I have about six boxes of the Winchesters like yours. They do shoot very well in this platform. I just started reloading 165 FTX Hornady bullets with a lower powder amount and they are also working well without high-pressure signs.
Nice video thank you for sharing! I've shooting a Winchester XPR. I'm using 24.5 grains of lil gun and getting 2400 to 2500 ft per second with 170 grain bullets depending on seating depth and bullet style. My size but do not crimp I have crimped and it gives me erratic results
I do not crimp either, you get the advantage of a much longer barrel and better velocities. My buddy was at a gun shop the other day and picked up a Winchester. He was very impressed. I might have to upgrade.
i only wished they stayed together better, the separate quickly, my 170 hor sp bullets mushroom nicely and do not separate. I get good through penetration on deer with them also.
I have the same bullets and H110. Dies are ordered. Any tips, suggestions, cautions on loading the 350 Legend? I have new Starline and once-fired Winchester and Federal brass.
I have been shooting the 140 FTX bullet for over 10 years in my 357 max. The max and the 350 legend have essentially the same reloading data. I use 26.5 g of H110 for the 140 grain bullet when my Mgm barrel was brand new they would accept the barrel at 2650 ft./s. But after several thousand rounds. It’s more like 2500 now.
@@MrBirdman123 As you can see, I hand load all of my own rounds and I’m shooting a standard ranch rifle. Unless you have a chronograph, a shooter never knows what he has. Just yesterday I went out with a friend who is going out west elk hunting and he read off the box that his factory bullets had a certain velocity. When we shot it they were 100 ft./s off and lower. As far as I’m concerned, chronograph is a necessary tool for shooting. I had no pressure signs on any of those rounds that I shot add I think I put a disclaimer inIn the video to load at your own risk, all of those loads were latter incremental experiments till I became happy with the load. I certainly do not overload rounds and I don’t need to blow up a gun. Straight walled cartridges are extremely efficient. I hope you enjoy the video.
Great shooting. I just got this upper for my AR. And I'm very impressed with its performance out of my AR .
I’ve been using the 180 grain Winchester with great success, two for two on hogs so far .

Thanks for the info, Doug. Good stuff.

nice stuff, love the 165 ftx rounds ive loaded up

I load the 350 just like any other rifle. I do not crimp them at all. The surface tension on the bullet to the case is quite high anyway.
@@57dewey Thank you.
Really like your vid.
Thank you very much, I really enjoy the engineering portion of reloading. When I retire, I’ll probably do more videos.
Hello, did you have to do any modifications to the magazine to let it feed well?
Not a bit, I use see products magazines.
They're calling them 'Spearpoints' now?
I use 165ftx with 30.5 grains of accurate 1680 velocity is 2240fps from a 16 inch ar barrel no pressure signs
Any problems with the thin brass?
None whatsoever.
i got some 140s on sale, not much data o them!
26.5 gr of h110 works good for me. same as my 357 max

@@57dewey my load was spicy, ill double check. it filled the case and left primer pockets loose after one loading
What length barrel are you using?
My rifle is a Ruger American ranch, it has a 16 1/2 inch barrel.
@@57dewey You are getting faster velocity with the legend than with the maximum?
@@MrBirdman123 hard to say since the max has a 22 inch barrel vs 16 and i am shooting a 140 grain bullet in the max and heavier for the legend
@@57dewey your velocities do not make sense. You are getting insane velocities out of the legend with a short barrel, far greater than believable
