "multisynced" as long as the remotes have that file with the exact same name. FPP has a bunch of options on how to trigger the playing of a sequence/file.
I'm having a weird issue on a pi4, and it must be my router, but I can't figure it out. I get no ethernet lights on my pi, I do have a usb to ethernet adapter if I need to use that for my controller. Though the 6.2 update with the MAC address thing may fix it. I'll try that and report back
If their are no lights I would check the cable or the port on the router. No lights means no data. Just try to elimate or replace parts one by one. Lmk of 6.2 helps
@@mynameisneb I am happy to hop on a zoom call with ya later. I would try a different cable however. If it is happening to multiple PIs I would think it is upstream of the Pi.
I'm a newbie to this tech, and this was *by far* the best video I've seen about FPP multisync. Thank you!
Thank you! Hope it helped.
Great video showing how to set it all up with great info and details to watch for. Nicely done.

Thank you for this. Many of your videos has been my source of getting started in this hobby.
Thank you very much. Anything I can do to help make it easier.

Great info, solved my problem...thank you so much!!!!
Glad it helped!

How do you have the controllers connected with wiring? Do you use a multiple network box ?
Great information, thank you!
Glad you found this helpful

@@fppshorts Noted. Thanks!
pls make a video on how to connect led display or hmi to Falcon player so that we have buttons on hmi for starting the showing, changing songs etc.

That is a great suggestion and on my list of things to do.

For garage door outlines I screw 3D printed PVC mounts into the garage bucks that are painted cedar wood.
@@fppshorts good advice. But I was referring to the connection of the pixels. Did you use a separate FPP for that section?

Can you get FPP to play a multisync file using an OSC command to play/start the file on the master?
