RE Village's Baby monster was definitely the most horrifying moment for me in the RE franchise. While other jumpscares in the list can get some jump out of me, the baby is just a slumbering nightmare and just made my skin crawl for the whole section.
Same. I mean I have played EVERYTHING- but this....I mean I'm a woman of childbearing age and i absolutely terrified of birth (i have no kids rn) and I just...i had to walk away for days after that. Luckily im not afraid of dolls, so at least the follow up wasnt scary
@RYY1N because it’s in resident evil. Funny enough that’s something you’d usually probably see in the silent hill franchise . Capcom clearly got the idea from silent hill but silent hill is much scarier due to its lore and overall aesthetic and changing of environments minus the action segment being excluded giving a more dreadful realistic feeling.

I have this one over the Licker scare in RE2. You just feel good because you killed it (well, I did the 1st time, didn't know you could leave the room haha), then BAM, panic attack.
I threw my controller and yelled when that happen

You left out another Resident Evil 7 jump scare when Jack bust through the wall that moment scared the hell out of me. Great video by the way.

My friend was watching me play, knew it was coming, snuck off into the dark, and threw his cat onto my lap as the licker smashed through the mirror. I'll never forget that moment!
Yup! Seeing the fetus for the first time actually made my jaw drop and I yelled "WOOAAHH WTF IS THAT!!??" I play silent hill games alot but that monster truly scared me lol sheesh!

When you first go in the basement and you notice hiding places, you know you're in for some bullshit.
For me, the most perfect jumpscare on the franchise is the Cerberus jumping though the window on RE1 after the first zombies encounters thebtonenwas setted and when you first enters the east wing of the mansion and BOOM dog from hell. That moment are engraved on my mind ever since for over 23 years
Before I got to play it, my friends told me about that part and I've read it in video game magazines and it still scared me to the point where I dropped my controller on the floor
For me it was in RE4 when you're in that cage and U3 (or it) starts stalking and attacking you. Coupled with the creepiest music in the game.
Dog Window will always be number One for me, it was the first time a game every truly pulled a jump scare on me. I'll never forget playing this game for the first time, 15 years old, alone, in my room with the lights off. This was the first RE game, we hadn't ever had an experience like this, walking slowly down this silent, unassuming hallway and ...CRASH!!!! Watching it on video, especially a countdown, will never do it justice.
I do remember all of these great jump scares from the RE series, all of them did there job well and scared the crap out of me over the years, I do want to thank you for bringing back the many great moments in Resident Evil series SinglePlayerNacho, you really did an excellent job here ✌️
Im surprised that the RE4VR Hedge maze didn't get here. It scared me twice, in the same exact place. Those damn dogs.

Exactly! If there are jump scares all the time, then you become immune, inured and apathetic to the trauma they are supposed to engender. So many horror/survival horrors fail to grasp this simple concept. Less is more with jump scares.
This was another great RE video. That baby from 7 is what got me the most in he last couple years. I screamed. Yes.
Awesome video man. I would also add the werewolf from RE Village that jumps into the window when you are trying to read the code for the tractor jack. That is porbably the most murdered enemy in gaming history as everyone wants to get back at it for the jump scare.
I remember the re7 one with Marguerite, I screamed and my dad ran up the stairs cause he thought someone broken in 😂 I had to apologize to him for that

Also the jumpscare in Resident Evil 7 when you try to go through the crow door and Marquerite stops you 😂 literally the scariest jump scare in RE7

I thought that one jumpscare where you do the puzzle by looking out the window to line up the #s in re8 was really clever. Like i laughed afterward and said 'bravo, you trolls' lol

Re0 had a good jump scare when they introduced that first leech zombie. It's just sitting there without any kind of introduction.

That secret lycan window jumpscare in 8 made me pause the game to recollect myself 🤣. I didn't even yell, just jumped out of my skin then immediately facepalmed
I dont get scared much, but the burning plaga in the freezer at the kitchen in RE4 got me so hard.
More credit needs to be given to that Nemesis window scare. First off, as you return to the upstairs hallway with the statues, you hear a window shatter. The police station music goes away and a suspenseful tune plays instead. You go downstairs. All seems well. No broken window here. So you continue on. Then Nemesis bursts in. "Goodness!" you think. "That sure was surprising!" And then you see it. Nemesis looks a bit different. He's got a sort of tube or pipe attached to his arm. And I can only wonder if the fact that it's a rocket launcher registers before it can aim and fire.

Crimson heads will forever be it for me when I first played the remake on the GameCube I killed every zombie I seen then I met the first crimson head who rises when your on ur way to get the armor key and from there down I dreaded every room I've previously visited as I knew most those rooms I'd revisit had one waiting to rise up again n chase tf outta me
I forget which game it was in but the the jumpscare that got me as a kid was when the zombie attacked during the door transisition

Resident Evil 4: The Ganado in the Bathroom
When you enter Bitores Mendez House, there is a Bathroom near by the stairs.
As i entered the Bathroom for the first time, i didn´t noticed the Ganado who was inside.
9:00 played RE7 with my boyfriend and he said to me “she is gonna come now isn’t she?” I forgot sha came through this window so I answer him “noo not yet” and that same moment she bursts out and gives us both a mini heart attack 😂 good times!

I bought the RE 1 remake on my Ps4 last year. I knew about the Cerberus(cause i watched many playthroughs) jumpscare scare, but it still got me. I almost dropped my controller because I jumped so hard. Watching it was fine, but actually experiencing it first hand. Jesus christ
I agree about the crimson head one as well. I left two Zombies in that mirror hallway and when I went back later 2 crimson heads were waiting for me. I panicked so much.
Re4 Del Lago scare really got me as a child, I was about 8 and as soon as it happened I jumped so high in the air it wasn’t funny, and I sat on the couch looking at the you are dead screen for a solid 10 minutes trying to calm myself down
For me the RE1 window dog scene is literally the scariest thing ever in any game. I saw it as a kid, and it had stayed with me ever since then. It literally has given me PTSD of any dog enemy in any game lol. (Demon’s Souls, RE series, Silent Hill etc.)
I honestly think 3rd person games are way better at jump scares/tension building than FPS.
Also the first appearance of leech man gets me every time I go back to RE0.
I used to watch my dad play Resident Evil . First time he played Resident Evil 3 , the Nemesis window damn near gave me a heart attack .

Marguerite was the first to really get me in years, when in the greenhouse all stretched out and having "babies", that was a WTF? Moment for me
Haven't finished the video yet but for me that's always haunted my memories was when you see the first zombie (cutscene) on RE! Guess you can say it's not a jump scare haha! I've suffered a stroke and got memory loss n other things, even with that I still remember it perfectly!! 😵💫😵💫 I was super young when I saw it, I'm 27 now lol!
the biggest jumpscare for me was either the Mr. X busting through the prision cell in RE2 re make or the first Nemesis encounter in RE3 remake
The giant salamander in resident evil 4 if you go to the doc and shoot the lake enough times the Del Lago will jump scare you and you instantly die

Classic RE 2 with mr. x in the press room was by far the scariest jump scare for me and its crazy cuz its the only jump scare I have never seen anyone anywhere mention before. All I can say is if you play through the police station and constantly run pass him without killing him...Um don't go into the press room location. He straight up burst through the walls UNEXPECTEDLY and nearly gave me a heart attack! As a matter of fact he pops up frequently everywhere unexpectedly throughout the station if you don't kill him. Please try it!

1996 res evil 1 I was 9 years old you go in a room and a zombie jumps out of a closet. I swear for like 3 year I had to check my closet before bed every night
It was a cheap scare, but the worst RE scare for me is an easy one.
For some reason, dead birds make my skin crawl like nothing else. So the first time I played the intro of Village, where you have to walk through a flock of hanging dead crows with their faces bumping into the camera, I was on edge to say the least. But then, when the one that wasn't quite dead started flapping, I was actually grateful I'd lost my voice to the beer virus that night, since my scream was just a squeak. No joke, if I'd been healthy, it would've probably been loud enough to worry/annoy people in other apartments.
Re 2 licker running across the window was the jump scare that got me the licker jumping through the window was also a good one could say re 2 had a 2 in one jump scare
I still remember has a kid almost a teen I was "fishing" in RE4 and when Del Lago got me I just jumped and stared at the screen it was a great scare I still remember it in the PS2 version 😅🤣
I remember playing RE3 classic for the first time and got jumpscared by Nemesis while I was in the RPD. He managed to jump out from a window as I was walking downstairs, making me scream like a girl.

The re2 original the window zombies that would grab you is the no1 my most hated jumpscare
the first and second place i think belongs to re2 licker scene and re2 door zombies
The resident evil 4 jump scare of del lago is also a thropie u can get for ps4 version
The biggest jumpscare wasn't even from the game rather the night I got Re2 as a kid. I woke up and my parents had left to a party (yep left me all alone), the winds were blowing super hard, I had just had nightmares of zombies, I'm now walking around my empty house when the window blows open and I cried thinking there was going to be some window puppers.
The baby hands down, the most creepy thing I encountered in RE
I like the ooze a lot as enemies as they remind me a lot of the X-Files flatworm monster
1.Resident Evil 2 first licker got me, I was 10 back in 2000.
2.Dogs from Re 1 remake for gamecube. I was 12.
(Crimson had scared the crap out of me) burn or blow their heads off!
3. Nemesis from RE3 got me back when I was 11.
For the Resident Evil 4 one, it was only last year I only heard of it, and I replayed the game litterally 50 times. Never did I shoot the fish there, so sadly, that jumpscare is far too hidden for most people to enjoy :(
Honestly the scariest moment in RE history for me was RE0 with the zombie in the freezer on the train that burst out. Yes, even the baby thing from RE8. I dunno why everyone thinks that is so horrifying.
What about the giant frog 🐸 from RE Zero Remake? That thing scared me and pissed me off. Trying to operate the fork lift as Rebecca and that thing kills you almost every time.

I've only ever seen the movies (yes, I'm kinda pathetic like that) and Nemesis was fucking terrifying 😱 in fact, all the monsters scared me to death back when I first saw them 😢

Good list, but Del Lago is mutant salamander, not a fish. And REVII wasn't inspired by PT - they had already decided to make it first person. People did know to burn the bodies of zombies because a memo in the first save room tells you to.
Also, out of curiosity, why are a lot of your clips scaled down instead of full screen?
I really shitted my pants with the licker jumpscare in the RE2 remake. I didn't expected that at all. I was searching every room for anything I left behind and then a fucking licker decides to burst from a mirror out of nowhere. Definitely one of the best jumpscares in the whole RE franchise, but personally RE7 and 8 has one of the best ones so far, arguably due to the change of perspective and to anyone playing it at night with no lights on should be a traumatic experience.
