Wow this is absolutely stunning and masterful work. I love how it takes the idea of big maps from the SMB Deluxe extra levels and completely runs with that idea while making surreal, mesmerizing stages and an incredibly unique atmosphere. I also love how some levels have this feel of being almost out of grand 3D platformer like Super Mario Galaxy, and some really interesting mechanics and cinematics within the levels (the satellite exploding in World 3 blew my mind) This feels like what SMB3 would've been and even better than that. This is really above and beyond for a fan mod and it's absolutely incredible to see.
I really love how well the levels and design are i really love this pack, and the bouncy jump that all levels have feels like something i would have probably did if i would create levels, nice job nambo
Hey Nambo, im not an elite player by any means. Thanks for making this level set accessible. Im on stage 3-6. I primarily play deluxe on xbox. This has been an incredible experience so far. I havent watched most of this video because i dont want the levels spoiled. the difficulty curve has been appropriate. Thanks for everything you do
I'm 4 worlds in right now and this pack's quality is in a league of its own! Honestly, if you show anything here (other than the Stage Select theme) to a non-SMB fan, I'm sure they'd believe this was an official game! This hack truly feels like what a Super Monkey Ball 3 could have looked like if they decided to go with the BIG stages gimmick! Amazing work!
At first, I did not know how to feel about the level design because I didn't think it was as practical as the original game, which I prefer. Then I watch the video more and more, and I TOTALLY fell in love with it! One of the most relaxing level designs I've seen. Thank you so much for making! :)
Absolutely gorgeous visuals! Especially World 7 with the Persona style background and the setpieces having thick black outlines. I also loved the amount of creativity put into the World 5 and 6 stages, and the levels referencing Super Meat Boy and Super Mario Galaxy in World 9 were cute and clever. Though I have to criticize the wildly inconsistent difficulty ratings. While I do feel like they were probably rated based on a bell curve there are some that feel like they don't match up, most notably Nanobot Invasion in World 9 having a 1/10 difficulty rating despite it having some of the skinniest platforms in the pack.
The banana ratings that show on the story select screen are actually for banana density, not difficulty. I didnt wanna even attempt to difficulty-compare the stages to each other, so I decided it’d be fun to show a different stat there!
You really cooked with this one man. This hack showcases how crazy the Monkey Ball 2 physics engine really is when pushed to it's absolute limit. Every level was so creative and there were almost no stages I disliked. The achievement system and galactic log were also a fantastic incentive to push beyond just beating the stage and test my abilities, and Interstellar mode is a fantastic reward for completing the game that I won't spoil. I found it more fun than the traditional insane kaizo gauntlet that other big hacks have done for the secret stages. What I like most about Stardust is that it's something totally unique, totally unlike what I've seen in other Monkey Ball hacks, but at the same time it feels like someone took the moments of Monkey Ball hacks I love the most and made a whole game out of it. A lot of hacks focus on testing your precision a-la Monkey Ball 1, but this hack instead tests your ability to use the stage's gimmicks to your advantage a-la Monkey Ball 2. In addition, however, it also asks you to build and maintain massive amounts of speed, and then redirect that speed towards the goal all while being bounced around like a pinball. Other levels in other hacks (and the original games) have explored this idea, and I always loved these high-speed stages and wished there were more of them. Stardust gives me a whole game of those thrilling stages and I couldn't be happier about it. Even still, Stardust takes it to new heights with it's unique open-ended level design and the sheer size of the environments, giving Stardust a unique identity of it's own. It feels like a genuine evolution of Monkey Ball level design rather than just rearrangements of existing concepts. I also have to shout out the trippy aesthetics, they are such a nice backdrop to the experience. Overall, I learned a lot about the physics of Monkey Ball 2 from playing this and I feel I improved my skills as well. Thank you for making this, I freaking loved it. I really hope that other Monkey Ball fans do not overlook this game, I consider it a must-play, and the closest thing to a Monkey Ball 3 we've ever gotten. If you only play one Monkey Ball hack, make it this one.
Nope! Not watching the video! I've been so excited for this to come out!! Good job on getting it released! I'm gonna download and play it now! And if'n I remember, I'll come back to this comment to share my thoughts. Aaaagh! Excite! :)
How have you made a good level pack with levels that destroy you mentally. like wtf is Worlds 8-10 also stuck on 10-9 now. but anyways, thx for making this awesome level pack and I LOVE the level designs and ideas. (still, though wtf are some of these levels)
What are those surfaces that force you to jump, when you touch them? I don't remember those existing in Super Monkey Ball 2, but I feel like I've seen them in several custom map packs
The community tends to call those “bouncepads,” and theyre a totally custom mechanic that’s made by making a platform with a vertical conveyer value! (or whatever direction points up from the bouncepad surface). The result is a trampoline of sorts which gets stronger as u use a stronger vertical conveyer :D
Challenge mode has a couple “Bonus Modes” that are explained a bit in the Galactic Log (which takes the place of the how to play menu), you have to unlock them to access them. Though, the main content of the pack is in Story Mode.
@@namb0 Well, okay. I appreciate you giving players the freedom to mess on the stage but if I remember correctly the goal of Super Monkey Ball is to get to the goal as quickly as possible. I also really like Super Monkey Ball Launch by Dyrude. I think it might be one of my favorite SMB2 hacks (I am such a sucker for Monkey Ball hacks).

It's crazy to see how many levels have changed in 7 months.

That explains why Pan Pipes has a 10.
Not a bad idea!
What is banana density?
@@Nightmare-wx3ei the amount of bananas in a stage
Super monkey ball players are some of the best stage designers I currently know rn

Awesome levels, so many creative ideas and gimmicks. Really nice work!
Excited to play this!! Looks incredible
Once you see the cursor at the bottom, you can’t unsee it. I like the pack though
World 1: OST relaxing
World 2: Good
World 8: Amazing OST
World 10: Beautiful ost
This all looks so good Nambo!

its funny listening to these chill lofi beats while hearing "YA" "OKIE- YAA YAA YAA"
World 8 is in it's own league in both visuals and level design
hey nambo how many marshmallows do you think you could eat before you get sick
All of them

Best monkey ball hack I've ever played. Thank you.
Good levels, but I find them very repetitive, everything reduces to bouncing and teleporting

It's all about controlled momentum. Nambo must be a fan of Marble Blast custom levels.
Is the music all custom made?
Yes! It was composed by Walkr and Relayer, the full playlist can be found here:

I am now extremely intimidated by _Monkey Ball_ ROM hackers. And I thought _Gaiden_ was a spectacle and a half. *_Wow._*
is challenge mode available in this mod? i booted it up and i see that it's crossed out like you aren't allowed to play it.

you can play as meemee story mode already peak
Trampoline park.
These graphics... man. 🤯
I love these levels, especially the backgrounds, don't get me wrong, but I feel that the time limit is WAY too generous on so many of the levels.
I put very generous time limits cuz i like having the opportunity to mess around on stages :]
