- Couple weeks ago Karolina Protsenko got a new bow as present from one of her fans. She brought her new bow to her violin lesson and Karolina's violin teacher Mr. Sam Fischer tested the bow on her violin.

Sir Sam Fischer is really an Expert ... He is the one who bought up the talent hidden into Karolina ... A bow greatly influences our sound quality and ease of bowing . Its good that you ask your teacher Mr. Sam Fischer when ever you feel your body is in pain playing or holding the bow cause it could be you are just playing the violin to many hours? Perhaps you can place a rubber cover over your thumb for protection so that ever is causing the thumb pain will go way eventually, until you get use to holding the rod the way he showed you. You may find a thumb cover in your mother sowing kit if she has one! I think the violin is one hardest instruments to maintain and play but you have it mastered. I'm sure Sam is very proud of you too and happy to be your instructor as you are to have him train you! I notice the sharper tone of your blue bow too! I think Sam implied its use is probably better for classical music than the other one? Who knew that a bow can be so important...Sam does! LOL

Watching your three street videos again using your new bow, maybe it's just your skill (no surprise there!), but you controlled the bounce incredibly well, even in the spiccato. Your chopping was as musical as any I have ever seen.👌👌

One of the pieces your teacher played while testing your bow was the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major Op 35. A piece that many of my friends have played. It's one of the most well known violin concertos in music history and really hard to play. I believe you will play this piece very soon.

The weight and structure of the bow makes huge difference. If the bow is lousy, it will increase the effort to produce a spiccato or fortissimo.
