'If you'll pardon the expression' is the phrase that springs most readily to mind here. This is priceless stuff - can we have some more Unsworth senior please? What a guy. Sithi soon I hope, Dave.
Thanks for the tip for lid trimming. I can see the family resemblance with your Dad. Can you tell us how your Dad got into pottery? He's a natural for video. Great editing by the way.
I love your videos! This was such a treat--not only to see the process, but the line of pots in process. Also, and seriously, your Dad is a great teacher and fun to watch. More of both of you, please!!
You can certainly see that you've made hundreds of teapots in your time, great video and I picked up a few tips. Thanks for sharing this `Dan's Dad` ;) :)
both the pot and this video are so beautiful! your experience shows, I don't know a thing about pottery so I was so amazed when you made the lid so quick
Such an excellent teacher. Thank you for the different view (and different voice) on creating. It's good to see how you, Sr and Jr, move and work, because the kinetics of your movement help me try to move that way, and my pots turn out better because of it.
we love watching your videos with kiddos! you are so talented and we appreciate you showing us how to make amazing teapots - we hope one day to be half as talented as you are!
Thank you very much for such a detailed demonstration. I love watching the videos you two have put out, then go to my little studio and see what I can do. I've come a long way thanks to the guidance of your videos.
right when i started this video i noticed your hands, i felt bad for what you had to go through considering youre missing one, but then again, youve gotten through life with it, and you still have the talent like this, not even worrying about your so called 'disability'. dont let anybody bring you down for that. youre amazing
I love the lids. I started making that same style for my cookie jars after watching your video a while back. I may have to try one of these tea pots. Thanks for sharing.
This was absolutely fascinating! As a kid my aunt was a potter, and as a youth my late husband's mum potted also... yet I never asked either to teach me, or even to let me watch them work! Looking back I can't figure out why! I love good pottery. Now I'm middle aged & wish I knew whether or not I have any potential- hate to invest in the equipment & have it not turn out. I think I will watch a bunch of your vids and get a feel for whether I really want this. Maybe it's like with music: I'm just destined to be a fan, not necessarily a creator myself. I'm sure glad I live in the age of UA-cam so I can access how-to videos on any subject that appeals to me! It takes the place of long-lost elders. Who says the internet encourages people to be loners? To me, it makes me feel connected to my fellow man like never before.
I LOVED this video, especially the way you pulled the handles. Also, I've had so much trouble with the gallery/lids so your demonstration and explanations were fantastic. I'm definitely saving this video for future reference. Great camera work !
You both make it look so easy! Can't wait until I'm at that point. Although I'm guessing I have at least 10 more years of practice to get through first.
Just watched this back again with my wife and noticed you have developed an unusual technique by throwing anti-clockwise yet leading with your left hand. I am left handed and throw clockwise and have tried throwing anticlockwise but I just can't. Brilliant.
seeing your vids i thought this was easy a week later in my ceramics class we had a project making a bowl and a cup easy right wrong i failed many times and took me an hour to make the bowl and it was small your are really talented
Fascinating to watch, thanks for posting. One query, I notice you don't fix a 'tab' on the inside of the lid to prevent it coming adrift whilst pouring. Is there any reason you choose to omit this?
can you please please please upload what these look like when glazed. most of your videos don't show the glazed product which in my opinion is the most beautiful stage.
I agree, at first I thought he had his hand inside the clay starting to mold it, but soon realized as well that he was missing a hand. I was already impressed to see how this man makes it look so easy, and then more for the beautiful pots and art he creates. My respects to this Sir.
Bravo. Your teapots are beautiful. I'm a tea drinker not a potter so I am very fussy about my selection of pots. The hole you put in the pot cover is essential to pouring without having to tilt the top. I also prefer just an opening for the tea to escape as the perforated area can get plugged with tea leaves causing the pourer to have to swirl the pot or more annoying lift the cover and stir to release the tea "dam". Thanks, I enjoyed your video. 1926lady
How to make a teapot with the least possible palaver! Clear as day. What I most want to know now is - did you say plastic bats? How are they attached to the wheel head? Thanks for all your Ingleton videos, I've found them a great help.
In the near future you could use a robothand controlled via your brain ? Not that you need this ;) Perfect controll .nice to see.Pottery is there to stay .People have to re- learn to produce their own goods.Grtz Belgium
I love your no nonsense approach to pottery...this is for the advanced potter to hone his/her skill. Thank you.
'Been doing it for 50 years' Trust me, it shows :-) Lovely teapot and great skill.
What a family! Oh my! Gorgeous teapots, awesome father, amazing potters. I love your videos!
What a treat to get to see your Dad make something, beautiful teapot! :)
i know I am quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to watch newly released movies online ?
@Callan Kellan Try Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)

i love to watch something beautiful being made from a lump of clay. it's so satisfying to watch it take form.
Thanks for the tip for lid trimming. I can see the family resemblance with your Dad. Can you tell us how your Dad got into pottery? He's a natural for video. Great editing by the way.
Wonderful! Love watching your Dad. He's such a skilled craftsman and artist! Thanks for posting this video. Beautiful work!
I love your videos! This was such a treat--not only to see the process, but the line of pots in process. Also, and seriously, your Dad is a great teacher and fun to watch. More of both of you, please!!

Love your teapot, I also love your piggy bank video. I have it saved in my favorites. Your work is beautiful.
Beautifully done, those handles just appeared like magic.

I LOVED this video, especially the way you pulled the handles. Also, I've had so much trouble with the gallery/lids so your demonstration and explanations were fantastic. I'm definitely saving this video for future reference. Great camera work !

Fabulous teapot, excellent tutorial, thank you very much. Can you tell me what the batts you use are made of please, and where I can get some?
resin, he made them himself ~ He has a video on his Bats :)
Wow so talented
It took me almost a full minute before I realized he did, in fact, lack a hand. That being said, beautiful pottery work haha

Thank you Sir. I really like the lid. Will try to make some like that. Is there a secret to getting the spout right so it does not drip? Thanks again
