As an Australian I just love a road trip in the US. 2004 a mate and I drove from Miami to Chicago, one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Florida. Georgia. Tennessee. Kentucky. Indiana. Illinois. Great roads the whole way. I enjoyed the sights, the sounds, the smells, the rest stops, the cheap hotels, the diners, the different people in different states. We were treated nice the whole time. Gave me anecdotes that I can share for days. Your trip brought back memories. That’s the country I love, saddens me to see all the turmoil in the US right now. Disease. BLM. Uninspiring presidential candidates. I hope the US can get back on its feet real quick. Love from down under. Cool vid Dylan.

i had a 77 dodge d 100 extended cab long bed . had the 360 with a standard transmission . i bought it in 2005 for $50 because it quit running in 1980 and nobody could get it fixed. had no rust and only 2 dents . beautiful truck. after 2 hours of tossing every thing at it and almost gave up on it . i found the issue and the repair cost my $1.75. it had a rusted and almost completely cut in half ground cable coming off the battery. it was in such a way that looking at it you couldn't tell. i tossed a crescent wrench at the truck and it hit that cable breaking it completely. i replaced the cable and drove her 5 years. at 879,000 the motor seized on the highway and was towed never to be seen again. i love the dodge 360s . i had a van that made it to 850,000 . great content love seeing the old dodges

Dylan, greetings in the name of the Lord! I bought a '77 full time 4 wheel drive long bed extra cab in mid 90s for $1700. PO used it to commute (!) everyday between Albuquerque and Santa Fe at 12mpg. The 3 speed automatic failed but I had it rebuilt. 400ci 2bbl. I replaced the engine with one from a New Yorker. Eventually replaced the transfer case. That truck hauled everything to build my house. I could never do donuts because of full time 4 wheel drive. However, no matter the road conditions, all you had to do was point the wheels where you wanted to go. Last I know it was still running some place on the Navaho reservation near the Four Corners. This video bring back lots of good memories of the big blue elephant, as my wife called it. Thanks for posting!

We had a Ram that was that same color green; I think ours was a 79 or so? My uncle originally purchased it from the Florida forestry service, along with three others, he made two working ones out of the four and gave us one. The other two had cracked engine blocks. Definitely had amber signal lights up front, but I know that green color. Eventually a local Chrysler dealership owner bought it from my dad in...I think it was '95 or so, totally restored it, but he repainted the exterior white, which was odd. It was one of three Mopar we had when I was a kid; we had a '79 pickup (silver with black interior), and a '73 charger (beige with gold interior). Never had any of them new, they were always used.

If plugs are fouled, leave them in, or just take them out to keep them from seizing, and advance the timing until one of 4 things happens. 1) you hear spark knock. 2) it diesels after shutting off. 3) it cranks slower when it fires because it is trying to fire backwards. 4) it idles slower when you advance it more, rather than faster. Then see if the plugs run hot enough to self clean, at least the insulator tips, with the advanced timing. You can also burn soot off of plugs with a propane torch to clean them.

I once had an 80 D150 with a 318 in the same color scheme. If I remember correctly the middle strips is called teal sunfire metallic. My dad bought it and it was more of a base model but it was a good truck. My dash looked the same but it had a rubber floor mat instead of carpet. Your truck is bringing back some good memories.

Thanks to where I live, both the body and undercarriage of my "nearly identical" D200 version of this truck are essentially free of rust. It has exactly the same color combination and trim level but with the slightly fancier "SE" cloth and vinyl bench seat, that's also in excellent condition. It's almost entirely free of dents, dings, scrapes, and scratches "even inside the box" as it was primarily used to carry an oversized camper by means of folding down the tailgate and extending the extendable rear bumper. The OEM "Light Green Poly" paint is still good, but I've got to reshoot the "Medium Green Sunfire poly" on the hood, the tops of both doors, and the tops of both fenders.

Love the long bed Dodge's. I had a 73 D-100 with a 318 and I wish I still had it. The bed rotted out so I put a wooden bed on it because a long bed was hard to find. It seemed the cab was really wide, 3 adults could sit quite comfortable on the bench seat. That 77 is nice!

I’ve had my eye on a truck exactly like this (even the marker lights on the sides) but it’s gray and red. And for a Pennsylvania truck, minimal rust.

Sending sincere apologies for our roads here in Missouri, the best stretch of road we have is Hwy 54 from Jefferson City to Lake of the Ozarks. They resurface it every 3-5 years whether it needs it or not.

Years ago we had a 1968 Blue Bird Motor Home with a heavy duty Dodge 318 in it. The exhaust manifold had a crack in it so my Dad try to weld it but it didn't hold to well. So after that we looked and looked and looked for another manifold. We looked in every junkyard in the four state area (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas) for another manifold, but we couldn't find one anywhere; But I noticed that manifold on your truck looks like the manifold we were looking for. Your manifold might have fit our engine maybe?

Had a bunch of these, they're great trucks! Fav was a 1974 Sno-Fiter. There was a Sno-Commander too but the Fiter was extra heavy duty, super low gearing even for a Power Wagon. Both came stock with snowplow packages. You couldn't beat these trucks in the deep snow, I plowed in Buffalo for years, love these trucks, and anything else Dodge too, ...of course.

Dylan , I think it’s gotten to the point that your channel will need a charter flight to make the old start / cold start and rescue videos happen more efficient . Hey , if you can PM Derek , I definitely think there is a market for quality button down shirts as they will bring much luck to exploit and misadventures while getting jobs done . Lots of luck with this long bed mopar . The sheet metal is almost straight but the grille is nice . Reminds me of a short bed dodge slant six I got started for a guy once . We got it home just barely , misadventures not withstanding . Then proceeded to spend money on it . Of course the guy sold it , enough said there . That light blue short bed looks real respectable . Looking forward to more 👍
