@@Raider0075 There were a few spicy comments that were being quite mean in a not fun way to spiff that I removed. Theres a line, keep it on the side of light banter.
I didn't understand why you changed your format until I watched the Brit. @PotatoMcWhiskey, you did an amazing job! It was hilarious watching the Brit afterwards (but couldn't watch more than 5 mins worth) - I prefer your formats and play, let alone coffee.
Spiff isn't very good at all. You can tell based on some decisions he makes while showing us exploits. Simple things like setting a district down over a forest tile instead of chopping the forest first. Those add up fast.
"You don't need to build an entire personality, and entire brand around the idea that you love tea" Put this potato in a pot, cause he's calling the tea kettle black.
I find it hilarious that Jadwiga basically stole your city, refused to liberate it, then complained that your army was too close to her newly conquered territory! The cheek!
In a note, the exploit is because he gifted all his cities (except the capital) to Russia, as all his cities were converted to his religion, when he gave the cities, Russia got some cities, and as religions do not change when owner changes, more than half of his cities were following "Tea is only just ok".
IMO the best way to play Mali is to make a triangle of three tightly packed desert cities early on. You take desert folklore and make a little cluster of 3 sugubas/holy sites and you've basically already won the game if you don't get an early war dec.
Some more "annoying" religion civs you forgot: - Brazil (Batshit insane faith gen if they spam holy sites) - Indonesia (also dumb faith) - Australia (Only a +6 adjacency? PFFT) - Japan (rushes Holy sites) Honorable Mentions: Khmer, Spain, Maori, China
This Civ is amazing. I watched your video and followed some of your tips. I took desert folklore when choosing My Religion, you were absolutely right about that. To make up for the loss of production I took work ethic. Because of the desert adjacency Faith bonuses most of my holy sites have double digits, basically making them and Industrial site as well. I added in Tithe for the extra gold, and scripture for extra pressure. I am CRUSHING. thanks for the tips. I have been playing civilization since it came out, but over the years, kids, life, took me till recently getting a Nintendo switch to start playing again. But from watching your videos you open my eyes to ideas I never would have tried. Like desert folklore for instance.
I gotta say I love how you adopted bits of Spiff's narration style while still sticking to your own style as well. Hats off, that was really well done! (also _really_? The "Polish heavy cavalry" arrived? As a Sabaton fan that _absolutely_ kills me, man)
Oh god. I've been playing mali recently (no exploits tho). Still ended up getting pretty much all the great people tho. Mansa Musa is richboi. Also, try work ethic and the policy that give 100% extra holy site adjacency. Bonus points if you can get a scientist who makes the Holy site give science as well. (Ended up with a 14 faith, 14 science, 14 production holy site - so basically like 4/5 campuses, 4/5 industrial zones and 4/5 holy sites rolled into one)
Man, these videos are absolutely phenomenal! I'm having so much fun watching them. You should definitely explore all victory types and turn this into a series!
I just went to the spring to get water for tea; when I restarted the video you founded you religion. TEA TIME, BEFORE 420. 4:24, time for a burrito. Spegettee Monster for dinner. Religion of the Golden Road.
You know there's this Key & Peele sketch of them in a church as old ladies? So every time you say "I killed him" or "I eliminated him" I add under my breath "...with my prayers".
I just played my second Civ6 game ever and I decided to let the game pick a civilisation for me. It picked Mali. I immediately realised just how absolutely broken my faith generation would be right off the bat. I won the game before turn 250 just by outproducing everyone's faith by an absurd margin and flooding the world with missionaries and apostles. At the start I actually thought that the production nerf would be annoying, but it really wasn't bad since I was earning like 300 gold per turn by the time I won (just from commercial districts and traders, not even from making deals). I didn't even bother building units for most of the game, I just bought them whenever I needed them. Also after I got a dark age I was able to earn a truly staggering amount of era score with Exodus of the Evangelists, earning me like... double the era score I needed for a heroic age? Absolute insanity. After the game I decided to look up whether you have a video on Mali and of course, the first thing I see is "Religious Mali is BROKEN"... yep, about what I figured lol. A fun civ to play for sure.
The Spiffing Brit is only a god at geting views on exploits, you are good at the game alone and plays every challenges on the hardes difficulty. You've all ready won :) Congrats
I suck at the game but this Civ in particular is so fun to play with the desert bonus pantheon with production in holy sight = to adjacency belief. Soak up every inch of desert.
I have managed a religious win on Emperor twice with the supreme faiths "Fat Suit Wrestling" and "Peacock Fisting". Naming religions is basically what makes me want to try the VC at all.
Just want to be clear since some of the comments missed the point of this video - I am simply taking the michael out of Spiff. His videos are great. This is tongue in cheek.
The people who are missing the point are also people who are gonna have no idea what "taking the michael" means ;)
@PotatoMcWhiskey If you mean me it's cool, but I think it would be a great match b/t you and The Spiffing Britt.

You should do a religious victory on a huge pangaea with religion expanded (so that everyone gets a religion) and historical religions.
The religion should've been called "Coffee is slightly better"
Especially Irish coffee😍
What about my "Irish Breakfast" Tea?
And like all religion it would be factually inaccurate ;)

I think the gauntlet has been thrown down. We must see a multi-player match pitting The Spiffing Brit vs. our favorite potato!

Potato would win it within the first 20 turns probably, since Spiffy has no real clue about what he's doing in this game
