Bart did not say "if your daughter is younger than you", he actually said "if your daughter is younger than Juul," his one and a half year old daughter is called Juul :)
There's probably several million Mothers (and a allot of Fathers) out there who can relate to cooking like this... I'm sixty-five and live very happily on my own but I still remember times like this, makes me smile, and the food looks great... Buen Provecho 8^}
Came for a recipe, stayed with the wish to start a family. Beautiful daughter, amazing she's involved and allowed to watch. Wish I have had a dad like this!
All those people bitching about the child having her diaper and dirty shoes on the counter. The tray with food went into a 230 degree hot oven. All bacteria are dead. Just fricking relax. People are just to scares about a little dirt nowadays. Anyway, great dish! I love salmon!
What a beautiful child. I remember when my girls were that young! Also, I was thinking about green beans a few days ago and remembered that my grandmother grew what she called "runner beans", and you used the same term. I didn't know if the phrase "runner beans" was unique to the Southern USA or what exactly a "runner" meant. Then, you happened to use the same in your video. So, I suppose that they have "runner beans" in your neck of the woods also!
RMK 79 You totally misunderstood indeed. Barts origins lie in the elusive Netherlands, where kitchens are autonomous semi-organic beings. The degree to which Dutch kitchen doors can be opened depends on the temperature of the kitchen. Every person that enters it makes the kitchen warmer due to body heat so normally only one slim person would be allowed passage. The fact that a toddler was let inside along with Bart means that this kitchen must have excellent cooling capabilities, and this kitchen is actually Barts wife. The Dutch culture is very advanced and kitchen-beings like this have rights of their own equal to that of human beings. Hence the expression that his wife must be very cool to let the toddler in...
Fabi Yang haha. Kids between 12-36 months are called toddlers for a reason. Coz they toddle around unsteadily and move on instinct. Just like she grabbed the fish she could have grabbed a sharp instrument or a hot utensil. Yes the father is vigilant. But that is the most dangerous age group in kitchen. If the baby was less than 6 months also, it would be fine as then the baby couldn't move on his own.
Sagar Behera yes but he made sure dangerous objects weren't in her reach. I was cooking in the kitchen from a very young age and now I'm a pretty good cook if I do say so myself. You can't bubble wrap kids, everything has an element of danger you just have to be careful that's all :)
Adorable family and great video. Only wanted to note that the sound was a little bit low/inconsistent for me. Otherwise, keep up the great work Jamie Oliver family!!!!!
I couldn't have done that with any of my children at that age. I would have run short of beans for the dish. They would have started eating them because they liked them so much.
Sorry, but if you want just to bring water to the boil, please use warm water from the tap and please put a lid on and please leave it on so you can "save" a bit more energy. Plus, less water will evaporate so you can use less from the start.
Newsflash germophobes: there aren't any germs on any part of that toddler that aren't already all over every surface in the house including her father's hands. Calm down. This is how most people with young children actually cook. At least in the USA, we make such a fuss about fathers not participating in domestic work and child-rearing, but as soon as we see a dad doing exactly that, it's nothing but nitpicking criticism. This video is fantastic on all levels. I smiled the entire time.
Ha! When you said “If your child is younger than Juul...”, I completely heard “If your child is younger than you…”, and I thought, “What kind of riddle is this?”
The salmon flesh will be nice and fluffy but the skin is gonna be soft and some what gross to the touch. It's better to lay them skin side down in the baking pan and let the skin get nice and crispy
A T that's correct but not in all cases. You can get crispy roast chicken but you can't get a descent crust if you bake a steak you need direct high heat. I'm sure Bart is well aware of this maybe he just didn't include it in the recipe.
I know everybody likes their kids and think they are the best but believe me nobody who watches cooking videos want them in. Again nothing against kids but if i wanna watch kids and their clumsiness I will watch kid shows. Keep 'em outta kitchen please.
On the contrary, I think it's great to show you can essentially do this dish with one hand while wrangling young'uns. Also, he's instilling good food habits from the start. A bit distracting for some, a great encouragement for others
I don't know where to start with the comments. What was that. First of all have you realized how dangerous was having the kid so close to the kitchen, and the knives not to mention that at a point she was playing with a porcelain plate, plus that at the beginning she played a bit with the raw fish and then she just nicely wiped her hands on her dress, excellent. An other question. Is that how you cook in restaurants too? (If you work in a restaurant). With your sleeves down almost touching the food? Hygiene 0. Really really disappointed that no one was bothered and let this video fly in foodtube.
Its not my kitchen so I'm not judging, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want any child, or anyone for that matter, to be sitting on the surface to which a meal is going to be prepared.
RMK 79 goddammit generation z SJW snowflake. what did you want me to say? where's this man's husband? seriously people these days think with their butthole.
RMK 79 i couldn't care less about when you were born. i do however care about the safety of the kid. pardon me for being a better netizen than you could ever wish to be.
How to cook with a child, real life! I'm amazed at all the parents who can get dinner on the table while caring for their children. 👏🏻
Probably 90% of parents
Bart did not say "if your daughter is younger than you", he actually said "if your daughter is younger than Juul," his one and a half year old daughter is called Juul :)
Exactly!

Good to keep a child younger in the kitchen, as well as to give taste everything they want👍👍👍👊👊💪💪
Your daughter is beautiful and a good help in the kitchen. Great simple quick dish. See you next Fishy Friday.
have this angel always in the kitchen when you do your videos at home, and awesome dish, I am doing this next week...
So cute to your baby helping you and how much she loved tasting. She's starting young!:-)
The kid’s reaction to everything he sees in a kitchen cracks me up lol
I love these fish recipes
Lovely and easy making dish.
A very awesome salmon dish, Bart. Your daughter is so adorable. Sustainable seafood is a smart choice. Cheers Bart and Jamie.
Very nice dish! I feel inspired to cook it. Thanks!
excellent i love it .i want to say thank mr.jamie
He's so dutch hahaha
hahaha echt he
Great video and whatnot, but did you leave out the salt and pepper?
Alert, Alert....cuteness overload !!!! OMG!

"And if your child is younger than you" ... a totally true, but sadly just misheard statement
It could be a problem otherwise
He said younger than Jule (his daughter)
Younger than Juul :-)
Nice to see Jamie having the Dutch cook could you maybe have a recipe for farmers cabbage ??
Your wife is so cool to allow your toddler in the kitchen. 😁
Sagar Behera I don't understand your comment. Does he need his wife's permission to have her in the kitchen? Is he incapable of looking after her?

RMK 79 Bubble wrapping kids is actually a very common traditional technique in the Netherlands.
She's going to be a Fabulous Cook your Little Cutie
thanks for the vid
Nice recipe!
Those potatoes, beans and coriander reminds me of The Old Country Side.😭😭😭
Very tasty, but as an Indian, I would like to sprinkle some Salt and pepper
AWE SHE SO CUTE..
What a perfect little toe-headed child !!!
Yes great video ❤️❤️ love your daughter reminds me of my sister
When wife says to look after kids... :D
Bart with another delicious recipe!!! You know how to torture a hungry man don't you? Hahaha
Great recipe... would you put the veg in first then add the salmon to tray later? Potatoes might need longer to cook than salmon
Adorable family and great video. Only wanted to note that the sound was a little bit low/inconsistent for me. Otherwise, keep up the great work Jamie Oliver family!!!!!
great job
She's very cute...I love your daughter😍😍😘😘😘
I thought he just hold her for intro but nope...this is like a distracting cook show
Notification squad. Great videos
His daughter sure is cute and I like this recipe looks very delicious. =)
Love her curiosity :)
His baby out there looking like Boris Johnson
The star is your lovely daughter and , of course, her cool dad.
Brilliant!!!
Exelant dish cute baby girl 😍😘
I couldn't have done that with any of my children at that age. I would have run short of beans for the dish. They would have started eating them because they liked them so much.
Mooi filmpje Bart.
Did you leave your kid on the counter top while you pre heated the oven?
Sorry, but if you want just to bring water to the boil, please use warm water from the tap and please put a lid on and please leave it on so you can "save" a bit more energy. Plus, less water will evaporate so you can use less from the start.
SHE STEPPED ON THE FISH

Denglish, gotta love it lol
Such a cutie, I see daddy feeds her good with that little round belly.😍😍😍 Oh and the recipe looks yummy too. Look forward to trying it out.
*Dutchness intesifies*
Oh, bless!
What a coincidence.
I just had salmon
Joel Lee . How nice!
ud he
Thank u for the kind words
Joel Lee . Sure I know that feeling when eating something and someone right next to u is making that same exact thing. So very nice!
ud he
#indeed
Yum with pesto!
Here for the parenting police comments
Eyes rolling back into skull from them 🙄
No seasonings?
that baby has such gorgeous hair
Doesn't the skin prevent the salt from getting inside the potatoes?
svsguru2000 if you add salt to the water when you boil them it penetrates the skin :)
the majority of the nutrients are in the potato skins, so that's another reason to keep them on. also provides texture
no salt?
I like your daughter's name! :)
Juultje Eenink i like you
Ha! When you said “If your child is younger than Juul...”, I completely heard “If your child is younger than you…”, and I thought, “What kind of riddle is this?”
مره رحت لسوق اشتري سلمون فكلت لصاحب المحل عندك سلمون ؟؟
رد عليه كال منو سلم عليه 😂😂😂😂
wait what was his dauther name again?
Nice
Anyone knows why he puts the skin side up?
So the skin gets crispy
Calcium and oil
He needs to turn the handle of that boiling pot around.
you can see she's can be garet cook
Shout-out to people who can tell the difference between "Juul" and "you".
no salt no pepper?
constablekohler it's toddler-friendly I guess. Salt is really bad for babies
The salmon flesh will be nice and fluffy but the skin is gonna be soft and some what gross to the touch. It's better to lay them skin side down in the baking pan and let the skin get nice and crispy
in baking the exposed top part is what gets crispy. I’m p sure someone with as much experience with fish as Bart would know that
A T that's correct but not in all cases. You can get crispy roast chicken but you can't get a descent crust if you bake a steak you need direct high heat. I'm sure Bart is well aware of this maybe he just didn't include it in the recipe.
Something about cooking with a toddler on the kitchen table with knives and boiling water feels a little unsafe. I dunno, maybe its just me
Next time get a babysitter
Great recipe but didn;t like walking round holding a baby with boiling hot water in a saucepan
bellissimo
Dutch accent?
I’m tired of saying I’m first
Shivanjal Lal stop then.
So are we
Shivanjal Lal We're tired of reading it. It's a win-win if you shut up.
I don't know.. I wouldn't have a child still in a nappy on the counter, or near a hot stove.
Why the hell not?
Lol ur silly, I cook with my kids there all the time. Never ever an issue,in fact he loves it
Well, she could be a flying Dutchgirl
Phil Long I suppose we'd be having dinner
Phil Long . What do you think you were once ??? Can u guess??? a BABY!
So let others live too!
For f*** sake SEASON IT!!!!!
Why do people always have to pull their kids in front of the camera?
Is anyone else disgusted by the fact that his daughter is crawling all over the prep are with shoes on?
never work with animals or children. Nice dish though.
I know everybody likes their kids and think they are the best but believe me nobody who watches cooking videos want them in. Again nothing against kids but if i wanna watch kids and their clumsiness I will watch kid shows. Keep 'em outta kitchen please.
She was distracting
Agreed
Amen.
On the contrary, I think it's great to show you can essentially do this dish with one hand while wrangling young'uns. Also, he's instilling good food habits from the start. A bit distracting for some, a great encouragement for others
Speak for yourself! I loved to watch the kid
I don't know where to start with the comments. What was that. Menininho se deixar come a tigela toda hã ?
just put the kid away man, its dangerous in the kitchen. lol
"If your child is younger than you"...😂 ill allow it, english isnt his first language
he means younger than his Daughter , he doesn't always pronounce the J in her name
"than Juul" ... Ill allow it, Dutch isnt your first language
Hey Bart for Christ's sake GET A HAIRCUT!!
Its not my kitchen so I'm not judging, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want any child, or anyone for that matter, to be sitting on the surface to which a meal is going to be prepared.
Great recipe but having kids in the kitchen it's annoying!
Not keen on salmon. Any other fish anyone could recommend?
RMK 79 seabass or hake are great to
piccoleitor awesome :) will give it a bash.
You are gonna love it, but the most important thing is not to overcook the fish so it keeps juicy and delicious
Phil Long what sort of fish are you eating?
Phil Long fair enough 😂
The kid annoyed me honestly
where's this man's wife??? It's dangerous to have children near knives and boiling hot water. not to mention the kid could fall down the table.
hmmph sexist
RMK 79 goddammit generation z SJW snowflake. what did you want me to say? where's this man's husband? seriously people these days think with their butthole.
hmmph no you assume that a man cannot look after his child safely in a kitchen and that his wife needs to be there to look after her!
hmmph also I was born in the 90s so think again before you label generation snowflake.
RMK 79 i couldn't care less about when you were born. i do however care about the safety of the kid. pardon me for being a better netizen than you could ever wish to be.
#RAWMEATDIET
