How to Propagate Dracaena The Easiest Ways! How To Get More Dragon Tree For Free

- Dracaenas are beautiful architectural plants, native to western and tropical Africa. Plants produce bold rosettes of strap-like leaves at the tip of each shoot, as older leaves gradually fade and fall to leave bare stems at the base. Dracaenas rarely branch out, so cuttings of various heights are usually planted together for a bushier effect.
Each section of stem has the ability to develop roots from its base, while new shoots will emerge through the tip and sides
One of the easiest way to propagate your Dracaena plant involves simply cutting off the top.
Snip it just below the leaf line and be sure to include at least one node: roots grow from these round, white bumps on the stem.
Roots and new growth should appear pretty quickly during the warm Summer months, while things can take a little longer during Wintertime.
If you’re worried removing the top of your Dracaena will result in a sad, headless plant, don’t worry. One or multiple nodes close to the top of the original should start sprouting new leaves soon. It will be back to looking its best in no time.

This overly ritualised and sterile way of doing things is really not for me, the cutting of the stems almost like he didn't want to do it, the foliage of the dracaena comes off so easy and leaves a clean stem, why use the secateurs to cut it off? Using gloves?????? Ok, some of use can be allergic to plant sap.
The mixing of the soil is done in such a painfully slow way it made my eyes hurt from stress ... and then the filling of the pot... seriously? Why not use and expresso spoon? It would've prolonged the video by quite a lot with the insufferable music....
I would have put the 3 stems in water, one at the time after each cut to make sure they go right side in. But some people have good success with propagating in soil. It doesn't seem to work for me, it might have something to do with the climate and time of the year.
And its all taken away - no update... Typical.
Can you also make a video of the end result?
😂 I do not condone that 3rd method.....the plant empath in me cringed when I saw what he did with those sticks.
Can a plant parent get a warning disclosure for that violent footage 🤣
These plants prefer humidity and can easily be overwatered so be careful water propagating them does work they grow roots really well in water but need to be placed in soil after
Hi! How do the sticks not damage the plant?
5 minutes of my life I'll never get back
I just stick Dracaena Cane directly into the soil. Hard plant. It'll survive.
Mine are very tall and I will have dozens of "sticks." Someone said be sure you keep the sticks right side up when planting.

Really helpful--thank you! Suggestion: quieter, calmer music. Please.
Subjective. Music was actually very enjoyable and soothing.
No music at all would be the best :)

Love and plant👍 muchisimas gracias 🤗por este video, ojala mis plantas sobrevivan y se recuperen... Un saludo desde CA 👋
do they need to be under direct sun while rooting?
Stabbing through the stem works for every dracaena ? Everytime I try the water method my stems end up turning black and rot away pretty sure due to the contact with the glass…
After cutting are you putting them immediately into water or are you giving them a bit of time to scab? Water method seems to work half the time for me, but I tend to get better results if I let the plants cut dry over a bit (~a few hours to a day depending on the stem type) before placing it into the water
Nice plant, great sharing!
