I can hear Joey's Brooklyn accent calling out, "FLASH FLARE BLASTTTT"
That's the only reason I remembered it was Black Metal lol
Or how in battle city vs espa roba, Joey says gear"field" attack!!
32:48 Fun Fact in manga there is an extra surrender, In the Joey & Yugi Match Joey choses to conceed to yugi before the game starts under the strategy that playing the game out will just give Pegasus more information about Yugi's deck and strategy. I think this is before they realize that Pegasus is a mind reader.
That would have sucked so much in the anime if they did that. I’m so glad we got the “No Matter What” duel
Also Bakura surrenders to yugi!
@@skatmancarlos The Bakura duel didn't happen in the manga, but I think you are correct that Bakura surrendered in that anime duel.
@@marchmelloowBakura ruined Yami Bakura's strategy, but it's not a surrender

Who ever was in charge of the U.I messed up with the Panik question highlighted the wrong answer.
Even the editor forgot Kaiba's doppelganger was a thing.
Mbt said gay clown which could both refer to panik and go kaivas doppelganger as a YGOTAS reference so mbt saying gay clown is really really confusing and then dzeef didn't really ever say the answer before they moved on
@@wen1188 Panik is never referred to as a gay clown afaik, that's specifically a name for the Kaiba imposter. Maybe he is by implication, like when Yugi asks what's with his show and gay clowns, but he never adresses panik directly as such. MBT's answer is pretty unambiguous.
@@storotso look at panik like LOOK AT HIM, yeah emo clown, goth clown, cloth gown might be more appropriate but like in ancient Egypt Atem would have 100% called him a slur.
@@wen1188 while both can be called gay clown, the dopp would much more feasibly be referred to it than panik
I love how the Bandit Keith question is just "what do the Macho Man Randy Savage and Bandit Keith have in common?" with the IC title lmao. Very fun video!
Please join this type of TrIvia show - we need a Chaotic Cimo Collab!
@@DiamondDM13 He watched the dub
Rip the pokewalker series it was such a cool idea and great exercise
@@DiamondDM13these are 2 white american men who probably watched the anime in English before anything else
@DiamondDM13 It's a fun video for entertainment. The dub is funnier. It's better to use the dub.
Cimo with a surprise Will of the Councel collab.
God that podcast is so damn fun!
8:35 in the manga/anime for duel monsters they could fuse ANY two or more monsters into something using polymerization, but as cimo points out thousand dragon was not summoned that way.
Fun fact! The fusion summoning rule from the manga/anime was put into the early yugioh videogames like forbidden memories where you could just fuse anything together to create something.
Time Wizard was also considered a spell card in the manga, so even if it did combine with time wizard it would be closer to a ritual summon than a fusion summon
The weird fusion thing is in Duelist of the Roses as well.
I feel like there are only two yugituber opinions on the anime:
- Watched every second of every episode and know everything about it
- Never watched it, hate it anyway, and hate the people that talk about it
No in-betweens are allowed :P
There's also Coder who liked Vrains and I think only Vrains.
Not only yugitubers I think 😂
There's the in-between of people who praise exactly half of the series and hate the rest.
The type who will speak lovingly about DM, GX, 5Ds and usually Vrains but maybe Zexal and look down on the rest of the series, especially the Rush anime. Regardless on whether or not they actually watched them.
Meanwhile I think the anime, while cool, has some serious flaws due to crunch culture resulting on contrived or repetitive duels and flat characters outside the chosen ones.
Don't hate it though, in part because latinamerican dubs had actual quality standards in the early 2000's, unlike the english one who still struggle to make proper localization to this day.
then there's me who watched Zexal up to the second arc in young age, then as an adult finished it, then watched DM up to episode 104 and then 5Ds to the end of the Earthbound Immortals arc
I guess that is about half or maybe 30% idk
As a manga reader, it was painfully to get so many answers wrong because of the differences
SAMEEEE, like when they mentioned the big 5 arc or Bakura having a duel with Yugi, or Mai having a duel with Anzu/Tea (she NEVER had a duel in the entire manga).
yeah, got to love 4kids altering stuff
the thing with bakura though was most likely because the anime skipped to just the duel monsters stuff, so no Monster World arc and they had to introduce him somehow
@@DimkaSulegnaa 4kids didn't add anything, they just censored and changed the dialogue. Those episodes still exist in the Japanese version of the anime.
@@numberhunter62yeahhhh didn’t think about that until after i posted and clicked off the vid, i done goofed
Yeah, I really don't see the point of this video. The manga is the source material, and the 4Kids dub of the anime is multiple layers removed from it and is basically fanfiction with the level of changes in made.
If this was about Vrains MBT would have aced it
Spoiler: in this video, MBT has a threeway with Danny and Peeps.
The harpie lady sisters question made me just realize something. I knew it was 1950/2100 as a statline, but I just realized they did the same thing as with gate guardian where the stats are half of the sum of its parts. Regular harpie lady is 1300/1400, 3 of them would be 3900/4200, and half is 1950/2100
Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon too
3000 x 1.5 = 4500
2500 x 1.5 = 3750
Though they rounded up the DEF from 3750 to 3800
@@YumiSparklesthen they ruin it with cyber end dragon. Granted they made it stronger than it should be so that’s good.
@@tnuhenaj3752 Cyber Twin is interesting though, it's 1.33x (or 4/3x to be more precise), with the Defense Rounded down from 2133 to 2100
they're still doing this. the gadget monster in shining sarcophagus
@@YumiSparkles they don’t make that a pattern though cause blue eyes twin burst has the same stats as blue eyes. It all ends up being arbitrary in the end.
Maybe not even worth looking at as an example but twin headed thunder dragon too.
Fun fact: since there's so many fun facts going around in this comment section already. The duel against Bakura actually happens before Duelist Kingdom. It was added in the anime because the entire game was skipped between episode 1 and 2.
In the actual game from the manga they don't play duel monsters with Bakura, instead they play a fantasy TTRPG based on D&D that has more adversarial rules for the GM to treat it more competitively. In that version of the story, Bakura widdles and paints everyone wooden figures that depict them playing the classes they chose. He has an entire collection of figures that were brought to life by souls he's stolen solely so he can make his game more engaging. Things flow pretty similarly to the anime in terms of Yami Yugi taking control and saving everyone.
Now for everyone curious, the classes were as follows:
Yugi - Beast Master
Jonouichi/Joey - Warrior
Anzu/Tea - Mage
Honda/Tristan - Magic Gunman
They even teach cheating techniques like how to roll a d10
also regular bakura is a white mage, and in the toei anime, miho (a girl tristan has a crush on) played a merchant. At one point there was a trap that required them to roll a specific number to get out of it, and while in the manga it was just due to yami yugi rolling that number, in the toei anime miho had an ability to change the number rolled there because she was a merchant (miho was added into several season 0 episodes, some were original , others were based on the manga chapters, such as instead of having mokuba play a rigged game of capsule monsters with yugi, it's a guy who's obsessed with miho, and yugi steps in partway through the game)
@user-nm1eu1xu1j in the manga version Zorc also comes out as the BBEG.
Honestly that arc is one of the best in the series in my opinion. It set a trend, alongside the original Shadi arc, of people with Millennium items seeking out of bumping into Yugi and challenging him to their favorite game, usually with their power affecting the game in some way.
In a way, Pegasus continues this trend well since he's the creator of Duel Monsters, but Marik still just playing Duel Monsters is a little disappointing.
@@RedOphiuchus shadi wasn't "playing his favorite game", it was just a series of tests to see if yugi was worthy of the puzzle. As for Marik, by then the series had since transitioned to duel monsters because of how popular it was. if fans hadn't written in asking about it, duel monsters might have stopped being played after death-t.
@user-nm1eu1xu1j it was tests but also I think Shadi just likes puzzles and simply games like concentration. Those are his favorites imo
I wish real gameshow's phone a friend option was this chaotic lol
The reason DDM had colored dice is, in japanese version of the game, you could only use so many dice (15, off the top of my head) and only had 10 summons.
And you have to roll a summon crest on the dice to summon a monster of the type.
I knew about the 30% power bonus because the Reshef of Destruction video game did the same field power bonus, and I remember 1800 becoming 2340.
Mbt got the surrender question right. Mai surrendered twice. Once to tea and once to yugi. Then yugi surrendered to Rebecca
Oh yeah, you’re right. I just double checked the episode listings and the Rebecca duel is right before they rescue Kaiba from the virtual world.
Also it wasn’t just Duelist Kingdom’s “arc”. That was most of Season 1, but arc is not just another word for season. The virtual world and DDM do finish out season 1 but they’re post-Duelist Kingdom’s arc.
So for the rest of the questions you are correct, but I went back and check and for this one cimo says “tournament” instead of “arc”
MBT you got this just synchro summon we need more white duelists Joe defense mode give us your prophecy wise dark sage! XD
@@harrisplofsky171After clarifying in the video that the questions were about the entirety of the first season.
Four if you count Yugi's Grandpa forfeiting in the flashback
Wow I totally misinterpreted the last question until MBT clarified this at 45:21.
Based on how the question is worded, I thought it was saying that Pegasus played all 4 of those cards, BUT one of those 4 received a printing on the TCG/OCG, thus making that 1 card not an anime exclusive.
For the surrender question yugi also surrender to Rebecca which i believe should be part of the kingdom duelist arc
Came here to comment that exact thing lol
Yall cant read huh? It literally says the duelist kingdom TOURNAMENT @@snake909
Oh yeah you're right. He counted duke devlin and the virtual world as Duelist Kingdom, so of course rebecca counts too.
EDIT: Another comment pointed out that the question says "Tournament", so Rebecca doesn't count.
The question did specify the tournament not the arc though.
I'm pretty sure Rebecca was after duelist kingdom so it's pretty iffy.
There were a lot of questions i didnt know or just misremembered but i was surprised that the "30% field bonus" rule was burned on my mind, i knew it before the options even popped up.
That rigged 50/50 lifeline killed me lmao
This was so hilarious, that I'm hoping for another one covering Season 2.
I could be wrong as I can't find a source for it but I could've sworn that at least the japanese dub referred to Keith as the US champion
Yeah, the localization changed things around, Weevil went from Japan champ to regional and Keith went from US champ to intercontinental.
Absorb Spell in the anime was used to steal the ATK gain from Magic Formula equipped to Dark Paladin and apply it to Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, if I recall correctly.
Fun story: Celtic Warrior was and still one of my top fav yugi cards ever even that I grew up and knew it's useless, but that started because of this anime bullsh*t moment when he wanted to stop the attack and the Celtic Warrior obeyed and died.. as a kid I found that SO COOL and I was impressed by how loyal the Celtic Warrior was. xD
Challenge accepted 5:30
I only ever read the manga so hearing you refer to certain characters was a wild ride of confusion and chaos
26:20 Interesting note, Kagemusha of the Blue Flame is technically the very first Shien monster
I GOT BANDIT KEITHS TITLE RIGHT I WAS SO PROUD. I couldn’t believe what I remembered from something I watched in 2006
>says PaniK was correct for 3rd duelist yugi defeated
>then gives explicit reasoning as to how Panik is 5th and Ghost Kaiba is 3rd
PaniK is an editing mistake, not one on Cimooo's part. Cimooo never says PaniK is the correct choice, he says MBT is right. MBT said "gay clown", which is a YGOTAS meme name for the Kaiba impersonator, who Cimooo *does* akcnowledge is the third duel. It's a really easy mistake to make given how many times they say PaniK's name, but neither of them says he is the third duel.

Bro mad props to peeps for the immediate no hesitation to answer the phone and go “is everything alright?” Because phone calls are so uncommon
I didn't think this was a stupid idea or a show Cimo, I personaly think this was awesome. Honestly out of the all of the well known YugiTubers I think MBT had the most chance of getting this questions right.
17:50 Nope! Doppelganger was Yugi's third match. Look it up.
Aren't PaniK and the Doppelganger the same person?
@@eddmario No, Doppelganger Kaiba is not the same person as Panik.
Yugi fought Bakura before Panik though...
yeah, even Cimo said three names before Panik 🤔
it was a editing mistake MBT said Kaiba (doppelganger)
I thought most evil questions to ask your next contestant on this series if you're going to do this again.
How many times was 'pot of greed' actived in the duel monsters series?
I'm so happy there was a Dungeon Dice Monsters questions, I had the gameboy game and the actual board game
Fun math nerd way of answering the Harpie Lady Sisters question. For some reason early monsters made up of other 3 monsters liked to add 50% to the base attack/defense values. Harpie lady being tripled gives her a 50% bonus to 1300/1400 stats for an end value of 1950/2100, gate guardian averages out the attack and defense values of the 3 pieces for 2500/2266.67 which when multiplied by 1.5 gives the weird 3750/3400 we got on the actual card, and blue eyes white dragon's 1.5 boost gives us the 4500 attack from the base of 3000, though it should have had 3750 defense instead of 3800 if the pattern held (but who wants 50s?).
THE GROUP CALL SENT ME. That's a real 90s thing to do LMAOOOOOOO
The group call was gold, absolute gold
Nice to see one of these again, The Duel Logs hasn't made one in a while
Smh my boi Joseph got robbed on the surrender question, since Yugi also surrendered to Rebecca which happened between DK and the Dungeon Dice monster segment :V
He said "tournament" instead of "arc" in that one question so Rebecca's duel doesn't apply.
Uh... Bandit Keith was only the US champion? He literally lost the intercontinental championship to Pegasus in humiliating fashion, that was his whole motivation for being at Duelist Kingdom....
This quiz did not start out strong lol
I think the dub does refer to him a few times as intercontinental champion.
The whole thing mind you is a lot different from the Manga were Keife just was one of the best players at winning tournaments with huge win prizes up until Pegasus for a PR stunt humiliated him in front of the whole world.
I cannot BELIEVE Joseph missed the BLS mai question…..
I also got it wrong. I mixed up the Joey and Mai duel and thought Dark Sage beat Mai and BLS beat Joey
Yugi hamming it up and Mai's "Not him....." lives rent free in my head.
I thought mako summoned that whale ritual but that was probably battle city
@@jgamez106ye Fortress Whale is battle city
@@tpspeed honestly I'm convinced Mako summons Crab Turtle as well but I never watched the anime so I don't know at all. just would make sense to me.
J'attends avec impatience une suite sur le même concept avec l'arc Battle City !
If you ever plan on doing this again (and I certainly hope you do, I'd love to see Gage on this), aside from 50/50 and Discord-call-a-friend, you could add some other Lifelines so the contestant can have a chance at getting the more insane questions.
Instead of Ask The Audience, they could do like a 'free google' where they can google the answer for 1 minute (for some of the crazier questions that's actually still hard). You could also add Flip where you switch the question with a different alternate question, and the contestant can choose which one they feel have a better chance of answering correctly. There's also Ask The Host, which allows you to give them a hint that they haven't already mentioned when they're thinking out loud.
I was 100% up to the field power bonus question, recalling the duel between Joey and Mai when the field was 40% mountain, 40% wasteland, and 20% meadow. And thpight the power bonus was distributed based on the field arrangement and not a flat rate.
The Dungeon Dice Monsters question had me paused for over 5 minutes, recalling each monster summoned until I settled on Red and Green after remembering Battle Ox.
Haven't seen the other questions yet...
Edit: What the hell was up with the satelite question! Got that wrong. Had some fun reasoning for the last question: Trap Displacement was used to turn Kaiba' Crush Card Virus against his deck, Magical Neutralizing Force was repelled by Little Yugi to destroy Toon World, and Prophecy was used to nab Blue-Eyes White dragon from kaiba' hand by guessing above or below 2000ATK for a card in Kaiba's hand, therefore guessing Absorb spell.
The spell you guys were talking about was the double spell that used all of the spell cards from this or the previous turn, I don't remember
Absorb spell increases your monster's attack depending on how much your opponent's monsters increased their attack, or something like that
This is sending me down some nostalgia and somehow I knew most of these despite the last time I even watched any of Duelist Kingdom was 20 years ago lol.
Most Yugitubers famously know sod all about the anime so this should be interesting.
Edit: Only DM S1? That's just as hilarious as it is tragic 😂
Tbh i knew the final answer from the start cause if you have watched yugi vs kaiba in battle city at colloseum he played it
34:00 Joseph was correct because Cimo said these questions include everything before Battle City. Then Yugi surrenders to Rebecca so that's 3 surrenders.
*technically* the question was phrased the way it was, it doesn't matter if the host mispoke, the letter of the trivia law is how the question is *wrote* not clarified.
@14:50 Fun Trivia trivia: Harpie Lady Sisters' stats are 1.5x a normal Harpy Lady's 1300/1400 so 1950/2100.
Bro immediately asked, "Is everything all right?"
A REAL FRIEND.
31:50 The terrain percentage wasn't about the field power bonus, it was about how the terrain arenas are spread throughout the Duelist Kingdom island. Like 40% of the mountain arenas, because I guess there were alot of arenas in mountains on the island. The power bonus was always a fixed 30% as long as your monsters match the terrain with their attribute.
I think there was a video explaining about all of this, but the field power bonus wasn't intentional or if it was, the numbers were completely off and that's why all of the monsters affected by the anime always had weird stats in the actual game, like Dark Chimera 1710 attack.
"I don't know how you came to right answer from the wrong information" because the answer key wrong
If I remember correctly: absorb spell allows you to steal the effect of a spell your opponent activates. As an example: yugi activates the book of magical secrets on his dark paladin to boost him by 500, to which kaiba responds with absorb spell, stealing the 500 and giving it to his blue eyes ultimate dragon.
Believe it or not the Johnny Steps episode is one of my favorites. Print Heavy Metal King already, Konami!
I swear to god, MBT has that Peter Griffin look in the thumbnail
These are literally the hardest questions ever and I’ve watched duel monster’s recently lol
Do this with Gage.
I think the point to a show like this is to remind the fans about interesting things about the anime, and many questions here fail to do that in my opinion.
There are an insane amount of these I would have just gotten wrong too. I thought Duelist Kingdom was better cemented into my memory but no, not at all. I think all of these knowledge was replaced with modern Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, rules and rulings.
The coolest thing I got out of this video is that apparently Cimooooo is a DDR fiend. I'd like to see a video of THAT please!
I knew literally none of this, but when you asked about Pumpkin, I instantly remembered Bonz saying 10%.
I was so sure the answer to the "how many surrenders happened" was going to count when Yugi surrendered to Rebecca, since the DDR question and the Dungeon Dice questions were included
As soon as MBT asked for the 50/50 right after narrowing it down to the 2 Red Eyes monsters I knew what was going to happen. Knowing the way Pegasus likes to toy with his opponents he was probably playing with elephants just to mess with Keith.
funny mbt mentioned bakura ritual summoning zorc, because both the zorc card and ritual spell are based on the manga chapters where bakura debuted (zorc was the boss of the dnd stand-in they were playing, and the ritual spell is based on the panel where zorc removed his diguise to the players). also zorc's effect is based on how in that game, rolling lower was better for you and vice versa (rolling less than 10 was a crit, double zero was the best roll, and 99 was a fumble)
37:34 me at work, watching this video
Can we clip MBT saying “I’m not calling Gaia the fierce knight a bitch”
I called it the Kagemush. Cimo even had a trick awnser in the blackland fire dragon that was the second card played.
I want more of these lol
Its entertaining
Not sure how many reasonable questions would be possible tho lol
that phone a friend call was great
Honestly I’m 3 minutes and I’m more than happy to get the bandit Keith question correct, everything else can be forgotten
You should make the 50-50 random next time! Defeats the advantage when you pick!
Fun video!!
The 2 serenaders you forgot was the digital world where Mia tech surrenders to Joey and yugi surrendered to Rebecca Hawkins
The Councel pulled up 😂😂😂
As a BLS fanboy, I ripped my eyeballs out and turned myself inside out at 3:16 ahhhh
The questions were very good however you can easily get them wrong depending on the source. Some people say the duelist kingdom arc ends when they leave the island so the big 5 wouldn’t count. Because of that, a few of the answers change.
Owning the first season of yugioh on vhs and watching the entire season every time I stayed home sick from school really helped me with this lol 😂
I love that it turned into a 3 way call.
When he said Weevil and rituals I literally said a loud "what about the Javelin Beetle" and hearing Cimo say it I was pogging in real time
Best YGO content creators united
That second lifeline was absolutely fantastic
18:54 in order by memory first duel weevil vs yugi , then joey vs mai, yugi vs mako then mokubu vs yugi , then yugi vs mimic of doom aka ghost kaiba , then joey vs rex , after that in-between duels mai vs panik and bakura vs yugi . Mai losses and Yugi duels panik to get mai star chips . Then joey vs bonz and later on the paradox brothers , seto kaiba vs yugi then etc
We need the battle city trivia with MBT now
The difference on the outer glow on MBT and cimo in the thumbnail bothers me lol (really good video btw)
11:04 I knew that would happen when Joseph opted for the 50/50, no shot that weren't.
Celtic guardian dying to blue eyes ultimate is part of the intro. Come on Joseph.
# 0001 Good thing I recently saw the Waking the Dragons arc. I forgot about the satellite part but I knew the answer was California because that's where the Industrial Illusions HQ is located, due to where everyone had went to learn about Darrz.
I got all but one of them right: the Field Power bonus one, which honestly I think was wrong in of itself because there have been several duels in the show where the field has been dominated by different amounts of land, which resulted in monsters getting varying levels of attack point bonuses. EX: the duel between Joey and Mai, where Joey's monsters got a small boost due to the plains being only 20% of the field, while Mai's monsters getting a bigger boost due to the mountains being 40% of the field. Idk, maybe I'm wrong about this one, but I feel like D should have been the correct answer.
There were a few questions that did trip me up though.
The 'proper fusion' one, because that depends on what's considered a "proper fusion". Does "proper fusion" mean "using Polymerization", or does it mean "if the monster is *fused* into something?" Because Shadow Ghoul was fused into Labyrynth Wall via Polymerization, so that would technically count as a "Proper fusion", but that wasn't the case with Mammoth Graveyard and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Yugi said that it was "fused" though, so I just assumed it counted regardless. I figured it was the Time Wizard one because, while Thousand Dragon is considered a Fusion monster, the process of Aging is a mechanic specific to Duelist Kingdom, and is not considered Fusion.
Duke Devlin's most used Dice question was also a pretty tricky one. I knew it wasn't black and red, because I remembered that in the show, the black dice was considered extremely rare, so it couldn't possibly be his most used one. It became a toss up between yellow and green, but I just remembered him having more green than yellow, so I picked that one.
The ritual monster amount question was also a weird one because, what counts as "Duelist Kingdom"? When does it end? When Pegasus is defeated? When they leave the island? When the Battle City tournament starts? When Kaiba receives Obelisk? That just seems like a trick question that requires more detail and isn't fair to the player. If we consider "When Pegasus is defeated" as the end of the Duelist Kingdom arc, it's 3, but if we consider the arc up until the Battle City tournament starts, it's 4 due to Zera the Mant. I chose 3, but that can be extremely confusing. That needed to be explained better.
The first card ever played in the Duelist Kingdom arc was also a REALLY clever question, because you'd think "Oh it must be Hitotsu Me Giant because Kaiba went first and that was the first duel" except that WASN'T the first duel, the first duel was the practice duel between Yugi and Joey in school, and the first card he played that we saw was Kagemusha of the Blue Flame. Very clever.
The Satellite crash one was one I really got stuck one, I straight up just guessed on that one lol.
He should do with kind of video for every arc of original yugioh with different guests.
38:25 that question was evil... you got me with that one ngl 😂
Bandit Kieth was not the intercontinental Champion. He was playing in the tournament for the intercontinental title, and lost to Sam(the kid), but Pegusus.
