ok, I'm going to leave this here for those who don't have an arsenal of bomb arrows, if you run into this and come up short on Bomb Flowers, Puff Shrooms will indeed blind them, they will stop moving and not react to your attacks so if you got Puff Shrooms and a long reaching weapon like a lance, go to town on them

Guardians were cool but somewhat straight-forward because one shield parry and they're gone. These take multiple hits, regen if you don't kill them fast enough, can outrun Link's base speed when he's at a full sprint, and even has a 2nd phase. During all of which it has puddles that chip away your max health.
You know, as scary as the Guardians were first time round, they looked creepy cool and had a badass theme song. These…hand things are somehow even scarier and can kill you way quicker, making them far more of a frightening threat. On top of the unexpected boss, that’s horrifying nightmare fuel.

Got the Hylian shield early on in the castle docks and fast traveled my butt out of there right as the hands emerged and started charging toward me. So much NOPE
If you can get a bow with double or triple shot, you can shoot bomb flowers out of the bow, and defeat the hands in just 3-4 shots. Additionally to defeat what happens after you kill them, or anything else for that matter, use that same double or triple shot bow and attach Gibdo bones to the arrows. Then, with each shot dealing potentially several hundred damage, get into the air, activate bullet time, and shoot away. If you got a sufficient amount of air time and you have enough stamina, you can defeat it before it has a chance to activate a single attack.
@@ChrisWEEZ Fighting Lynels generally isn't worth it unless you have upgraded a lot of inventory space with Korok seeds and have a ton of weapons and materials to waste.
Not sure why it hasn’t been mentioned but phantom Ganon’s sword dash attack has two patterns. If he readies his sword at the top of his head you should dodge to the side not backwards. If he readies his sword to the side you should back step not side dodge.
Now when you say that, do you mean they disappear and leave dark clumps? Because that's something that happens anyway. They're on a timer. If they vanish and [SPOILER] appears, they actually died.
What these hands do to my living room with my immersion lighting set up- absolutely the red fuel of nightmares! It actually made me think a blood moon was happening on my first encounter with them cuz it turned my entire living room red!

A tip for when there's no plateform to bomb them from higher place (like a certain point in the game in a certain forest) : smoke mushroom works wonders. They stay confused in the smoke, and it's possible to bomb them, then throw another smoke mushroom until defeated. Smoke mushroom don't work for the ennemy that comes after, but it is easier to deal with that ennemy than the gloom hands.

Duplex bows and (im assuming) other multishot bows with bomb flowers are extremely effective against the hands because it shoots multiple bombs while only taking up one.
I recently bought this game for $30 Black Friday and omg the first time I encountered one it was terrifying!! I shouted out “WTH?!?!” Scared the crap outta me!!
Once you get a Lyonel bow these enemies no longer hold power over you. Once that bow breaks and you don't have a back up, well they become more of a problem again.
If you retain Lynel fighting skills from BotW, go find the Floating Colosseum in The Depths. Five Lynels in a row from weakest to strongest, and you get to keep all their loot, including two Savage Lynel Bows.
@@shartsmcginty8056 Aside from a spear and sword, he can also drop a Gloom Club, which deals a beefy 50 base damage. Fuse it with a high tiered monster part and it deals insane damage per hit. To me, the gloom spear is the best melee weapon out of the three because no other spear in the game even deals 40 damage without any parts fused to it. The only drawback is the poor durability the weapon has overall.
Giant Boomerang is also an option, because when u throw it, and because is big, it will prob hit all the Gloom hands, but also, if u throw it, and get grabbed, if the boomerang hit the gloom hand, it will drop you
The gloom sword/spear does not take away your hearts with every hit, there is a cool down timer on the effect, negating one heart every 3-5 seconds if you're attacking, if you're not attacking and you're above ground, your heart will recover from the gloom.
Right? It’s not even a fair and reasonable challenge. They fight so cheap! You break one’s grip just in time to get snatched up by another. It’s legit destroying this game for me.

An excellent way to take out Gloom Hands without depleting resources is to get a Giant Boomerang fused with a Lizal Tail, that way you can take out all the hands with 1-3 throws.
They are susceptible to puffshrooms, dazzle fruits and burn very well with bombs. Immune to muddle buds though. What comes after is also immune to dazzle. They both can die from plants, how crazy is that?
Just find a great fairy and update your armor. If you use the armor you can buy in the outpost and upgrade it to 12 resistance each then gloom hands and phantom ganons become super easy.
Use an ice fused weapon, the best is Gleeok ice horn because it does not need a recharge. A frozen hand that is killed will not respawn. Fuse rockets on your shields snd rocket jump, while mid air pull your bow and shoot flower bombs. Best bows are 5 shot or 3 shot bows. You can also make a zonaite machine: Construct head, homing cart and ice emitter to help with stuns.
are you serious they can absolutely climb!!!! ("smooth" or vertical surfaces like cliffs. they seem to be foiled by platforms that Link can do a short hop up to though, like in the Akkala Citadel ruins)

Also, if the hands do get ahold of you, if you rotate both joy sticks quickly, you should be able to escape their grasp with only minimal damage.
Lynell bow is extremely useful here since it will shoot 3 bombs (only uses one bomb from your inventory though), causing a ton of splash damage.
Lynels are such a pain in the ass though. They usually take half my weapon inventory and (because I suck) at least a couple of fairies.

Easiest way to tackle them is to immediately fast travel the moment you see them 😂
These things will die from environment gloom. Get them to chase you into a pile of gloom that already exists on the map, and it actually damages them.

It's wild how you mostly encounter some weaker creatures like bokobins and lizards, and at the same time you have eldritch horrors like this.
Phantom Ganon's bow will cause Zonie objects to disappear if you are using them for cover.

you can get a gloom club as well. you don't lose any hearts to gloom if you use the weapons on the back of a lynel which is a plus.
Don't forget the fast gloom expansion attack Phantom Ganon does! That's the worst especially in caves where you have limited escape options

There's other Demon King weapons btw, you get a different weapon depending on if he uses a club, a sword, etc

Electric arrows also work really well since it stuns them and it touch lal of them when they're packed

They are fine if you can climb up but once was raining and couldn’t, I didn’t even know they spawned a mini boss 😅, was fun and got pretty cool loot.

Let me guess, Zelda veterans complained about there being no Wallmasters in BOTW. So the developers made these things.

Bomb flower fused with arrow is your friend. Fused two demon spears together to get 80 dmg and a very long melee range weapon with ok durability
