I think it is called Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia). It is native to Lichuan county in Hubei province, China. Yesterday I went to a Chinese market and a seller is trying to sell me a chopping board using this wood. Heard that it is pretty hard and resistant to fungus. Never tried it before. It's beautiful.
