- Grandpa Amu used a piece of wood to be sawed, planed, polished, and then made into a small general case, also called a Luban table, which can be easily carried and used as a small tea table when going outdoors, or can be used as a small handicraft display and play, of course. It's both comforting and unsettling that Grampa Amu has help. It's comforting because it means that he's training a young man the amazing skills necessary to make these wonderful things. It's unsettling because like the rest of us, Grampa Amu is not getting any younger. Eventually, he will go the way of all men. And we will sorely miss him.
Could be that cutting hard wood by hand with a handmade saw is incredibly tiring. Or he's gonna die. You know, one or the other.
I'm not having the best of times lately but a Grandpa Amu video helps lift my spirits. 🤗
I've been watching his videos recently while having another video going with Uncle Iroh giving advise.
I couldn't see the table until the last minute. My mouth dropped open when he assembled it. Just incredible.

While I still enjoy the videos, I really preferred it when he was working at the shed in the woods. It was so peaceful and serene, with the stream and the music. Definitely something to be said for simple beginnings.

That little red fold up table came out great 😃 I like how you work out all the details & adjustment to make sure it open an close evenly. Your craftsmanship is impressive so are the project you make each time have you made a wind chime before 😁✌❤
grandpa learned his craft from the traditional carpenter. most poor kids apprenticed for a period of at least 3-5 years back in the old days to learn a trade.
You are very good with everything you and your son do. I notice most of the blocks you use are cedar at least they look like cedar. You do very good work. I watch all your videos that I can. Thanks for sharing your art .
