Great video. I have the 525L and it works great for residential. Best string trimmer I have owned. Everything you mentioned for the LS appears to apply to the L except the spark plug cover on the L does not have a screw.
Josh, I really enjoy your videos. I'm seriously considering buying one of these 525ls mark II trimmers. I currently have a 525lst mark II. You mentioned the gear ratio on the 525ls being slightly different from the 525l in one of your responses to comments on this video. I find the lst to be great when in thick heavy grass, but it seems to be geared too low for normal trimming. I do part time commercial mowing, and just about all of our local mowing crews use the 525lst without the guard. This enables running a longer line without bogging. Husqvarna is very vague in their specs on the gear ratios on these two trimmers. Do you know the specific gearbox ratio of each 525, ls and lst? According to their website, the 525lst mark II ratio is 23, and the 525ls mark II ratio is 13. Those numbers mean absolutely nothing to me as far as a gear ratio is concerned. Thanks
@@TheWaterboy452 the LST is going to be torque for the heavier grass cutting the LS is going to be a higher speed so traditionally going to give you a little bit finer cut on a lawn
@@carlsmowerandsaw Yes, i am very familiar with the 525lst, and 525lst mark II. They work great cutting thick overgrown areas with the lower gear ratio gear box with the guard installed. They also work great doing normal trimming on lawns, but with the guard removed, running a bit longer line. I'm not a fan of the lst with the guard on doing normal trimming. High engine speed, but slow line speed. What i really want to know is what is the actual gear ratio of the 525ls mark II and the 525lst mark II.
No, I have a Husqvarna 122C & a Weedeater Featherlite FL20. I always mix my own ethanol free with 2 cycle marine oil and mix it 40:1, as I like to have it richer with oil for more protection. Only difference between the 2 stroke oil and marine oil is that regular 2 stroke oil is the ash content. Learned this from a fuel engineer. Cheers from eastern TN
@@harryerhart5978 My 525lst mark II i bought last fall seemed a bit underpowered too. I took it to my dealer and had the carburetor adjusted. I runs much stronger now. I'm pretty sure it was running too lean. Probably getting broken in now too. You might need to get yours adjusted.
@@carlsmowerandsaw I got tired of cranking on my Echo SRM 225, my shoulder was hurting, so I purchased a Maruyama 230 model, in 2 months we will not be able to purchase anymore small engines in Ca. Husky 525 was on my radar, but for a small yard probably overkill.
Eye protection is a must, ever time you use a trimmer, but as far as your hearing goes, you should have thought of plugs or ear muffs a long time ago.😅 your just kidding yourself it's going to help now😂😊.

Very similar. There’s a little larger cut diameter. About 10% more horse power, slightly different gear ratio and I believe the metal bottom guard.

I just checked again, and the 525l ratio is listed as 19. Once again, those numbers mean absolutely nothing.

Thank you for your input. Always good to hear other peoples experiences.
What is the difference between the l, ls, and lst model for the 525 trimmer?
See above response
husqvarna rapid reload or speed feed head will not fit on the LST according to another channel.
@@dth2525 I have put a speed feed on the LST
Take the guard off and let the string out about 3 feet! I like my weed eater to sound like a low hovering helicopter 😂😂
That’s the way to do it 😂
Is it advisable to use a .105 line on the 525lst or a brush cutter blade
It will handle both well. For the blade the installation kit is required
Is that Vortex rotary line? Is that your favorite
It seems to be the preferred line for most of our customers.
What's the difference between the LS and the LST just the gear head? Take care my friend 👍
That is all I am aware. So useful on the heavier material.
The LST mark ll. It seems to be a little heavier? What was wrong with the older model? My mark ll is a little under powered what do you think 😔
@@harryerhart5978 there were some design changes for longevity is what Husqvarna was pushing for.
Thanks 👍

Is this better than the Stihl 91R ?
There are definitely people in both camps
To me the Stihl has more power, but the Husqvarna is lighter and more nimble
i had a 525 lst i will buy a 535 LSR next
More power needed?
I heard that they are charging almost 70 dollars for 4 gaskets for the carb. Basically a 7 dollar part.
There is someone floating that around for sure. We stock and sell the full OEM rebuild kit for $14.99

You must speak from experience? It’s amazing how he takes certain things for granted.
I use the vp 2 cycle fule.
How do you feel that compares to the Husqvarna premix?
