Grandfather can fix anything...probably even a broken heart.
Underated comment

Yeah, but you still have to let him put it in a vice and take a hacksaw to it first.
he didnt fix it but he pretty sure help make me feel a bit happier
Bravo I couldn't begin to see how all that sawing, and filing could go together. Bravo Grandpa Amu
Hello Grandfather Amu, I am always so excited about what you are doing. You are a great master.
Always stay HEALTHY and HAPPY.
Please be at least 120 years old 🙏🏼😊
We still have a lot to learn from you.
Greetings from Germany. 👋🏻
Thank you
Speaking for the woodworkers out there: more joinery videos! This was great. I'm just an amateur myself, but I'm confident that amateurs and pros alike from America will really appreciate this as it's just not a type of joinery you see here.
Do you know the type of wood he is working on? What's its name? Thanks in advance
@@Lu-KN yeah I'd love to know the name of the wood too, looks like it's moderately hard but not too heavy, and I wonder what that beautiful red tone would look like with various finishes on it
The European equivalent of this joint would be the "scarf joint" using two wedges but simpler main cuts, similar principle but normally seen used to extend boards or beams
@@Lu-KN very red like cedar.
It reminds me of some sort of a madrone, but I always thought madrone was a hardwood so I'm actually not sure
Welcome back Grandpa Amu, it's nice to see you back at work on the little things that you do so well, custom artistry. Thanks for sharing your mastery with wood. Your Texas friend Paul. 😁👍🇺🇸
Thank you
Beautiful joinery. I'm a woodworker myself and your material is very inspiring and always teaches me something. Thank you so much, Grandpa Amu! 😄
I can't believe the color of that wood. Never seen anything like it. Beautiful work Grandpa 🤘
The best part is when he put the pieces together and they fit perfectly.
I'm a purist. If it was made by man, it will fail. Plain and simple. Even glue. It may take a long time, even like a thousand years, it will fail. So I focus on joinery, after the glue, nails or screws or whatever! THIS JOINT WILL HOLD!!!!!!!! Freakin FANTASTIC my amazing friend from across the pond!!!!!
Hello Grampa Amu, I am up early and the first thing I do is look for you and to my surprise you are fixing things broken and making them new so nice. Right now we have a hurricane coming and so I am up early to put things inside so the wind does not carry them away and damage some house or property. When I watched this video I though about how important it is to never give up people or things that are broken and instead to work with what we have and make things better. Thank you
@@user-ok8qx3qo1o I agree, there are Kulibins and were among all nations. And it's good that they are shown.---Yep, that's what he said
@@manarbekazhibekov3501 Don't tell. So evenly fitted a lot of stepping surfaces that the hair will get stuck in them.--Me again.
Let me help. He says in Russian: The Master, not only the hands grow from where But the head is in its place. Impressive.
I love watching you work and the way you make everything look so easy
Sencillamente: ¡ Magistral !
Only Grandpa Amu can put the two pieces end to end, draw this with a thick pencil, use no squares or anything to cut straight and absolutely get it perfect. Note how he checks the piece, chisels it one more time and releases it from vice? That’s because he has done this so many times that he doesn’t need to check again. He knows he’s done it perfect.
This is why i joined this channel. beautiful workmanship

Thank you again GRANDPA for making me realize what a failure of my life has been.
I think this wasn't his intention, he was simply sharing the pride and joy of a craftsman, and I hope you only made this comment out of a bad day, I wish you many joyous and productive days ahead!
OMG! I never thought this 2 pieces can be joined flawlessly with just hand tools!!!
Brilliant Idea.
Congratulations, Grandpa Amu.
Great
I am fascinated by his mastery!!!
Beautiful work, as always.
This is way more impressive than it looks.
Looks pretty impressive!
No power tools or jigs, just basic tools, years of skill, and an affinity for the wood.
You always amazes me.
A work of a genius.
Thanks for sharing
Makes it look so easy. Lifetime of skilled craftsmanship.

🇧🇷 O que é o Islã? 🇧🇷
Allah , the Eternal Refuge.
Jamais gerou ou foi gerado.
E ninguém é comparável a Ele.
Excelente trabajo. Un ensamble perfecto 👍
Sir, you are amazing!!!
Great work
Beautiful wood
*WOW now that is so danged impressive. I was trying to figure out, how the two pieces joined up with the cuts that you did. But when you laid the two parts together, was when I said "WHAT THE..." & then you put the thin slip of wood in. You are a genius Grandpa Amu.*
the forbidden city was built with a single nail, and it can stand earthquake through the years. the joineries used allow the buildings to sway (slightly) instead of breaking apart.
there are two youtube videos on Chinese joinery: Chinese Architecture Brackets, Ancient Chinese Carpentry without Nails.

Incredible precision! I like working with hand tools but I'm never able to make something as perfect as you. Something I'll have to work hard to achieve and learn from you. The wood looks amazing as well, what type of wood do you use? It looks like Pink Ivory wood

What kind of wood is this? Looks like it could be cedar or mahogany?
Bravo 👏👏🏆✍️🇧🇷
Yep... that Grandpa Amu is one handy guy! Where did Grandpa learn all his skills?
You made a piece of red broken wood an made it whole again by adjusting the ends so they fit evenly with a key in the center to hold it in place 😁✌❤
Delicious!
That red wood looks very cool. Somebody can tell me if it's poor on tannin acid or very rich of it? Just to have an idea if it could met well steel.
Well thank god he fixed it.
I rejoined a freshly broken pencil together, it was seamless and held up together, very satisfying like this
