Fun fact, dragons take 10-11 minutes to recharge, so if you want to farm dragon parts you can sit on their backs and set a stopwatch. If you know their path you can fast travel to the skyview tower that the dragon is closest to or the closest light root if possible. Farosh goes down the crater to the top right of lake hylia, wraps around and dips into Faron a little bit but turns toward the gerudo region and out of the crater by the 7 heroines, then back over to the crater by lake hylia
Unlock 1/4 of the depths starting from below Rito Village. Just unlocking lightroots and clearing mobs along the way. Got 5 energy cells now. Take your time, the game is massive.

A much faster way is also duping the large zonaite (675 for 15 entire batteries) and going to the house that you built near terry town and sleeping. After you sleep, teleport to the great abandoned central mine and buy all of the large crystallized charges. After that go back to the house you built and sleep again. I just duplicate large zonite, then go to each shop and buy out all of their large crystallized charged. It takes no more than 10 minutes to dupe like 30-45 large zonite. That can get you 300 crystallized charges minimum, which is 3 cells. Have fun!
if you manage to hit 300 (once refined) every 10 minutes consistently, you’ll be getting 30 per minute. 30 per minute to achieve 4,500 is 150-190 minutes

From my almost close to late game playthrough, I have noticed a pattern: fire>ice>lighting and repeat. Each dragon flies out of the cave in turn, each flies above the ground for around 15-20 mins real life time. Haven’t timed how long they flying below the ground yet. NE corner of the world map -Fire dragon, will fly by the research lab taken by yoga clan; SE to NW cave; (the big one indicated on the map) SE corner of the map -ice dragon West to east cave; also flying by closely the research lab where you upgrade your sensor S to SW corner of the map Lighting dragon(far east border of the desert region to rain forest mid south part of the world map ) East to west cave. One time the light dragon is on top of the fire dragon but just too high to reach, as I already have done the MSQ quest so need to active the side quest to track and find another spot to glide. Unless you have enough battery to just hop on your jet. So if you spot one, you can work out the route and time in real life, I’ll stop my current task on hand and hunt the dragon parts asap so the 10mins CD parts respawn timer can also start asap. if fast enough , can do three dragon twice every hour in real life if you know where the nearest tower to glide and land on them. Fire and ice will fly by very close to the 2 research centres NE and SE, you can hop on the lil flying moto bike (AJ has a video about it) and reach them in close distance. Good luck hunting without using the glitch.
The B+Y paraglide dupe glitch makes zonite farming quick and easy. Rumor has it....the forge crystals restock every 10-15 mins. Use the tallest pillar in the central hub lookout where robbie and everybody is, you can quick dupe 3-4 drops so if you do it right, you can basically swipe those crystals for technically free because of your production of zonite for that restock timer which i think saves you 50 whole moves but you also kinda sacrifice exploration time
FYI there are a maximum of 16 full batteries, costing 4500 crystallized charges total to unlock After unlocking all batteries crystallized charges can be used to purchase any Zonai part from the stewards
@@Praxss Maxing out your battery by purchasing Large Crystalized Charges will take no more than 675 Large Zonaite. Unless you're using a duplication glitch, you're better off farming miniboss drops and grabbing the boss rematch rewards.
It always feels so good when you confirm everything I’ve already found out in the game as optimal play. Doesn’t happen often, but from slay things, get money to sheika sensor for the win… I got to feel ahead of the curve today.
(Posting this thanks on both videos) Hi Austin John! Thank you so much for the rare stone talus locations and the depths crystalized charge route! Now every blood moon I can farm rare stone taluses for good gems and weapon fuses, then go to the depths to use those weapons on the mini bosses down there and replace the weapons that break at the fallen soldier locations. A perfect farming circle. I seem to collect 2 battery segments with the route I do and only encounter 1 lynel when I do it. Frox are also excellent zonaite farming spots since they are also always beside a rich ore patch.
Taking down the enemy camps and taking their zonaite works very well for me. Even if you dont get large zonaite every few veins, which is pretty luck dependent.
The sheer scale of that fight is incredible. All the others took place in an enclosed area (one of them being uncomfortably small for a boss room) but Colgera? Up in the friggin sky! And the thing itself is massive! Such a fun boss fight.
I've was mining Zonai and was getting tired of doing mining in the dark and running out of those light buds. So I got one of those light weight railing materials and made a two fan plane and lite up most of the light roots. It's much better mining in depths now.
Note for the refinery by lookout landing. I don’t think there’s actually any requirements for it to open other than talking to the construct. I went there before doing any of the regionals and it opened though I didn’t have enough charges to do anything with it
Don't know if someone beat me to it, but from what I can tell, you have access to the refinery near lookout landing ounce you find it. I didn't test pre first dungeon (wind temple), but I got a full battery pre second dungeon.
I just Arrow Duped 500 Large Zonaite (1 hour and 45 Minutes) and then Maxed out my Battery on my Very First Upgrade. Resetting for Crystalized Charge Shops took maybe 30 minutes
Over the course of like an hour, I did the arrow fusing duplication glitch somewhere around 600 times on large Zonaite in order to max out my batteries. It was tedious, but it's so nice to have 16 batteries now.
Yeah I found the dupe glitch is just faster for me. This is awesome for when the glitch gets patched, but besides running around the entire depths for 20 at a time and the occasional 100 chargers, duping is not only faster but I won’t waste my resources in fighting all these bosses.
@@ignaciolema5184 it kinda is 8 batteries but once u unlock all 8 batteries u end up practically upgrading the 8 batteries but it functions the same way as if u just had 16 batteries
fun fact: even if you max out your battery your can upgrade them more to another level, I've max my battery and i just found out you can upgrade the battery to another level which goes from a aqua color to a nice ocean blue color
The steward outside lookout landing is there from the beginning. I found him activated right at the beginning of my playthrough before entering the camp for the first time
Just a quick tip The Regional Dragons' cycle (Farosh, Dinrall and Naydra) always pass AT LEAST one boss, with Farosh passing Wind Temple's boss. Dunno about the others, but i'm assuming Dinrall will also pass the Wind Temple's boss as it usually hangs around Hebra, and Naydra will probably also do it as well. This is just an hypothosis, as i am too busy just exploring Hyrule (and trying to avoid the depths because i went down there for 5 whole minutes before needing to throw up.)
all of the lightroots correspond with a shrine on the surface (as in, theyre in the same location just in the depths) if that helps you with exploring the depths
It gets easier. I got the heeby jeebies the first time I went there with the omnious music and the darkness, but now I'm obsessed with mapping out the whole area and finding treasures. It rewards exploration.
I learned about the lynels dropping large crystalized charges when I got Majoras mask, but now I'm super excited to run into Khoga and the temple bosses again. I got four batteries already, but eight would be really nice!
"Oh I need help on what i should do and how to upgrade batteries so my hover bike can last longer" Austin making videos on basically whatever would be useful in totk without spoiling much at all:
There's also the unofficial unique horse that was used in promotional art for BOTW, is the default horse for the Dark Beast Ganon fight if you don't have any horses, and is seen in a few of Link's memories
Thank god for the item duplication glitch. As of version 1.2.1 it still works allowing to duplicate up to 21 Large Zoniate each time. It takes 15 to buy all 5 large crystalized charges from a factory, which equals 100 small crystalized charges and allows for one battery section upgrade.
Hi. I have 234 crystallized charges. I have gone to talk to stuart hoping to upgrade mt battery but when i speak to him there is no option to use the crystallized charge. What am i doing wrong ? Thanks
Note: you can also get I think 4 more huge crystallized charges for following the quest after getting auto build (yiga boss). After each section of the quest look for a chest.
Battle Talus's are actually VERY easy. All you need is a Muddle Budd and Ascention. Muddlebudding the Talus will make it attack the bokos up top, and after that, use ascend to go up through the bottom onto the wooden platforms above that dont have gloom. Smash their weak spot stones and its game over.
I unlocked the abandoned mine under rito with no enemies. I dupe large zonite chunks (new method) and buy the supply of charges from the shop. +100 - go sleep at a stable in a bed and it restocks. If you already have multiple spots where you can exchange large chunks for charges, you can get multiple 100s per sleep. This is where you fight a boss later, but he won’t be there until you complete the other quests before the final fight. The new dupe method allows you to get x16 of an item by shield surf jumping and following crazy easy steps.
A video i would love to see would be an in-depth fusion guide on what each item/type of item acts like and its power level when the item is the base or the fused thing
AJP your Chanel is the BEST! I don’t know how you can get though this knowing darn well we will be duplicating those large zonite;) thanks again for the great videos.
That Refinery at Lookout Landing is there as soon as you get there, it just doesn't stand out much so most don't notice it. Personally I didn't remember the one on the Sky Island was there for the longest so I made like half my batteries at that one and I hadn't done the Wind Temple on my "post-launch" playthrough yet as I've mostly been exploring and whatnot.
U can upgrade the battery twice the color on the batterys on your hip changes from green to blue, after that u can buy zonai equipment, including Big batteries.
Thank you for your videos, and also I’m determined that when I get back into the game (Have to let my Switch charge and my TV isn’t positioned great for this) I’m going to find every light root I’ve found, and put a marker on the ground map And then find every shrine I’ve found, and put a marker on the depths map Honestly, my map is going to hate this (I may max out the stamps if there’s a maximum) and my dad will be confused at my map being filled with little shrine looking markers lol So, again, thank you for these videos. Things like this help me find something to do that isn’t major, like the Fire Temple or any of that. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a big battery, and sometimes it’s nice to see the depths more filled than before. Even if it’s filled with stamps lol
The crystal refinery at lookout landing is pretty much immediately available I found it there before doing pretty much anything (don't know if i activated the lookout landing tower or not)
this game is unreal the sheer size of it is pretty overwhelming at times but ive been absolutely loving every minute ill be honest i was worried it was gonna be the amount of what a dlc pack might be but boy was i so wrong
In the end I just explored half of the map and raided every Yiga camp and every small mine (thanks for the advice) along with a number of mini bosses. I also converted 100% of my small Zonaite pieces👍
Im pretty sure the lookout landing crystal refinery is there from the start. I might be wrong, but i remember it being there when i first went to lookout landing.
Just eat charges before using power they can actually overcharge your batteries to get more without actually increasing the overall charge limit and another fun fact you can take advantage of a few mechanics of the armor batteries that are attachable can actually last longer as well
Just a little correction. The 3 Elemental attack Armor sets that i mentioned don't require Large Zonaite, they require Large Zonai Charges. Sorry.
You can go over the max battery once
As Servbot said, but even earlier. walked up to it before I even entered the town and it was already usable. so It's likely not locked behind anything at all. well, other then getting to it.

Each dragon flies out of the cave in turn, each flies above the ground for around 15-20 mins real life time. Haven’t timed how long they flying below the ground yet.
NE corner of the world map -Fire dragon, will fly by the research lab taken by yoga clan;
SE to NW cave; (the big one indicated on the map)
SE corner of the map -ice dragon
West to east cave; also flying by closely the research lab where you upgrade your sensor
S to SW corner of the map Lighting dragon(far east border of the desert region to rain forest mid south part of the world map )
East to west cave.
One time the light dragon is on top of the fire dragon but just too high to reach, as I already have done the MSQ quest so need to active the side quest to track and find another spot to glide. Unless you have enough battery to just hop on your jet.
So if you spot one, you can work out the route and time in real life,
I’ll stop my current task on hand and hunt the dragon parts asap so the 10mins CD parts respawn timer can also start asap.
if fast enough , can do three dragon twice every hour in real life if you know where the nearest tower to glide and land on them.
Use the tallest pillar in the central hub lookout where robbie and everybody is, you can quick dupe 3-4 drops so if you do it right, you can basically swipe those crystals for technically free because of your production of zonite for that restock timer which i think saves you 50 whole moves but you also kinda sacrifice exploration time
FYI there are a maximum of 16 full batteries, costing 4500 crystallized charges total to unlock
After unlocking all batteries crystallized charges can be used to purchase any Zonai part from the stewards
4500 crystallized charges means how many large zonaite?
@@Praxss Maxing out your battery by purchasing Large Crystalized Charges will take no more than 675 Large Zonaite. Unless you're using a duplication glitch, you're better off farming miniboss drops and grabbing the boss rematch rewards.
FINALLY! I’ve avoided other channels’ guides just to wait for this lol
It always feels so good when you confirm everything I’ve already found out in the game as optimal play. Doesn’t happen often, but from slay things, get money to sheika sensor for the win… I got to feel ahead of the curve today.
So happy to see you making Zelda content again man I remember watching your videos back a couple years ago for botw missed the content man
(Posting this thanks on both videos) Hi Austin John!
Thanks Austin. I needed an efficient guide without having to rely on the duplication glitch alot.
Taking down the enemy camps and taking their zonaite works very well for me. Even if you dont get large zonaite every few veins, which is pretty luck dependent.
Give this man a raise in monetization maannn, he deserves it, this kinda of methodical quality in a game guide is hard to come by 😭😭😭
Im so glad that I can fight colgera again in the depths because that theme is great and the fight is so fun
The GOAT. You're vids helped during the botw days and now totk. Thank you so much.
let’s go I’ve been waiting for this video your the best Austin 😁
Over the course of like an hour, I did the arrow fusing duplication glitch somewhere around 600 times on large Zonaite in order to max out my batteries. It was tedious, but it's so nice to have 16 batteries now.
16??? Damn I thought It capped at 8
Yeah I found the dupe glitch is just faster for me.
Holy moly, had no idea the sheer quantity of bosses in the depths. And I'm almost done with the game and unlocked all lightroots.
Thank you. Glad I checked I'm a horder and was unsure what I needed to keep much appreciated buddy
The steward outside lookout landing is there from the beginning. I found him activated right at the beginning of my playthrough before entering the camp for the first time
Loving the content Austin! This really takes me back to 2017 when botw had just came out and I was watching all your guides back then as I am now
Same! He was my go to on 95%ing BOTW
I just started watching you about a week ago when I started totk, and I love you so much.
Holy cow, so much research for just this one video. Rec'd for sure.
Just a quick tip
The Regional Dragons' cycle (Farosh, Dinrall and Naydra) always pass AT LEAST one boss, with Farosh passing Wind Temple's boss.
Dunno about the others, but i'm assuming Dinrall will also pass the Wind Temple's boss as it usually hangs around Hebra, and Naydra will probably also do it as well.
This is just an hypothosis, as i am too busy just exploring Hyrule
(and trying to avoid the depths because i went down there for 5 whole minutes before needing to throw up.)
actually? ive gotten the point from its environment that its barely habitable, but never the need to throw up
all of the lightroots correspond with a shrine on the surface (as in, theyre in the same location just in the depths) if that helps you with exploring the depths
It gets easier. I got the heeby jeebies the first time I went there with the omnious music and the darkness, but now I'm obsessed with mapping out the whole area and finding treasures. It rewards exploration.
Thanks for dropping this video,I was in need of batteries for some builds I made
Man Austin John’s is just pumping out the videos lately. Super helpful guides! Can’t tell how many videos I’ve saved for later!
you can also use the shield jump glitch for +16 large zonaite per jump
I've been doing that for 30 min so far 😅
Still a pillar in the community thank you for your tireless work we appreciate you 💪🏾🙏🏾👌🏾
I learned about the lynels dropping large crystalized charges when I got Majoras mask, but now I'm super excited to run into Khoga and the temple bosses again. I got four batteries already, but eight would be really nice!
Do crystallized charges have any use after you've maxed out your energy cells?
I haven’t maxed out my cells so I don’t know.
"Oh I need help on what i should do and how to upgrade batteries so my hover bike can last longer"
Austin making videos on basically whatever would be useful in totk without spoiling much at all:
you sir, are a god send, a literal god send
Well this helped me find the depths mini bosses. Looks like I’m hanging out down there the next couple days
I was waiting for this one! Thanks Austin, keep up the fantastic work, you really do spoil us.
Cheers :) been wandering around looking for Zonaite for hours.
Lightning boss = hardest
water boss = 2nd hardest
wind boss= 3rd
Fire boss = last hardest
10:46 covered that lol
@@AustinJohnPlays Yeah my b my b.
Thank you. Feeling a little overwhelmed. You helped to clarify a path👍🏼.
I just found your channel and I am loving it! My kids and I watch your videos then we do the things! It's helping a ton
I love that you take the time to explain the details! I love your videos man!
Impressive
Very Nice
Now let's see Paul Allen's best way to increase Battery
A video i would love to see would be an in-depth fusion guide on what each item/type of item acts like and its power level when the item is the base or the fused thing
Zelda botw had thousands of rupees and materials .Totk really like working a second job trying to obtain everything 😭
The Lookout Landing Crystal Refinery is available as soon as you reach the ground. I unlocked it before I even had the Glider.
“Zonia contraptions” are going to be so much easier to use now!
AJP your Chanel is the BEST! I don’t know how you can get though this knowing darn well we will be duplicating those large zonite;) thanks again for the great videos.
Daaaamn Austin, Back at it again with another upload! ❤❤
Your guides have helped so much man thank you!
U can upgrade the battery twice the color on the batterys on your hip changes from green to blue, after that u can buy zonai equipment, including Big batteries.
14:06 Austin, the crystal refinery at lookout landing can be unlock right after landing to the surface. Thanks for the tips on upgrading battery!!
Thank you for your videos, and also I’m determined that when I get back into the game (Have to let my Switch charge and my TV isn’t positioned great for this) I’m going to find every light root I’ve found, and put a marker on the ground map
And then find every shrine I’ve found, and put a marker on the depths map
Honestly, my map is going to hate this (I may max out the stamps if there’s a maximum) and my dad will be confused at my map being filled with little shrine looking markers lol
So, again, thank you for these videos. Things like this help me find something to do that isn’t major, like the Fire Temple or any of that. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a big battery, and sometimes it’s nice to see the depths more filled than before. Even if it’s filled with stamps lol
The crystal refinery at lookout landing is pretty much immediately available
I found it there before doing pretty much anything (don't know if i activated the lookout landing tower or not)
this game is unreal the sheer size of it is pretty overwhelming at times but ive been absolutely loving every minute ill be honest i was worried it was gonna be the amount of what a dlc pack might be but boy was i so wrong
Dang that intro music was awesome! I could listen to that on loop no problem
Great vid. I’ve found a few of the temple bosses in the depths but I did not know they had 3 instances. Headed back down now.
Just eat charges before using power they can actually overcharge your batteries to get more without actually increasing the overall charge limit and another fun fact you can take advantage of a few mechanics of the armor batteries that are attachable can actually last longer as well
