- We are on spring break, so one of the trips we took was to the coast to do some fishing. Sand shrimp can be really expensive if you like to fish them in the bays or for salmon, steelhead, or sturgeon so when we can we try to get our own. Here's a video of how we generally pump them and rig them for fishing in the bay. We got showed up big time by another guy and his son, it was pretty funny. You can make your own gun out of PVC or you can generally buy one for around $20. Mine was home made. Hope you enjoy!
Thank you dude!!! Great video. Answered my shrimp pumping questions perfectly!!
Glad you found it helpful. Good luck out there.
That homemade hand pump is genius!
That Murder Inc. - Thanks. U can buy them also but not as rewarding
Awesome. I wish I lived closer to the coast so I could take advantage of this before fishing the coastal rivers in the mornings.
Me too. It’s a lot cheaper that way, but some times the tides don’t work out.
Its always nice to catch your own bait...a lot cheaper. I try to use my cast net for bait when I can.
1Cast 1Fish - Nice! Not only is it cheaper, it seems to always feel a little more rewarding too!
Goshrimp I'm California best bait you can get has to be live catching bass Perch halibut all across the board muscly really good to but live it beats out achovy smelt squid but if you want halibut smelt works really good but I'm telling you goshrimp is my #1 go to live tho great video
Sand shrimps are expensive. I like to pump it myself as well but it's a lot of work. 😂
MooMoo Outdoors - they are expensive here too. Some areas we are able to pump 10 dozen in 30 minutes, other areas it takes a lot more work. Just depends on how much extra time we have whether we buy or pump.
Great video! I have been to Tillamook Bay couple times, but cannot find a spot to park the car and get down to the muddy place and the rocky part for fishing. Could you give some hint about where to find the place?
Hobsonville point on a low tide 👍
@@NorthwestOpenSeason I will try there, thanks! :)
So what tips did they share with you?
This was awhile ago, but they were pretty insistent that you need to wade out farther. I’m not crazy about getting out that deep in the sand and getting my feet stuck 😂
Today I got 44 sand shrimps! Wondering how to sell them, and how much they cost if you were to sell it
I don’t know anything about selling sandshrimp. They cost about $5/dozen in the store
@@NorthwestOpenSeason sounds good! I can probably can get some summer bucks from that 😂 thanks btw
Which area exactly did you go to pump the sandshrimp?
That was TIllamook bay near Hobsonville point
you should've offered them a fish for their hard work, giving you so many of those shrimps, no to appear in your youtybe channel. Just saying
