I've watched a lot (I mean a lot...) of your videos, but this is undoubtly the best of all so far. To see you dancing, smiling and enjoying yourself like that is (in my opnion ) what bass playing should be about. Kudos to you and the band!
PS: you should add a new criteria to your bass reviews... something on the realm of "Bass faceness", "Fun to play" or "Groovability" 🙂

The bass is an active Carvin SB5000. The Bass Whisperer made an excellent review of it on YT 12 years ago (labelled "highly recommended"). Well done Lobster, you proove the same, top bass, top playing.

The bass isn't mine, it's my friend's who is the regular bass player. I just brought my strap so I wouldn't be playing on my knee hahaha

Hey Lobster, it brought a huge smile to my face to see you sitting in with this band. Based on the other responses, you are obviously well loved and respected in the bass community. I bet there are many other bass players who would be glad to sit in with their bands whether or not they asked you to geek out their basses-and I bet you get many, many requests. Post more gigging if you can, we all loved it.

Yeah brother nice to see you playing an alive situation. Usually week are you playing your test riffs over and over on the base. And it's understood you do that for consistency compare the quality of the instrument in various tonalities. it was cool to see you playing a classic and rocking out. Nice smooth that tight low end there. Your timing was impeccable. Wouldn't mind seeing more videos of you and live playing situations

"Lobster"!!.... Really Nice Groove you had going, there!! Where were you (state or ??) when you sat in with them? Hehe... did they ask you to sit in with them.... Permanently?!!? ; ) Where was their regular bass player while you were laying down this groove.... hiding in the restroom, somewhere.. out of embarrassment ?? LOL.... just kidding, but Hey!... you just never know. 😂
PS:.... by the way, I'm holding YOU(!!) Fully Responsible for me Having to buy a new Squier Paranormal "Rascal" HH... after watching your 2 reviews on it about a month ago!!! I just received it two days ago (Wed. 8.30th), got it from zZounds Music (in New "Joysey")... and had to get the Metallic Black one, as there are None of the Metallic Sherwood Green versions, like you reviewed... to be found Anywhere, including on Reverb and Amazon... but no shortage of the Metallic Black versions.
The earliest that anyone showed even a "Possible" (-vs- "Probable") Ship Date (leaving China), was in October... between the 24th & 28th... and with things going as they are in this world, currently.... Who really knows When, if at all !!
So, I thought I would grab a Black one, and just hang on to it (still in the box), and see what happens with the Green versions. If they never come back (and I was told that - That, could be a real possibility, then I would at least have the Black version. Maybe, curiosity will get the better of me, and I'll just have to open the box and take a "gander" at the Black one ( I DO, like the Pearlescent pickguard, better than the plain "cream" color guard on the Green version).... and if I like it after trying it out.... I might just "Have to" keep it, and get the Green version to go with it! Can't have "just One", ya know!! : )
I just ordered a new set of the LaBella 760F - MUS (stang) flats for it, today. I called Jim, up there in NH, at JustStrings (dot com), who is my "go to" for all my sting needs for my basses, guitar, Lap & Console Steel guitars.... and he didn't have that set in stock (Unbelievable!! for him! lol), but he told me to give Strings by Mail (in MI.) a call, because he knew that they had a few sets in stock,,, so I did, and they're on the way. I had a "visit" on the phone, with a really sweet "gal" (lady) who confirmed to me that the LaBella 760F- MUS. set, is the ONLY set they make, that will fit the Squier Paranormal "Rascal".... Period, end of story!!
PPS... Please (!!), put up more video's of you, jamming / giging... with whomever!! Have a great/fun... Labor Day weekend.

a man that has many basses; look for the one he actually takes to a gig.
Except this one isn't mine LOL ;P. I usually try to mix it up on gigs/rehearsals and experiment with different basses as I've been surprised more than once. I play in a couple bands locally that vary in genre and musical era, so it's never one bass to rule them all for me.
If I am hearing you correctly, always borrow someone else’s gear to prevent damage or theft of your own gear. J/k.
