Pastor Tim’s preaching has shown me truth and changed my life . His illustrations are just brilliant. Been listening to him for many years now. I took a trip to San Antonio to hear and meet him in person only to find out he was ministering across the pond. What a blessing he has been to me.😀

I have had this video saved for a couple years now. When I have found myself backsliden, in the miry clay, I remember this wonderful teaching about the Old Man. I am so thankful for this preacher who is confident in the inerrant word of God Almighty. I am thankful for Tim’s mind, vocabulary, ability to reason, and speaking abilities. Thankful to God.

I can tell you from experience what the old man versus the new man is. My old man was controlled by rage, and beat myself up over the smallest of mistakes. I was an absolute slave to women and a need for their validation in my life. I was insanely too nice to people, afraid of telling people off and standing up for myself. In Christ, all of that changed. I no longer needed a woman's body to validate myself. The rage I felt towards myself completely dissipated, and my confidence in dealing with my boundaries skyrockted. As I fell away from Christ, my hatred for myself returned. My need for women returned, and my confidence drained yet again.

Powerful message! I’ve started documenting my dad’s texts that he sends me. He sends them during his time with the Lord. I call them soul nourishment. Usually about 3 minutes long. Help get you focused on the Lord for the day.

Fasting helps discipline which will empower you to put off things of the old man. I am learning this. Fasting only water.

Remember that Jesus looked at you and said “I’d rather have you in Heaven. I don’t want you to have no hope, I want you with me.” And he died to make it so you would have hope.

Since you as a Christian always have the authority to put off the old man, then will the Christian be more accountable for sinning than the sinner whose sin wasn't crucified with Christ?

How does one put away pride? (It is easy enough to put away acting out on pride, but how to put away pride itself?). This would be a fine sermon if the preacher would tell us how. Telling yourself over and over that it is not who you are doesn't seem to work that well in practice. On the other hand, prayer has helped greatly. Yes, we have the Spirit and we have strength, but shouldn't we keep asking for more of Him? (after all, the Lord Himself said that if we being evil give good things to our children, the Father will surely give the Spirit to those who ask Him?)

I don't feel qualified to even answer this question but I'll tell you what the Lord has been teaching me over the past year or so.
The secret to putting away all sin is to walk in the Spirit. "Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh."
I have come to believe that if we yield ourselves to God, realising that we have no power to overcome our own wicked flesh, He is obligated by promise to give us the strength to overcome all sin. By "yield ourselves to God" I simply mean that we must understand that we can of ourselves do absolutely nothing. We must come to realise that God has promised to keep us at every moment, and if we simply believe His promise He will keep us from falling.
When we learn to walk in the Spirit then we will do everything in the Spirit. We will pray in the Spirit, we will read in the Spirit, we will be able to truly love people as we ought to. When we walk in the Spirit it is impossible to bring forth the works of the flesh. We must learn moment by moment to surrender ourselves to Him. We must believe that we have the almighty power of an almighty God inside of us. He doesn't intend for us to struggle in our own strength, but to live in victory through His.
I would recommend the book Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray. It has helped me start to understand and walk in these truths. Also his book Abide In Christ has also been a huge help.
      God bless

Hello brother, you have to believe deep down and not telling yourself over and over . You have to believe that the person you used to be was crucified with Christ. he is dead with Christ. And when he rose from the grave, you too were also rose and became a new creation. So after you has to know who you are now in Christ by reading the bible and asking the Lord to open your eyes to see the new person that you are now in Him. Then you have to Believe it! this is renewing your mind and put on the new man . it is like you used to eat with right hand and now you have to eat with the left hand . it takes practice. And when the flesh send you for example the desire to be prideful or thought on it, because you know who you are now, you dont have to obey (rom6.12-13 ; rom 12.12-13)
Read the Book of Romans chapter 6 to 8 /Ephesians and Colossians etc because there is more to know about it ! and seek the Lord about it with all your heart ! It takes time , it depends the time you put on it! but He is faithful! It will change your Life !! It happened for me and hope you too! God bless you in Jesus Christ

The means of grace brother! Prayer, Reading Scripture, Fellowshipping with Saints, Congregating with saints. We must grow in godliness with these, and by this we kill the desires of the flesh.

Tim Conway: “”You know one of the things that the missionaries over in Turkey told me is that You see these nominal Muslims. Turkey is vastly populated by nominal Muslims, very ffew of them are radical. And what the missionaries over there pointed out is you know most Muslims get serious about religion when they are old, you think about why that would be. You know why it is? Their conscious is telling them something is wrong, now they maybe deceived about who the real god is, and who the real prophet is, but the fact is they have a conscious that’s telling them “you are in trouble”, and now when they get older they make sure they go to prayer all the time , man never think to go there””, Let me say something to those who want to be saved TRULY. Tim Conway perfectly aware as a pastor of a Christian Genocide committed against mostly Armenians says something like this. If you want to go to HEAVEN that is not your pastor and post it everywhere and to the knowledge of his followers tell them that the historical fact is acknowledged and recognized by 50 states as far as US politics is concerned. Sorry for all those who were not saved truly following this politician. The Gate is narrow indeed

Since the old man (our old identity in Adam) was crucified and eradicated in Christ, it’s interesting to me that Paul didn’t say, put off the Flesh. The flesh is the old habit patterns (old way of living independently of Christ) the power of sin works through in the members of our body to wage war in our minds to deceive the new man (Roms 7). The Flesh is not the old man, but is the sinful ways (thinking, feeling, behaving) which derived from being the old man. I guess he was just comparing the way the old man lived to how the new man lives. It’s all about conduct and not identity here.

No.... if you're born of the Spirit, you are a Christian.
And if you respond to the Lord's commandments, he works in you unto keeping them, and you grow in his grace.
