ALthough it would be easier to create the animation texture in full & then use After Effects for the shapes etc, learning how you would do it in blender does have value as the environment is a 3d workspace, that easily could be combined with more complicated 3d scenes. Thanks!
I used a grid with a lot of subdivisions and displaced it with a wave texture and animated the phase offset. With that you get these nice brighter and darker areas on the mesh!
This reminds me more of After Effect animations. very insightful stuff, thank you

hi how did u make the spherical animation in 0:17?
