But the speed can vary a lot from place to place just like a cell phone because it’s using 5G. So basically you have to try it to know. I used it for probably five or six months. And it was great at first. Certainly not as fast as AT&T but good enough of including 4K streaming on two different TVs at the same time. However eventually became extremely slow. I think maybe they added more users in the area. I experienced lots of buffering on the televisions even on the phone. Sometimes it was just almost unusable. And I have a T-Mobile tower directly across the street from my house. And the unit was in a window. I could check the speed on my phone and it was fine, and then check the speed on the Internet and it was super slow. So they were definitely prioritizing the home Internet.
A question I haven’t seen anyone ask… If I have T-Mobile cellular service, and T-Mobile home internet, should I be connecting my phone to the WiFi connection? It would be the same thing if I were to just stay on the 5g right?
@ yeah I don’t think that would make any difference they are both 5G. Basically their Internet is just a hotspot. And mine was typically much slower than the phone. And I have a tower of directly across the street from me. And I had the T-Mobile device in the window. The connection was always excellent. They clearly prioritize the home Internet over the mobile phones. Or at least they were. And like any of those things if there are a lot of users on the same power, it’s gonna get bogged down. I might try it again in the future.
My bill is $30/month and I routinely hit over 400 mbs download and 30 upload. This is also with the older gateway that has a connection of "very good" and not "excellent." Have had the internet for 13 months now and it's been a great deal
I have no cell phone, but I have Internet from a laptop. Can I activate the Internet on the gateway without scanning as I can't scan cause I have no cell phone?
So me and my dad have been wanting to get one but one thing we are quiet confused about, we pay our plan by a pre pay like will that plan still help us get a discount?
So I live where Comcast is the only option (Fios not available). I have gigabit internet from Comcast, which I pay $135/mo which is asinine. I have T-Mobile cell plan though, and have been really happy with them over the years. I’m just wondering if their wireless internet matches up with the service I currently have. If it does, bye bye xfinity!
With a T-Mobile cell phone plan, you’ll definitely get T-Mobile internet for a much more affordable price. However, you will almost definitely not get 1 Gbps speeds (mine averaged 200-300 Mbps). That said, depending on how you use the internet (number of devices and people in your home) these speeds might be sufficient. Hope that helps!
@@Theseniorlist really depends on where you live. I get 650-750 mbps so for me it’s pretty fast. My ping is usually around 28-48 so yeah not bad at all. I live close to a 5g tower in a rural area
Restart your modem regularly as they fill up with cache or lost files. I usually restart mine once a day (waking up). I use the app to restart it. Another thing you can try is locate the tower closer to you that is T-Mobile. Best way is walk around your house outside and see where your signal is strongest. That’s the direction your modem needs to be. Hope that helps
I imagine this would be the case. While I experienced pretty fast speeds, I live in a household of two, and nobody games, so there are not too many devices vying for the connection. -Ryan
@@qpMedley Yes for sure , t mobile just struggles on fast paced games , so if your in to mortal Kombat, or any call of duty then yeah it won't be smooth but it's crazy how the download speeds are good but doesn't run as smooth online that well
Actually it’s not terrible. I normally get pings around 40-50. I’ve seen it get into the 30s. I haven’t really experienced any lag with it. Update: I have seen my ping in the 20s a few times since making this post
How much did they pay you? For you to say not even can come up with any cons just made you more obvious smh I’ll bet you that you’ll also remove this post from your video
The pricing was fair, the setup was easy, and my speeds were faster than advertised. I did mention that speeds will likely vary by location, but other than that, I don’t see how else to judge an internet provider. A potential con might be the lack of any plans with 300+Mbps download speeds, but this would only matter to larger households, so I assume it’s irrelevant for our audience. -Ryan
Great review! My ATT internet has become so expensive I am considering T Mobile.
If you live in T-Mobile’s coverage area, I’d say it’s definitely worth a try. - Ryan

Yeah i am blown away ive seen 600+ mbps speeds on tmobile, i actually ditched fiber internet for this. Its amazing

I got it at Costco for $35.
Love that!
what is max data per month?
There is no hard cap on data, and to my understanding, there is no throttling limit on data (high-speed or otherwise). - Ryan
@@Theseniorlistthey changed it. After 1TB of data is gets Deprioritized
@@avilajairo74 rip. I was thinking of switching to this, but I tend to use about 2tb of data per month, so definitely not worth it for me.

I use it with my ps5 and it works great. Download speeds are actually impressive for what it is and streaming works good as well

Now they change it 11.2024. No activation fees and only $35 month. Just got one.
They are frequently changing their pricing for new subscribers so we definitely recommend checking their website for the current offers in your area.
I just went to T Mobile Wifi and ansolutely love it. Easy to set up and great speeds for an excellent price! Totally recommend❤
Glad to hear it!
Yes I love the speed on mines I am leaving Xfinity internet it got to go 😅
$35 a month right now
Where and how?
Is faster than spectrum 500 mbp n fast download speed n great on major on line gaming n great smooth streaming ??🤔🤔🤔
it definitely won't be as fast as a 500 Mbps connection.
@Theseniorlist Thank You So Much I Will Stay With Spectrum then 🎮💯

Can you run home security
Cameras off of this?
Is it good for ps5
I play cod with it and I don’t lag. The pings I get usually range from 42-68. I’ve seen it in the 30s a few times
T mobile not good for gaming tho , there's a slight lag on certain games , like Call of duty . It's not so smooth with heavy duty games
For less intense games like Minecraft, do you think it would be alright?

You only get 100GB high speed data. Then it drops to kbps. I went through it in less than a week. Useless.
