What a film. A lesson for not betting
Marie Windsor was the perfect "femme fatale". I also liked her role in the movie "The Killing" directed by Stanley Kubrick.
Also superb in "The Narrow Margin" (1952 - dir.: Richard Fleischer).

What an awesome movie! It's got some corniness, but it got pretty hairy as things got worse and worse for him. I love movies where the protagonist does horrible stuff
Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer wasn't expecting to see him, tragic life for him unfortunately. I've looked him up a few times over the years but somehow missed that he had one child. He unfortunately died 8 years after this movie was released.

@@ledenhimeganidleshitz144 I checked the cast credits, Lucy was definitely not in the movie, Barbara Billingsley played the role of his secretary. Not a big deal just happened to notice it and got curious.

A guy flies all the way to bet $1,000 on a horse, but he doesn't even buy his own program. Instead he trusts a couple of drunks to tell him what number his horse is. Really?

What a bore this film is so far. Eleven minutes into the film and they are still talking about horses! Where is Marie Windsor? So far this movie is about a bunch of aging actors talking about horse betting. And then they start square dancing? I would have walked out of the movie by now.
