Very interesting and detailed video. I just bought a Favre-Leuba Twin Power, cal. FL 259. Very cool little watch. I can't wait to spend some time with it. Best regards, Brian
Walk away and give yourself 5 minutes is the best advice in watchmaking. Great video! I have just recorded a video on this exact movement! I did not see yours; if I had, I'd have skipped on to the next one in the pile. Hopefully you don't mind me covering the same ground. If you want a strap to use on one of your videos, give me a shout, and I'll send you one, on me! My info is on my channel page - All the best, Dave
Dave that is an honour 😁 I would love one of your straps but I’ll pay my friend and it will defiantly get a showcase on a video. That being said I know how busy you’ve been so only when you have the time. I’ll message you later in the week if that’s ok 😁 and of course I don’t mind you covering that movement mate 😁 I can’t wait to see it 👍👍👍 thanks again my friend and chat soon 😃
Thinking of starting to learn to service/repair/restore watches.. seems relaxing.. Is the best place t'internet for buying tools etc?..doubt Birmingham has a watch tool supermarket..😊.
Hahaha Birmingham is almost definitely a place where tools and the like can be purchased but probably going to cost a penny or two 🤣🤣 interwebs will be your friend cousins.co.uk is a good site for new stuff and then there eBay for everything else. There are some links in the 99p video for cheap tools. That’s what got me started. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment it’s really appreciated 😁👍👍
Great video and a lovely watch. What kind of power reserve does it have? I've never really looked at Favre Leuba watches before, but I think I'll have to start now.
Great video! Thank so much for sharing your knowledge. I just bought one of these and I’m gonna follow your instructions. I don’t have any cleaner though what you suggest as a starter? Also, can you provide information about the replacement barrel?
Hi my friend thanks for watching. When I started i used naphtha otherwise known as lighter fluid for petroleum lighters. You could also use isopropyl alcohol but you can’t clean the balance and pallet fork in alcohol. Also de-ionised water and some gentle detergent then rinse in clean water and dry straight away. Hope that helps 😁👍👍👍
@@HorologyHubub thank you so much! Appreciate it a lot! Just one more question, may you share the detail about the main spring replacement like if you have link or what model you used?
The diel of this watch kind of resemble your channel logo because of its color. I haven't watched your video yet, but I bet you will admit you picked up this watch because of its color 😂.
That dial....Just love that colour😍
It is beautiful 😁 thanks for watching my friend. 👍👍
